Rest in Peace beautiful Melanie. Thanks for being in my life so I could llisten to your songs...Still as strong as in the beginning when I was very young. Thank you, thank you
I was 17 when this song came out. I truly did and still like it. But the reality of the dreamers of that era is today a sad reality. All of this "beautiful" world picture that was painted meanwhile people were doing drugs everywhere and free "love" etc. It was a detachment from reality in the end. "Beautiful dreamers" out of touch with the reality that we face today.
You have missed the point. Melanie is singing about creating your own reality. By reaching out to other people who share your dreams/aspirations. It wasn't out of touch 50 years ago and it isn't now.
Was just watching her sing with Miley Cyrus...she always makes me feel good when I hear her sing...glad I got to see her in her hometown stomping grounds when she visited, saying it was good to be back home when she played at Monmouth University a few years back. She may have been born in Queens but graduated High School in Red Bank NJ. Rest easy beautiful person.
Put Melanie in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame posthumously. It's an unbelievable shame that she wasn't inducted in her lifetime. Such a generational icon and talent! RIP beautiful soul. Cheers\=/\=/
Were the audience told to sit still and not react?? Either way, we miss you Melanie. I'd hoped to meet you one day, but it never happened. I hope you're singing away with the other beautiful people. I'll keep requesting your music whenever I can. Sleep well. xx.

RIP Melanie
Beautiful lady, RIP
RIP, beautiful lady.
so beautiful. come on let us sing it too.
Totally unique. Such power out of that cute face. I was so smitten with this woman.
Me too, she was my celebrity crush back in the day; sadly no longer with us, but most definitely not forgotten.
Those great songwriters fill a generation and never happen again. No reason to wait for them to come along again on any radio station.
Nothing on radio now of any interest to me
Geweldig
Kom daar nu maar eens om...
Thanks you
RIP
Melanie

whats with the boring dudes around her??? she deserved such a better audience. love and miss you Melanie
They didn’t get a “beautiful people” button so they’re feeling a little butt hurt.
Were the audience told to sit still and not react??
Either way, we miss you Melanie.
