Everyone starts by blasting the torrent block on red shroom, but It almost seems like memory of grace on a red shroom is way more valuable around the 10-15min mark since it can tank a teams weapon progression, same with discards.
@@meatromney2012 Yeah, immediate discard (or within a couple minutes) could force a weapon drop. Given that they'll be picking the classes for the starting weapon, it could mix things up a lot. MOG 5-10min after and you could tank the new weapon upgrades, force no torrent at the half hour mark and they'll get stranded trying to get to late game areas with longer walks (specifically Bale/PK/midra would be huge hits).
@@PaperScarecrow I can see some cases but classes spawn with armour so unless they get heavy load, don't spawn with armour or decide to unequip it for some reason an early discard still won't really do much. imo it just needs to get changed to not allow armour discard at all or at most 1 armour piece being discarded.
@@PaperScarecrow If the discards were actually non armour it would be a lot better. A lot of the players mention this as well. You just toss some random armour and put on something else or nothing at all. Forcing you to discard either weapons or talismans means you need to equip other weapons on offhand/talismans with penalties to attempt to play around them. But then you get screwed on either weight or penalties so it's a trade off/risk vs reward and the decisions actually matter. Now pretty much every class starts with armour so you just throw that away and it barely matters. The reason they almost instantly go for torrent if possible is because at the start you do the most running around and the 2 minutes of no torrent are the most valuable. You don't kill anything for the first 15-20 minutes of the game a lot of the time, so you're literally just running. If you don't have torrent for that then you're gnna have a bad time. It's not really useful past the first 15-20 minutes either as they'll have zones to run through without torrent or boss fights and can play around it. Memory of grace is a huge coin flip every time. You can potentially snipe weapon progress, which is the best case, but then you have to hit the 1 minute time frame. Any other time it will likely just set them back 30 seconds to a minute at most. If the timing works out, they lose a couple of levels if carrying souls or have to reset the boss fight, which CAN be amazing if they're dealing with a terrible boss. But this isn't that amazing unless if the seed provides terrible weapons. I'd personally either try to snipe the weapon progress OR keep the memory of grace for the point where you are going for the last boss, because then they might also either be on one of the last checks or doing the last 2 boss fights. So they will be forced to either reset boss fights or do extra running near the end which is likely to give you a good time advantage as well.
What they need to do is stack memory of grace and then no torrent. Send them back to the grace and make them redo whatever route they were on minus torrent.
The jellyfish fall by the flooded area and the delay before radhan definitely didnt add up to 1:22 don't feel bad Aggy. I know even if you found mimic tear you'd never stoop to that level.
Losing to the mimic tear is just the worst way to lose anything in Elden Ring. Why the summons are available in challenge runs like this I'll never know. Yuck.
Wouldn't the refs know who drops the gesture? They know what seed it is, why wouldn't they just automatically mention it after they beat the enemy? Why is the onus on the runners...? Pretty fkn stupid, imo.

I think immediately using discard could be interesting

That Ymir run took 1:42
I just saw the first round
onto the second
same. they absolutely clowned chris and domo, was kind surprised they beat them by so much
Dam that Ymir run
The ymir fumble Sadge.
idk if im missing something but if youre two handing your weapon why would you ever pick ritual sword over the two-handed sword talisman?
edit: i now see that it's a "base game shop"
Is two-handed sword talisman available? Feel like everyone is sleeping on it? Never see them go for it.
It's randomized, right? They can only buy things from the Base Game with the Blue shroom. I bet if they find it they'll use it for sure!
@@MonkeyVoices ah only base game got it. Didn't know that thanks!
Dubious sell taking so long in enir elim 😔
What does the gold shroom do? I’ve never seen these matches before

Why is mimic tear allowed?
Why not?
@@Xirathen it stinks and is massively overpowered to those that find it. it’s like finding an op weapon but worse
@@user-ng4wt9bg4w challenge runners usually don't use spirit ash because it make boss fight less consistent
Moreover it's hard to make it works (level up, a build that match its use)
I feel like finding bloodhound fang's in random is way more usefull
Because it's in the game.
Also it's expensive as shit if you want to level it up so it can actually be a pretty big commitment in a run like this.

So you guys lost to mimic users. Wonderful
I agree. I assumed summons weren’t allowed. Weird.
