It was a flop in Hindi but success in Tamil. There is another movie of Kamala Haasan in Tamil called Mahanadi (1994). I don't think it is dubbed in Hindi. But the emotions in that movie would beat this movie. In fact I could not watch it the second time. It is so painful. Unfortunately that movie also did not do well in the box office
