I saw this at the London science museum. I was visiting the city alone, and say in this room watching and listening for about an hour. I was the only person in the room. It was one of the most poignant moments of my life.
I sat through several cycles of this fantastic art installation when it was at the Skirball (L.A.) and later at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (S.F.). Unfortunately, it is difficult to document it properly to show its complex multi-phase program. When the LED display modules went into the meta-pattern phase I felt extremely elated, like being swept away by an electronic wave. I don't think that I have been able to reproduce that feeling of euphoria and an intense physical pleasure sensation in my head.
Saw this today, and I was completely overwhelmed. Sat there watching this for 30 min. without even realizing it. If you have a chance you must go see this!
This is just one of six phases of this precisely engineered high tech installation. There are also times when the entire array creates "waves" with the individual screens working in unified patterns. I saw Listening Post at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (SF) and at the Skirball Museum (LA). There were moments when I definitely had endorphin rushes.
I saw this installation in Aros, Århus DK. Mesmerized by the sounds, music and voice, I sat down and took it all in. Comforting and disturbing at the same time, it grants the viewer insight to an ever-changing mind map of human consciousness. I don't know how long I sat there. But I wish I could go see it again, rather sooner than later.
Same here... I was like a little spot in darkness alone in this room. One of the most relaxing and exciting thing I've ever experienced. Please go there! It is hard to explain, because the idea is so simple but so lively...
I took this in yesterday at the San Jose (California) Art Museum. These videos are a pale representation of the real thing. The visual and sonic impact is huge. Go see it if you have the opportunity!
I agree with the comments below - I appreciate that the video is "I am" but it is a pity that there are no video clips on here that capture the chaotic nature when it goes into multiple overlapping converstions. It was a very moving experience, evesdropping on the world, and reading and hearing some of the trivial and not so trivial conversations between living but anonymous [to me] human beings. I am just sorry I didnt video it.
I feel you bro, I had kind of the same experience yesterday. It was like the Internet was giving a hand to Philip Glass to write an electronic opera, mesmerizing shit!
This is only one of six phases for the LED display modules. The installation reads internet messages in real time and converts them into words and audio. It is a display of what is actually happening in the digital world of social media. It is quite an amazing thing to see this art piece in person.

I saw this live at the science museum, London. It was a very interesting experience. I was hypnotised and stayed there for a good 30 minutes.

2:25 Best moment of truth!
I could have stayed there for hours.
I actually did. One cycle was hardly enough.
