just bought one, thank you,
I would be interested to know if the closed P1S is less dangerous to health? If the P1S uses a fan to exhaust the air from the enclosure and doesn't do it through a HEPA filter, I don't think there is much point in printing in an enclosure. I mean from a health point of view. I'd have the printer in a room, so the VOC fumes problem worries me a bit.
I think the purpose of the enclosure is more to keep the chamber warm and/or the temperature regulated for certain material types. There are HEPA Attachments that can be purchased for the Bambu Lab printers. I print with mostly PLA and PETG and have a seperate HEPA filter next to the printers. Id be more concerned if I was printing with ABS or other more abrasive materials.
wtf mine doesn’t have a red 115 volt switch
Really. I wonder if that is an updated version
Man this sounds like every single printer review going over basic stuff. My Athena 12K is not all rainbows and unicorns because there’s issues with the printer. The menu screen and navigation is not intuitive, setting it up is not intuitive which you didn’t go over. the most important thing is when you use lychee to select a resin it becomes even more confusing. even changing resin parameters is very confusing because it’s different menu settings that this printer needs. When you change something on the slicer, it doesn’t carryover to the printer with the sliced file. You have to manually create a new resin profile of the ones based off the printer. It’s just too much going on and there’s no instructions on how to do it properly. I’ve had one successful print in the past two months of own this thing and things don’t stick to the build plate very good. This is how reviews should be done not someone that’s only outlining all the positive things to overshadow any of the problems that happen. Again, my printer or printers FDM and resin go nonstop 24 seven so I have a lot of hours accumulated to have issues come about.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I agree it's not all bells and whistles. For me, specifically with the delays. As for usage, I have only had it for about 2 months and havent experienced any of the issues with print failures or prints not sticking to the build plate - in fact the adhesion has been great for me and removal of prints has been a non issue compared to other resin printers I use regularly. For my usage the existing profiles have worked for all of my Resin prints and any updates I make in Lychee have carried over to the printer just fine. My review was only based on my usage and first impressions over the 2 month period, so your input is greatly appreciated. The only other issue I experienced was keeping it connected to wifi, however, that issue was resolved by moving one of my access points closer to the printer. Overtime we'll see if I run into any of the same issues, and I definitely will report them in any follow up videos that feature this printer. Everyone's situation is different and Im glad you shared your experience and issues because it lets me and others know what to lookout for. Especially, for such a pricey printer that has had so many delays and build issues prior to it shipping out. I will continue to share any issues I run into overtime, and I hope you and others do as well
Seems like a printer thats one or two generations behind on features tbh and costs more than competitors for no real reason.
Unfortunately with the delays, other brands have released newer more updated Resin printers that can better compete, however, the force Sensing technology is still pretty nice. The output and quality of the prints are amazing as well, but the price is a little offsetting now knowing what else is out there with other brands. Still a solid printer though. Athena just missed the boat in terms of timing because of all the delays and lost the opportunity to make a big splash and impact on the market.
I only clicked to find out where to get that xenomorph model from the thumbnail. No links to any of the models used in the video, and as far as I can tell the one in the thumbnail is not even shown in the video.
Yea I apologize for not including the file link. I did have footage of the Xenomorph and other nicer prints that I wanted to use in the video, but the SD Card with all that content got corrupted. As for the link to the file itself, you can find the Xenomorph stl using the following link: www.gambody.com/premium/alien-xenomorph-birth?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA57G5BhDUARIsACgCYnzoBe46DbRr7TzfX7lbH4wLyQQjqteXuBSLuUR8ABumPGEpsYGrh50aAsINEALw_wcB
Are there any recommendations and links to print files that you would recommend I attempt to print using the Athena Resin 3D printer? Let's really challenge this printer and see what it can do
Sunlu Filament, Resin, and Products: www.sunlu.com?sca_ref=3978834.HQTToSJ2VH Coupon Code: HQTTOSJ2VH
Less than 24 h of work until preinstlled hotend dies. But great support with fast responces
What material were you printing with? I use mostly PLA and PETG and so far so good. I have been having more adhesion issues lately though.
@@3uilDStudio on this printer only PLA
Definitely just place the objects on a raft of small supports to avoid the bottom of model breaking when attempting removal. You can still keep it level but just elevate the model 4mm off the build surface then place supports as a raft. You can also try lowering the bottom layer exposure time to allow easier model removal, but you may then get more inadvertent print failures from the suction forces.
