IMO the markets weight and shift importance from DXY/Bond Yields, News (Fed speak, CPI, etc), Mechanics (CTAs), Retail Gambling on daily options, Market Maker actions, geopolitical, and lastly Fundamentals. At the end of the day earnings do matter but less so than the impact of 'Stock buybacks and Passive ETF 401k Inflows'. Inflows into the Mag 7 and stock buybacks of $1 Trillion dollars this year have accounted for most of the index gains this year. I don't Trust the Fed that is trying to financialize away our national debts and deficit spending through inflation (3-4% rather than 2%) nor do I believe government numbers that are revised monthly. Markets are highly manipulated. Watching Bond yields tell you a lot on the long end.
Have Bob's funds using the 50-variable model actually beaten the SP500 over a reasonable long time? I guess NOT, but correct me if I am wrong. Thank you!
