Yes soda is unhealthy and I had decided to quit once again today…I am a Diet Cokeaholic 🙁…I’ve quit so many times keep coming back for the caffeine as I don’t like coffee. I won’t be getting much done the next week as I detox and deal with the headaches……once again! We don’t have garbage or recycle pickup here…I dealt it yesterday what a job!
I have so much to do in my basement, but it's been put on hold due to the death of a parent. I'm busy going through my father's things and dealing with my mother's loss of her spouse of 75 years. The fact that you keep plugging away keeps me determined to focus on each day as it comes. Thank you so very much. Your videos have been a blessing!
Oh Terry, I am so sorry for your loss...I hope you are being easy on yourself! Wish I could give you a hug... Take care, dear friend!! I am so thankful my videos are helping you! 🌹😍
I spy a brown plastic Hannaford bag. I miss those, they were so handy! Chip, chip, chip away, my all-or-nothing thinking has such a hard time with that although, I know it’s what works. If you give a mouse a cookie declutter, lol perfect analogy.
Yes I miss those too!! Now I have to actually BUY small trash bags for my bathroom!!! 😉 I have struggled with all or nothing thinking too which is why I bring it up so much!! Such freedom when you *do what you can*! Overall I get way more done too!! Thanks so much for being here and have a great week!! ☀️☃️
I wish we could get money back for returning cans and bottles. I’m in Ontario, Canada but I think some of our provinces may do this as well. I recycle but I would much prefer to take them back and know that they definitely are being recycled and get some money back as well.😊
You are doing it!! 🎉🎉 June 1988, I was about to give birth to my firstborn. 😎 What a nice find! I’d file your journal in a keepsake box. 💝 Well, I finally sorted through some paperwork I’d been avoiding! And organized the hall closet! Yay! 😃 My next quest is organizing/purging under the laundry room cabinets! 🤪 God bless, my friend! 💕🌸
Hi Amber!! That is so cool that you were expecting your first child at the same time. I love hearing everyone's stories! You're killing it over there with the decluttering and organizing! So awesome!! 🎉🎊😎 Have a great week, dear friend!! 💖
Yes!! You get me, Michelle!!! Of course, if I ever do get to the *end* I will find another area of the house that needs to be done!! 🤣 We're in this together!! 🌹💝
Do you not have kerbside recycling there? We have a collection every two weeks and have a bin provided which holds it all until collection. Our municipality does this as do most in Australia. The alternate week is a green waste collection which is garden and food waste. We are about to have an additional bin for separating out glass from the paper/metal/plastic. We do have to take our soft plastics back to the collection point at the supermarket or the grocery delivery person takes them for us. Much easier!
We have no trash pick up where we live. You have to pay for private collection here. We take cans and bottles to our store if we want the money for them. Thanks for sharing, Yvette, and for spending your time with me! I appreciate you! 💐💗
You my dear are a whirl wind! You’re truly an inspiration, I watched this video last night but got pulled away before I’d left a comment! Once my grand kiddies had gone home I headed upstairs and tackled the shelf in our wardrobe, it’s a bug bare it really is, it’s a dumping ground for paperwork, honestly the plastic box is sitting right next to the pile but hubby just adds to the pile until I lose my cool, then he tackles it. 😂 Great job in the basement again my lovely, great to see you as always. Love and light winging their way to you from me.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks so much sweet friend! I feel like every flat surface is always a great spot for a dumping ground! It is a constant battle!! Thank you for your friendship!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
You go girl !! I can't believe how nice it really is down there.. soon you won't have boxes down there. If your son is like my kids DON'T TELL HIM 😂😂 surprise him lol
Your welcome we are doing things together!! A lot more fun that way. I was going through my sewing stuff today putting likes with likes and everyone was i told was that's nice ugh No that's great I have put that off for ever. So anyway my point is. I don’t know if you do it in the US but we take the tabs off the soda cans and they are melted down and made into wheelchairs for children. I’ve been saving them for years and I know several people who collect them and then donate them. It’s worth looking up.😊