Thanks for the great suggestion. The bottom supports work great. I also noticed that if I do auto-supports it will automatically add supports to the bottom. Thanks for the advice!
Is this printer better than the sovol 06
I cant say. I havent used the Sovol 3D printer, however, I heard it was a great printer.
Have you tried painters' tape? Any prints with Carbon Fiber? the older units you flipped the build plate for the carbon fiber prints as the plate was 2 sided ?
I havent printed on this printer with Carbon FIber. Does using Painters tape help?
It continuously gets better with over-the-air updates, so even if you get it now, updating the firmware will ensure you get the latest enhancements and improvement. If you have the money, I would recommend it. I dont think the hardware and configuration will change and any enhancement will be made on the next version of the 3D printer - the Saturn 5. 😀
Thanks so much man!
Do you advise me to buy a P1s printer is there any cons in it
I love my P1S. Cheaper than the X1C but with the same great performance!
Great review, and awesome blue resin. Really cool.
Thanks. I love the way everything turned out with the crystal blue resin!
@ also. I have added the Ultra to my table of printers! I haven’t printed with it yet, but can’t wait to see how it stacks up against my DLP machines! Keep printing!
You can’t lift 80 pounds 😂
It's definitely not one of the lighter printers out there. Not as easy to lift as a Bambu Lab printer.
Printer ir quite nice, but WiFi options are Very Limited
Which options were you looking for? Always looking for suggestions and feedback that I can send back to Elegoo and manufacturers when I review their products.
@@3uilDStudio not sure why, - but my last comment has disappeared, - will write again (even a bit more) and will print screen it. Dont get me wrong, hardware is very nice and it prints fast and I do enjoy the printer, But if for someone wifi is essential please read below. No magic, - Wifi is limited to LAN, you must be at the printer site to use the same wifi or use additional remote desktop software to connect to the computer which is in the same LAN as printer. Most annoying thing, - Wifi options are Limited to Chitubox slicer ONLY, - and yes, you can use it in Free Chitubuox version, HOWEVER, if wifi transferred .ctb or .goo file was created by any other slicer (for example Lychee) it will not print, it will start print, but will stop while burning the first layer with "incompatible file" message. It is Most annoying!!! As User literally Must Slice and save/transfer the final file using Chitubox. So if someone paid for any other slicer previously, - he will be made to enjoy using at least 2 slicer apps or ditch the paid one and pay for Chitubox... Beautiful... Further more, Chitubox will not provide full spectrum of wifi usage options, only basics, - Upload/Delete print file, Start/Pause/Stop and Download the timelapse (funny, not essential, but you cannot manually delete any timelapse files, as Elegoo support advised, it deletes automatically after 20 files threshold is reached, or, read carefully, you need to format and factory reset the printer (later enter wifi passwords and etc). There are no options to check the temperature or move buildplate (up/down) via wifi. So if your printer is far and once job is finished and all droplets fell, you want to move it to the top and come pick up the model, - you will not be able to do it remotely. And yes, you can watch how print goes via wifi camera, but if you print small parts, - you will see the buildplate in/under the resin most of the time :). I print larger items, - so camera becomes handy after few hours of print to check if any supports have collapsed and stop the print if needed (And no, AI camera has never stopped a failed print for me, not sure what "AI" does at all, just and advert, like it was with "Quantum" almost a century ago.). To finalise, if wifi is the selling point for you, - maybe ... maybe... think again... Also, be prepared to be chained to the Chitubox The rest is very SOLID, and Elegoo support comes back quite fast via email or redit, - without asking of your purchase invoice number and etc (I had no broken/malfunctional parts, only the software issues I described above).
Funny, just 5min after my LONG comment, - Lychee released new version which does HAVE wifi support for S4U. Not tested yet, - so my comment above (which does not yet show up), may be irrelevant, at least for Lychee users... I Will test this evening once I am back home
If it compares to printers that are 800 to 1000 its a superior product
Thanks for the video. I was able to connect to my printer over wifi. It wouldn't print directly from Cura, but I could go to the IP address via Chrome and upload and print the file that way. I prefer this method as the usb failed me twice on big prints. I found this video that shows how to go about getting it set up. Hope it helps! ruclips.net/video/KpEkrja5XBg/видео.htmlsi=0FU2e9LMrnOgl2CU
Thanks for sharing. Still having some issues, but its getting better with every update. Right now the biggest issue im facing is the leveling
Nice getting a sponsor for 1K subs
Unfortunately the P1S was not sponsored. I had to pay for it out of pocket. It would be amazing to get sponsored by Bambu Labs one day... The printers are still the benchmark for me. Cant wait until they release a printer with a larger build volume.
