Short, clear, no unnecessary talking. Nice tip with lifting the stand for spring mounting - I've discovered this mounting a stand on my first bike, after some fight, I must say.
Hi Guys! Earlier this year, I've ordered one of your center stand for my T100. Works great! It makes my life so much easier for chain maintenance and convenient parking. Thank you for answering my questions, for your prompt shipment, the overall quality of your product and the ease of fitting (however that spring can be a bit tricky to stretch...). I would definitely recommend this center stand :-) Cheers!
I just installed this on a 2021 Street Twin. I was not able to pull the spring into place with pliers, but I was successful using a long screw driver as a lever. I was also not able to insert the rubber stopper in the exhaust bunghole (heh) until paring it down some with a razor. I also did _not_ use a spacer for the feet (as the instructions described) because the shorter bolt did not have enough reach to fasten more than a thread or two (i.e. the feet did not seem securely fastened). Without the spacer everything worked fine so I just did without. That said, very happy with the product. Chain maintenance is now a breeze.
Having trouble stretching the spring? Try this, You'll need half a dozen or so small washers. With the spring off the bike bend it sideways and you will get a gap in the coils. Insert a washer, Bend it the other way and repeat. Keep going until the spring is long enough to fit on the bike. When done, move the stand to stretch the spring and the washers will fall out (might need a bit of help). Usually works...
I managed to get the spring on and off a half dozen times using screw driver for leverage. (like we used to do for drum brakes) unfortunately my spring isn't offset like the one shown in the video. It hits my silencer no matter what I do. Also the bump stop does not fit the Vance and Hines mount. I like the engineering behind TEC parts but it seems execution is lacking. I tried the slip ons and needed to stretch one with an expander and an impact gun to get it to fit the stock pipe. I think I'll just chalk it up to experience and spend a little more going forward.
Fitted one today. Very straightforward but stretching the spring to hook on definitely needs a technique, even following the video advice. Found that using an extended lever was the only way I could do it. Good product.
The center stand works well. The feet seem to have changed since you posted this & none of the bolts had any thread-lock pre applied. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I had to install the spring upside down (compared to you) to prevent it from touching the frame. Finally, the rubber stop is insanely hard to install. I spent more time forcing it onto the exhaust than I did on the entirety of the rest of the installation.
The hardest part for me was getting the rubber stop pushed into the stock muffler. Finally took some channel locks and squeezed it in. The spring bolt was tight fit between stock pipe, but did fit.
Just fitted the same unit to my friends Speedtwin but needed to loosen the standard exhaust to enable the spring pivot bolt to have enough room to be screwed in but other wise a pretty easy fit.
Thanks heaps for your info! Had difficulty finding instructions on Triumph website, but your instructions here are clearer and include useful tips I probably wouldn’t have found elsewhere. 🙏
Hi George, Just wanted to say thinks for a great centre stand. Ordered on Monday evening, and arrived this morning. Easier than i thought to fit, and even managed to do the spring the same way as you suggest. I have the standard exhausts on my street twin so had to tilt the exhaust bracket slightly to stop it hitting the spring.
Looks like sadly I will have to send the stand back to you. It has been professional fitted but I can’t get the bike onto the stand. It should be a gentle rock backwards. But is too much of an effort and dangerous. The stand has different feet to this one in the video. The feet are rounded and raised and not flush flat This is the issue I believe.
Hi George, I have had this stand recently fitted (today in fact) to my 2018 T100 and it’s an absolute pig to get it up (so to speak 🥴) The bike should just rock back onto the stand as per your vid George. The stand here in this video has flat feet. The one you sold me has round high heeled domino feet. This I believe is the problem. I may call you on this if you don’t reply here. I hope that’s 👌 ok. Cheers, Jamie
I've had center stands on a bike before. The biggest problem is hitting a hard bump and the center stand bounces and hits the ground. They also impede cornering clearances sometimes. Best thing to do is zip tie the center stand all the way up until you use it. I believe if you zip tie both sides you can even forgo using the spring because the stand locks in a back position.
I was going to buy one of these but it now comes with what looks like 40 mm diameter x 25 mm long pieces of bar fitted instead of the welded on curved feet as per all other centre stands, I don't think it looks right so I bought a triumph part
I bought one of these for my Street Twin, From Tec USA. The 13 mm spring bob, turned out to be a 14 mm. The stand is slightly different, generic for T100, Scrambler models as well has the Street Twin. After a lot of swearing I have come to the conclusion the hole in the fitting of the stock exhaust is smaller, using silicone spray, no way In hell I can get the rubber bung in place. The triumph rubber bung for side stand is smaller. The video was good and easy to follow otherwise.
TEC Bike Parts I fitted one of these on my Street Cup and it's been immensely useful, however, there doesn't appear to be a proper impact point with the stop bracket. Due to the bracket mounting position, the stand impacts the stop bracket at an angle and thus rotates it out of the way and slaps the silencer.
Just fitted one to a Street Twin with stock exhausts. Spring pivot pin wouldn't fit in the gap without loosening the exhaust and easing it out from the frame. The spring fouls the exhaust quite a lot when using the orientation shown in the video, also the same when using the different spring orientation shown in the fitting instructions. Using a third orientation it only fouls it slightly so that's how it went on. Couldn't stretch the spring to fit to the stand (looks heavier gauge compared to the video) so ended up attaching the spring both ends before inserting the pivot shaft which proved a lot easier so long as there is a second person to check the alignment on the left hand side. Find it difficult to lift onto the stand as there is very little accessible frame to use as a lift point, have to find a technique and practice. Don't know why Triumph are so stingy on their standard accessories considering the price they charge.
I have fitted main stand on my Honda sh 125, problem is that stand don't in erected position when ok but moving much more towards forward front wheel so its useless. What basically makesstand to be standing? Springs hold stand to be along the frame when off, but what obstruct stand not to be leaning forward. Hope you understand me, thank you for help
Hi George! I fitted a tec 2-1 tracker exhaust on my 2014 T100 and changed airfilter to K&N. I think my bike is consuming 12km/ Liter. I think it consumes a lot of fuel considering the changes I made above. I also smell fuel coming out of the exhaust and its pretty strong. What do you think is wrong?
Hi, doe's the MIl light come on ?. You may have a faulty injector or fuel pressure is too high. is the tail pipe black ? what map are you running ?. If you have O2 emulators I would suggest putting the O2 sensor back in.
@@TECBikeParts Hi, George! Thanks for your response. No light come on my spedometer, how will I check if I have faulty injector or high fuel pressure? My tail pipe is pitch black, I’m running arrow map, I used TuneECU for this. I don’t have O2 emulators, but I’m planning to install one. I‘m hoping that I did not install the pipe tightly, but I don’t hear any clacking or leaks from the pipe.
You could have a bad map from tune ECU, I would suggest you get a triumph dealer to install the genuine arrow map as this will be the easiest fix and most probable cause of the problem
@@TECBikeParts oh ok. We don't have a triumph dealer here in the Philippines but will try for a different map from TuneECU as I don't have a choice. Thanks so much George! Regards to Matt!
Hi it is on the UK site now and on the USA site soon. The rubber stop for the standard and V+H exhausts is included in the kit.we can also supply a stop bracket for non standard cans free of charge on request

Good video I ordered the center stand in 2023 and it seems to have two Springs one inside the other

I am wondering if the center stand works with a 2-1 exhaust

No - The frames and stands are totally different
What a great video! Will be fitting my stand on today!