Wow, Debbie, so cool!! I knew that they could be donated for charities but never found where I could donate them!! Thanks for mentioning it, dear friend, and have a great week!! 💝
Imagine standing behind you and all your bottles in the line at the grocery store. *lol I´m so impressed with your motivation. Mine is not available at the moment. Sending you love! ♥
Hi Joy!! They actually have this little shed with a window. I have a bar code I stick on each one so they know it is me and I just put it through a window like opening! So…no line though that would be fun!! 🤣 Then I have a card to scan to get my money at a later date! I hope you can rest and do something fun to be refreshed, dear friend! We all need those times! 💝💐💝
Love your intentional, inspirational philosophy of tackling corners or 15 mn areas because once you get in the mode, you’ll find that 15 mns is really just a great warm up because you find motivation to keep on going! A little bit of future advice is to remove the stickers on your bins prior to placing your identification stickers. It’s a small thing but I find it really helps to eliminate visual clutter. Best Wishes💗
Hi Jody!! Thank you so much for that encouragement!! You are so right! The strength is definitely in the starting! We stay with what we start with! I went way further in this one then I planned on! And you are right about those stickers… Thanks so much for being here, dear friend!! I appreciate you!! 💕💐💕

Red rover, Red rover, Karen bring those totes right over! All the misc totes would be perfect for a container style garden. One or two tomato plants and in no time you’ll have fresh tomatoes! Or peppers. Or potatoes. I can finally toss all cardboard without flinching but totes I still try to squeak one more purpose out of them. /Hey I know you just got the flat bin for wrapping paper but would one of those other long totes also fit the paper? Could add more things to that shelf with a more stackable tote. / I’m a one coke a day girl here. And our water is horrible so I go thru many water bottles a day. Ohio does not refund anything for recyclables sadly. So many just toss their bottles and cans and cardboard in the trash. 😖 I have a toter for recycling that my trash company picks up every other week. I have a tall kitchen trash can for items and by weekly trash day it is full. So I began just taking the recycling out to the toter and leaving it there when I take the regular trash out to the trash toter weekly. Gets it out if the house and I stopped having to deal with all the extra bags and bins in my garage or breeze way. /Is there an advantage to taking so many bags to the store all at once? Otherwise might be worth considering taking to store every trip you go. Just a thought! /You’ve been a real energizer bunny on this garage project. 😃😃. It’s helping me clear out stuff as well. Little bites. Amazing how much better it is getting with little bites done! Take care! Hugs, Em. 🌷❤️🌷❤️🌷❤️
Yes!! Little bites for the win!! Wish I knew that when I was young!! 😉 I forget about tote gardening… may need to keep them after all! Our water here is amazing! So sweet but I think it is literally spring fed water coming through my tap! Thanks so much for all of the suggestions! I’m listening!! 💝❤️💝
Thank you, Heather!! I was feeling energized by my progress…that and I edit myself a lot less! I know you all are my friends so I feel safer to be *me*! Thanks for being here with me! 🌺🌸🌺
Way to go! I had an idea for my fabric bins while you were discussing yours. I used them in my last laundry, but they don't work in my new space! Have you considered returning cans and bottles during your regular grocery run? That's what we did when we lived in a state with bottle deposits. Love that you organized and paired down the empty bins! ❤️
Yes, bringing the bags when I get groceries would definitely be the ideal! Why don't I? Likely because I don't trip over them on my way to the door!! 😂 Thanks for being here, sweet friend! 💝
That evil laugh...hahaha. Such a mom thing. :D The homeschool stuff multiplies like rabbits somehow. I know I can pare my records down now that my daughter is in school (7th grade this year), but for now it's all hanging out in the attic. ;) You've motivated me to clean my dining room former homeschool storage! I have mostly cleaned it out but there are some holdouts! Need to just do it.