Drinking game: One shot every time "itself" is said.
😂
4:18 that's orange not green. 😂
Thank you for the video
the dragon would have probably have been more stable if you use supports to print it. just try that out once
Will do. I also made it bigger in my second attempt and that turned out much better
Everybody has this video 9 months ago. How about a follow up video?
Good point. I need to do a follow up video to get some recommendations from the community to address and fix some of the issues Im facing with bed leveling.
Hello. Great tutorial, but I am Having trouble pairing printing via bambu handy on my iphone. The QR code is no longer showing on screen and i dont know how to get it back again. Can you help???
Have you tried removing it completely and re-adding it? I assume you are connected to the same network. Only other thing that I can think of is to maybe reset the X1C to factory after removing it completely from the handy app. Let me know how it goes.
por que elegoo no tiene los settings de sus resinas en un archivo para importarlo a chitubox? tanta tecnologia pero hay que cargar parametros manual mente
I was just thinking that as well, but for other manufacturers resins.
Purchase using the following link: elegoo.sjv.io/4PZOXG
Man , you need to do more gym 😂I was unboxing this printer as well , and it’s was much easier for me 😊Great review!
Haha. Yea. Its been a while since I worked out. This printer is definitely not as light as others, but the struggle was real. I definitely need to get back to the gym.
Sounds like you may have not understood hot to use a printer, or this one….that print should have taken about 35 mins. And it is a flex plate….you should have easily got it off had you removed the plate and kept it clean etc.
Im actually having issues with adhesion now. Prints just wont stick to the plate
My S1 arrived yesterday, I haven’t had time to open it yet, thank you for sharing
How is yours working out for you?
I admit to being new to 3D printing, so I may be mistaken. However, my P1S software has recently updated to 1.06.00.00 so I checked, and what I discovered appears to be relevant. If you own a P1P or a P1S, you may have seen that a new firmware, version 1.06.00.00, The new firmware brings some welcome changes. However, regarding event conflicts with Bambu Cloud service & potential damage to printer hardware by prohibiting crucial printer controls through the local MQTT Broker while the printer is logged into Bambu Cloud service, it states, if you own an XTouch or BigTreeTech Panda Touch display, or use Home Assistant to control your printer, updating to 1.06.00.00 will prevent them from initiating a print, heating the nozzle, and heating the heatbed. That doesn’t mean those are rendered useless, but it cripples what they can do. Bambu’s technical explanation. Before this firmware update, the printer’s local MQTT Broker can process control commands under cloud mode. This meant that two asynchronous channels were controlling the printer simultaneously. The commands from these two channels would execute in an overlapping manner without any order assurance, which is considered conflicting. Any thoughts, I’d like a touch display, but think I’ll wait to see the position regarding Bambu offering one as a chargeable replacement. Cheers Noel
Nice! Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!

This will never replace the bamboo these guys might make decent-looking Hardware they don't put time into the software and finishing the product from they've been building machines that been doing this so any of you guys who think that this machine is going to get rid of bamboo not in a million years bamboo put time into their printed not like this clown company who rips people off you guys need to stop promoting these garbage printers that they keep putting out here
It actually does a really good job and I have been pretty impressed since I received my unit. I purchased this using my own money and FLSUN isn't sponsoring or paying me. The print quality of the Bambu Lab printers is slightly better, but only by a small margin. I too was skeptical at first given my experience with my previous FLSUN printer, but I definitely don't have the same issues I had with the FLSUN V400. This one has been working great and is amazingly fast. If anything, like you I am biased and a heavy supporter of Bambu Lab, because I own every Bambu Lab printer, but this FLSUN S1 has won me over. It's a solid machine (so far) and I haven't had any issues with software or hardware. I'm also not sure where you assumed it was mentioned that this would get rid of Bambu Lab. Bambu Lab is the gold standard to which most people compare consumer level 3D printers. It's just a different flavor and different type of 3D printer for those who might prefer Delta Style Printers or owning a variety of different style of printers, and until Bambu Lab comes out with a much faster printer (which Im excited for) this one has set a new standard when it comes to speed.
