Im so excited to get mine! Comes tomorrow! This is plenty big enough for all my huge mini tornado siren projects. My sister has a neptune 3 max and that got me sold on upgrading from my sunlu s9 plus to the neptune 4 max. This is my 3rd printer. My first two were a sunlu s8, and sunlu s9 plus
Were you able to connect to wifi yet? I purchased one for my son and set everything up for him. I could possibly help if needed. In a side note, I definitely recommend Orca slicer for all your printers. We have a P1P and the N4Max and run both from Orca.
@@Ferineas yep, but all the problems mentioned in that video have been fixed with firmware updates. According to that content creator, Elegoo has also been very responsive and committed to fixing the issues. I ran into one of the same issues that I mentioned in my video and they fixed it with a firmware update :)
Great video thank you. My experience with it is much the same as yours. Those annoying plastic blocks messed the set up a bit. They should be mentioned in the instructions ie. Remove them before doing anything. Then I found I could not connect via WiFi using the Elegoo Cura slicer. The browser on my PC can see the printer though. I have printed out the nutcracker model which was OK but did have a layer shift. My firmware is well out of date which is a concern. I could update it but worry I will have to update the touch screen TF card as well. Thanks again.
Yea. I am still unable to connect to the printer through wifi as well. I can see and control it through the browser - same as you. Hopefully a fix will come soon. I updated to the latest firmware for both the screen and printer. It fixes the grinding print head, but still having issues connecting via wifi. The update wasn't too bad, but I have heard mixed stories.
I am now dealing with Elegoo support. They have sent some instructions where you activate the Octoprint plugin from within Elegoo Cura. However, you need to input an API key which I don’t have. So I am asking Support where do I get this key from.
OK, I have got Wi-Fi working now. Open a browser and input the address of the printers WLAN. This takes you to the “fluidd” firmware screen. Click on the cogwheel down the left hand side and from the drop-down click on “authentification”. This takes you to the “Octoprint” firmware and there is a button marked API Key. Click on that and copy the key code. Then through Elegoo Cura click on the “Manage Printers” option on the printer drop down. Then select the “connect octoprint” option. Enter the IP of the printer and press OK. The next screen requires you to paste the API Key into the correct field. Then click “connect” and then “close”. Then “slice” a file. The box in the bottom right hand corner now has a button marked “print with Octoprint”. I hope this helps.
@@leswaters2275 Thank You sir. You are a lifesaver! Now I just gotta figure out what the issue is with bed leveling. The back of the bed never prints right on the first layer and i cant figure out if its too much squish or not enough.
Hi, I have a Neptune 4 and most of the time it doesnt connect to my network. Ethernet cable is fine, other devices like Laptops etc connect normally. Sometimes it does connect and everything is fine, but I cant find the reason why it struggles so often. Do you have an idea ?
I have not yet been able to get mine to connect over wifi using any slicer. I can only access the printer via wifi using my browser. I think this is a known issue that several of us are facing and hope an upcoming firmware update will fix it. Let me know if you find a solution as well. I have been hearing mixed results from users on the forums and viewers from my channel. SOme are able to connect through wifi using Orca Slicer.
@@3uilDStudio Hi, thanks for your answer. My printer gets no IP even Overkill ethernet, in rare cases it does get one, but I cant fix it. If I find a solution, I'll let you know.
Good point. I need to do a follow up video to get some recommendations from the community to address and fix some of the issues Im facing with bed leveling.
It is not a good printer for printing something large and functional... it requires so much tinkering to get things more or less right. Too big and that increases tolerances level by a lot.
Thanks for the video. I was able to connect to my printer over wifi. It wouldn't print directly from Cura, but I could go to the IP address via Chrome and upload and print the file that way. I prefer this method as the usb failed me twice on big prints. I found this video that shows how to go about getting it set up. How has yours been working for you?
Great video! I'm considering buying this printer because of its speed and size. How quickly did it print that robot?
I boght it a week ago and am very hapy with it
Just bought this printer and using Orca Slicer have had 0 issues with the printer, getting amazing prints. Wifi works flawlessly as well
That's good to hear. How did you get the wifi to work on Orca Slicer. Im having trouble detecting the printer on WiFi
Do you happen to have the footprint dimension of the 4 feet? Thanks

love the printer but waiting 2-3 weeks for a replacement hotend is tough
Great Vid... Did you have any firmware issues? All of the printing was right out of box... no updates?
All of the prints were out of box - During the filming of the video I had not yet updated any of the firmware.
On YT is video "Neptune 4 Series Problems" ;-)

You should! Especially if you like to tinker and need a printer for larger prints

Stop advertising this printer as "500" mm/s.
Everything above 300 looks like absolute crap.

True. It's definitely a tinkerers printer. I assume it will get better over time with more updates.
Tinkerers model? How so? Seems only to be some firmware issues. If you want to tinker just head over to Creality 😂
