The number of times King Mabel vs. Diesel comes up in the worst matches list, i'm shocked his name didn't come up first.
The rock is actually correct, as the first king of the ring was Don "the rock" Muraco
Ivan did much better than I thought he would

And yet he didn’t eliminate himself fast enough.
Missed seeing Sullivan's adorable meltdown on this episode!

Although Sully is not here, I'm glad that we always have at least one giggly guest that fits in that gap of having not enough wrestling knowledge, always surprisingly happy to get a correct answer, and overall is just glad to be there!
Ivan has comparable Labrador energy for sure.

HUGE missed opportunity when Ivan was trying to recall Regal:

Pete…Bret Hart’s KOTR was incredible. 3 different match types against 3 different style opponents- Razor, Perfect and Bam Bam. Best 1 night showcase of Bret’s adaptability and he didn’t win once with his finisher. Dude, retract the shade.
Controversial opinion: I say Nakamura should’ve counted, as King Nakamura lead to Luke shooting on him in Monday Night War, and that was peak comedy.
“Have a bloody word with yourself, you’re on both shows! Put some fuckin’ effort in!”
EDIT: Pete is wrong about Brett because of three points:
1) Brett winning lead to his feud with Jerry Lawler. (“BURGER KING! BURGER KING!”)
2) Brett _carried_ the 93 King of the Ring PPV.
3) Owen only entered the tournament the following year due to being jealous of Brett and wanting to break out in his own.
Technically Don Muraco was known as The Rock before Dwayne took the name so anyone who said The Rock should get a point
To be fair Ivan was better at this than he was at being a faithful…😂

Imagine not rating Bret Harts King of the Ring win! Its very memorable, taking place in...y'know, that place. During a King of the Ring pay-per-view in nineteen-ninety...two thousand and...yeah, one of those probably.
Yes, and he had to wrestle 3 times in one night (over 45 minutes in total) to earn the right to call himself King. Back when the tournament actually meant something, and they didn't put the crown on unsafe workers like Mabel and Nia Jax.
Nobody is remembering the worst: Mabel.
What about Haku? Winner or taker?

Seeing people on PFK after seeing them on other channels in the family (Chaotic Neutral in this case for those who didn't see it) always throws me off so much. I still consider WT/PFK and NRB/CN as 2 completely separate things that happen to share people

This feels like Tempest should have specifically noted up front that the pre-PPV house show tournaments were included, as WWE hasn't always acknowledged those, for years they treated Bret in 93 as the "first ever."
A fun idea, you give each contestant a separate category and give the win based on percentage answered. For example, if you did KOTR, and a person answers 10 of them, 10/22. They get 45%. It might need tweaking but it could be fun for one episode.
After 4 seasons of Monday Night Wars it’s nice to see Luke finally win something

Bret Hart winning and getting beat down by Jerry Lawler was pretty memorable.
Ivan doesn't realize that watching a person breakdown live on the internet is one of the leading reasons we watch this show.
Pete's slight against Bret Hart's King of the Ring wins earns him the right to be fired from Wrestletalk.
1993 is one of *the* ultimate King of the Ring tournaments 😌

I was waiting for King Haku , then remembered he never won , he was given the crown when Harley Race got injured.

Been watching wrestling since I was 5 years old (1985) and for the life of me I do not remember DeBiase winning KotR.
Could've sworn Haku won it. I have crisp images of him wearing the crown and cape in my mind.
Yes, but not in a tournament. Beat Harley Race at 1989 Royal Rumble. Bobby Heenan in both corners. Haku had been wearing the crown in Race's absence and when Race came back they did the match to make it official. His coronation was 6 months prior in July 1988.

The reason they don't remember Bret winning it (Twice!) might be the first time he won it(1991) was back when King of The Ring was a special house show, not a pay per view, and the second time(1993) was the first ever televised King of the Ring.