1 simple print, then you reached a review? Nope sorry. FAIL. Pandering to Anker for more swag... not very professional. I dont think I will return to see your reviews. Others actually used it for a week and printed at least a dozen items.
Just an fyi... Your focus is off. It focused on the box instead of you, so it was killing my eyes a bit when looking at you. 😅
Thanks. I updated my camera settings for future videos
I've been interested in the S1 but not enough videos for me to pull the trigger. Creality is coming out with the K2 Plus with 350 cubed build area and I imagine Bambu will have a large build area machine in the near future. I think noise is a problem in that most hobbyists will have a printer in a spare room (home or apartment). I wondering if you could line the inside with some foam to dampen the noise level; also seen some sound baffles put onto the top of the unit to minimize dbs. Keep up the videos.
I'll be reviewing the K2 Plus soon - when it arrives. I am impressed with S1 though. I have done several prints now and so far it has not failed a single print.
@@3uilDStudio Nice. I'm drawn between the S1, the K2 Plus (if it lives up to its claims) and the rumors that Bambu will make a larger build area printer with AMS and or even a multi-head machine like the Prusa XL but obviously at a lower price point. I think the future is for those that focus quality, speed, AMS, customer service and a larger build area.
@@theVariedLife Completely agree!
Nicely done, clear unboxing video. Thanks!
Dudes color blind lol
To access the printer wirelessly, go to the WLAN menu and take note of the IP Address. In FLSLICER, access the printer using the same IP address. NOTE: You will also need to make sure you are on the same network. For example, if you have different wireless network / network extenders or mesh extenders, make sure you are on the same network.
It's exciting to see competition moving the industry forward in the right direction. Although the features are very nice, nothing about this machine moves me to upgrade or replace the Bambu.
I still love my Bambu printers, but I will admit... Since I got this, I have used it for most of my prints. The size of the printer is inconvenient, but the speed is Great. Waiting for the next Bambu Lab printer and hoping it will match or exceed the S1 Speed and have a much bigger build plate
@@3uilDStudio Agree that a larger build-volume would be far more convenient than speed. However, the technology is a blast to play with.
What happens when Bambu decide to update their software. There’s no guarantee that this will still work. In addition there are rumours that Bambu are acknowledging customer demand for an LCD screen, for the P1S, and are looking into selling an upgrade. 😊 I’d buy one…..
on amazon panda touch says they will not provide a refund due to bambu lab firmware update 😂😂😂
Good to know, but mine is still working after the latest firmware update.
It printed the boat but anything else I’m trying to do it’s just moving around but it’s not building nothing
Hi there, has anyone here actually received their printer? I am one of 10 others in Australia who have paid for it and keep getting the run around for 2-3 weeks from FLSUN directly. They keep making excuses about shipping even though when we all purchased they were available on their site.
regarding the clip on the belt it s written on the furnished manual
Thanks. I missed that
I am so happy that the display is at the bottom of the device. 99 % of all users will put it on a table. Nobody wants to knee down in order to interact with the printer - your suggestion is ridiculous.
Have you had a delta printer before? They are massive, finding a stable table for them is not always an option, I also put mine on the floor because the floor is the most stable surface in your house... your comment is ridiculous.
I am a 1 percenter that believes a concrete paver stone is far more stable and sound dampening than a table.
That is true too!
With a chamber temp max of 50C this printer falls short. You would think that printer companies would have this in mind when designing a printer (with all the bells & whistles) that an extra 20C chamber temp would be achievable. This would absolutely open up a wider market base. Sorry. This printer is no good to me.
every 10 degrees and you have to replace another part compared to regular temp printer. When i started making my ht printer i thought it would be easy, right. Silicone wires, high temperature hardwired steppers, ht fans, different thermal expansion between aluminium and steel, heatcreep, 90% of the abl probes don't work past 60c, sealing the doors for better insulation...
@colaigor Totally understand everything you're saying. But you're pricing those parts at "single level" quantities not in 1000s. I will add, the shape of the printer doesn't lend itself to an efficiently heated chamber. the heat will rise to the top and be away from the build plate to start out. With that said, idk if I would even trust the 50degC claim. Might be that at the top but I doubt it at the build plate.
