    I use my steeper most each and every day and I absolutely love it. When I first started buying David's tea I thought it was a pointless item but I think each and every loose leaf tea lover should own one.

    Thank you!! This was exactly what I needed. I use my steeper pretty much daily and of course I clean it but I had no idea how to take it apart. I thought I was going to need a new one. Now it looks like brand new 😁. My tip: try baking soda for cleaning stains. Wet your steeper, pour baking soda onto the stained areas and leave it for about a minute. Then use the slightly damp baking soda to scrub it clean. It's like magic.

    THANK YOU for this video!! I had never taken my steeper all the way apart, but dropped it last month and the bottom piece came off. I thought it was broke, until I totally took it apart (cleaned it well while I had it apart) and figured out how to put it back together. Took me many trys before it actually worked again. Love your videos! and CONGRATS to you and your new hubby :)

    Just a quick question, can I make a pitcher of iced tea with the steeper? If so,how ? is the steeper only good for one cup of hot tea?

  • @marnid2235
    @marnid2235 4 года назад

    REPAIR IDEA: I discovered this after watching your video...Great tips btw! FYI: 2 1/2 tsp = 1 Tbsp. too. I was ready to toss my steeper because my release valve, I think it is called...(the moveable base that releases the brewed tea into your cup) was stuck. It had been washed and put together incorrectly. Your tip regarding lining up the tabs from the valve/base part (bumps) to the notches (ridges) on the pitcher helped me figure out why it was stuck. I removed all other parts: the filter, the silicone nipple and silicone seal. At this point I used the end of a wooden spoon and a mallet, gently I tapped on the centre stem/pin and voila! the release valve or base popped out. Thankfully, I was able to follow your instructions and reassemble my steeper correctly and save it from ending up in the dump and saving me $20-$30 bucks. Thanks a bunch!

    Thank you for this video, you got me addicted to DT and now I just can't stop... I absolutely love the Steeper and use it for absolutely everything. I would enjoy a video about the full deep cleaning progress if you don't mind since I used it with some of the dessert teas for lattes and now the entire steeper smells a bit sweet, even for herbal teas and I don't know how to fully clean it out the best I can.

    Love the video! I was debating whether I was going to buy it or not ☺️ thanks for helping make up my mind. I do have one question. How hot should the water be? Can it be used right after it stops boiling? I have an electrical kettle. Also, can I leave it steeping longer than suggested? Again, thanks for the video!

    Does the steeper fit over any average size cup?

  • @SF1906Survivor
    @SF1906Survivor 5 лет назад +5

    I am always confused when it comes to the DAVIDsTEA steeper. My issue is there are no “fill to here” lines on the steeper such as “fill here for hot tea,” or “fill here for iced tea.” Now the directions give the ounces to fill it up with. But I noticed you don’t use a measuring cup, and neither do they use a measuring cup when I go inside of a DAVIDsTEA store. So is it just by experience you know what the milliliters are or the ounces are? I’m always worried that I’m going to add too much water for hot or iced tea, or not enough water. Any comments you have on this would be appreciated, because I would really like to use the steeper. When I use the various DAVIDsTEA tea presses, for example, they do have lines on the tea press as to where to fill the water for hot tea or for iced tea. But for some reason there are no “fill to here” lines on the steeper. Thank you from Los Angeles :-). And congratulations to the both of you on your wedding °o°

    • @DanaDeStefano
      @DanaDeStefano  5 лет назад +4

      Thank you!! It is weird that there aren't "fill here" lines, especially since it comes with instructions for the different teas you can make. For a hot tea, I fill it almost all the way to the top. For an iced tea, I used to use the David's Tea logo as a guide and fill to about there, but looking at my new Steeper, the logo is much lower than it was on the old version. A good rule of thumb for iced tea is to fill it about half way. For lattes, it should be super concentrated so I fill it a little more than just enough to cover all the tea leaves. I hope this was helpful!! Thanks for watching!! 💕

      Here is a suggestion from a friendly peruser. Fill the cup you are using with the water first, then pour it into the steeper. As long as you do not overfill using your cup, you should have a perfect cup.

    • @DanaDeStefano
      @DanaDeStefano  4 года назад +2

      I would soak it with a denture cleaner tablet!! Those work miracles for removing tea stains. I'd probably soak it overnight and then try to scrub it out with dish soap. I hope this helps. Good luck!!

    Thanks for sharing! Question - is the steeper a true 18 ounces? Being that the mug is 16 ounces I thought it would fill much higher, even overflow.

    • @DanaDeStefano
      @DanaDeStefano  5 лет назад +1

      I don't think it's 18oz. I guess I didn't fill it all the way to the very top, but since the lid part of the steeper is slanted, you can't really fill it all the way or else it'll spill. Definitely didn't fill the cup all the way, so I think you're right!

      Thank you!! I just love tea and tea wares lol and try to focus my channel around the things I love! And since I've worked at DT and a few different service industry jobs since then, it makes me sad to watch videos where people tell stories of bad experiences they've had in stores. It's one thing to provide feedback and give constructive critiques, but totally not cool to go to the internet to publicly shame employees who are just following corporate rules and doing the best they can. Thank you for watching my videos! 💖