hey there....may I suggest for the bottles to have one of those containers for trash (in Italy we have a special bin) you put inside the sack, fill it up with bottles, when is full close it and put aside I dont know if I was able to explain....but it would be better than having bottles around and have to put them away when you cant see them anymore hope to be of some help 😅 u do a wonderful job love
Thank you, yes I understand! We were trying to do a free version by putting to bags in the big plastic box on the floor but the idea suffered from neglect! Our biggest problem is we need to deal with them at least monthly so they don’t pile up again! Thanks so much for your help and input! Have a great day! 🌹❤️🌹
@@ThisMainerMom you are such a lovely girl ♥️ I really enjoy watching you My mum has a problem with trash She steals mine to organize it ( there are 5 different bins here) and when it's trash day She Is so happy and says we are so lucky they pick it up 🤯🤣😳
Yup! I did that for the big one on the floor but our problem was we left it there if overflow!! 😕 Someone suggested letting the kids take over the task and then keep the money as that would motivate them to do it and keep it clean for me! Sounds good to me!! Thanks so much for spending your time with me and your friendship, Nadine!! Have a great week!! 💕💕
Thank you so much, Tina! I keep high school homeschool workbooks in case anyone challenges whether one of my kids did the work. I could probably grab out quizzes and tests and ditch the rest. Thank for spending time with me today! ☃️💝
Would it help to replace the big tote the recycling is kept in with blue laundry basket. It looks like you would be able to fit a bag to fill in it and when it is full close it up and exchange it for a new empty bag. That way it may not build up so full.
Yes, else also need to empty it when it’s full! It’s suffering from big time neglect!! Thanks for your input, dear friend, and for spending time with me today!! 🌹🌹🌹
Wow ! What a lot of space you made today. For some reason I was team keep for the tall blue basket. It just looked too useful to donate. Maybe bottle and can basket. Also (don't want to cause offence here) if your labels are written with chalk pen, they should be wipe clean. Abi is at Southport again so we are finishing our post Christmas catch up and starting an early spring clean while we have the time and can use her room as the spare hole in our domestic game of Chinese checkers. Still too cold for garage sorting but I'm stitching my way through some of the fabric stash while watching Olympic Ice hockey. TV series for you : Foyle's War. Police series set in WW2 about life on the home front. Maybe you can find it on the internet ? Take care 😘
Hi Barbara! Thank you much for the TV series suggestion!! I like to watch one episode of something with my husband before bed and I have a really hard time finding good stuff to watch! I hear you on the basket and chalk pen! Thanks for your helpful input! Love you, dear friend! 💕☃️💕
Are you mixing cans and bottles? I think in Michigan they have to individually feed each into different machines, but this way looks much simpler if they just do a weight for all of it mixed.
Karen! Lol who can do without a cold coke (pop) sometime? And I totally still have my Pampered Chef tote! I keep bypassing it when decluttering. You are so amazing! Could you use the blue basket to store the games on the shelve? Just a thought. 😊 You did an awesome job!! The basement is looking great! Thanks for motivating me today! ❤️

@@ThisMainerMom Karen, I still have all the gadgets and gizmos, stoneware, etc. I have slowly decluttered some of it - of course my kids quickly snatch it up and take it home with them. I had stoneware new still in the boxes packed back in my cabinets! I have decluttered tons of stuff but there is STILL so much. @@ThisMainerMom LOL, I thought of that song after i wrote the comment. Great minds think alike! 😁 I can’t just get rid of the stuff, it’s such good quality and I have had it for years and it still works. My kids grew up using PC and think any of my castoffs belong to them. 🤣 They are too funny. I had doubles & triples of most items and some things I had even more so I didn’t mind sharing. Plus it helped me clear a LOT of space in my kitchen. That’s how I roll, when I do something I go all in, and end up with multiples of pizza cutters, pastry cutters, cherry pitters, pizza stones, spoons, spatulas, baking dishes, etc. That’s why I am STILL decluttering. 😂 Have a great Friday! ❤️❤️
I would think it was mine too...😆...if it worked!! I only sold it for 18 mos. It is amazing how long that stuff lasts!! You must done well! I stunk at recruiting!
@@ThisMainerMom oh, that would make a lot of sense. The factories I have worked at would have them out on the shop floor, but it was like. Forklifts need to stay out of these areas, or nothing can be set in this space cause we have to have 3 feet of space around a fire extinguisher. Lol. It wasnt making sense in a basement. 🤣

Thank you so much, Amanda! I am so thankful my videos are helpful to you!! I graduated from High School in 1983!!! 🙃 Thanks so much for being here!! 😍💝
I understand! I love Diet Coke too! Nasty stuff!! Saying a prayer for you now!! 🙏
Great decluttering
Thanks so much, dear friend!! 💐♥️
Girl, you are ambitious :-) and inspirational
This one surprised me, Gina! I found motivation as I went! Thanks so much for stopping by! 🙌💐
Your so motivational . Encourging each other. praying for each other
Thank you so much, Sarah! We are all in this together!! 💗🙏
So glad to have found you. Your so entertaining 😁
Hello and welcome, Patricia!! I am so glad you found me too!! 💐❤️
I wish we could get money back for returning cans and bottles. I’m in Ontario, Canada but I think some of our provinces may do this as well. I recycle but I would much prefer to take them back and know that they definitely are being recycled and get some money back as well.😊
Yes! We have done this since I was a kid! Definite motivator! Of course you pay an extra .05 when you buy them! 💰
@@ThisMainerMom of course the 5 cents is upfront but at least it’s motivation to take them back.😊
Yes, for sure!
Lol, I’m almost to the end. I have said that soooo many times. No where near being done yet.
Yes!! You get me, Michelle!!! Of course, if I ever do get to the *end* I will find another area of the house that needs to be done!! 🤣 We're in this together!! 🌹💝
Yes.... good job 😍 looks amazing
Thank you so much, Suzanne!! I appreciate the encouragement!! Have a great week, friend!! 🌸🌺🌸
@@ThisMainerMom you to!! You are the best. Love watching you❤
Do you not have kerbside recycling there?
Fantastic declutter and organize friend! Did your sons end up taking their stuff?
Thanks!! He comes this Saturday!! Woohoo!! 🌺 Have a great weekend! ☃️
@@ThisMainerMom Welcome! Enjoy your time with your son and have a great weekend! ❤
It’s always so good to watch your videos!
You are doing fantastic in your basement decluttering!! 💕
Thanks so much, Regina!! I so appreciate your encouragement in this journey!! Have a great week!! 💐🌹💐
Great job in the basement again my lovely, great to see you as always. Love and light winging their way to you from me.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks so much sweet friend! I feel like every flat surface is always a great spot for a dumping ground! It is a constant battle!! Thank you for your friendship!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Karen, love the basement declutter. It just looks so good every little bit that gets done.
Cheers
Hi Julie!! Thank you! I am so excited!! Sometimes I don't feel like I am making progress but this one felt good!! Have a great week!! 💝☃️
You go girl !! I can't believe how nice it really is down there.. soon you won't have boxes down there. If your son is like my kids DON'T TELL HIM 😂😂 surprise him lol
Hi Judene!! Yup! Surprising him!! 🤣 I am actually beginning to not hate it down there!! Thanks for being here for the journey!! 💝💐
Your welcome we are doing things together!! A lot more fun that way. I was going through my sewing stuff today putting likes with likes and everyone was i told was that's nice ugh No that's great I have put that off for ever. So anyway my point is. You understand.. your basement looks great and am doing the happy dance for you 😂😂💙💙
@@judenebaer9997 I am doing the happy dance for you too!!! You are KILLING it!! I know how good it feels to make progress where the task has been put off!! You need to celebrate!! 🎉
Thank you
Aww you are such a breathe of fresh air. Love your videos. Great work decluttering the basement. Take care and blessings from my family to yours x
Thank you so much, Liz! That is the best complement I could hope to receive!! God bless you, dear friend!! ☃️💗☃️
@@ThisMainerMom well I’m just speaking the truth. You are always honest and didn’t hide anything or pretend. Look forward to seeing your next one. Lovely to hear from you x
What amazing progress you’ve made!
Thanks so much, Michelle! I appreciate the encouragement so much!! Have a great week, dear friend!! 🌹❤️🌹
@@ThisMainerMom maybe look in your area to see where they can be donated. Sometimes these small little donations can help.☺️
Yes, great idea!
Omg I'm trying to organize my basement too 😫
Well then we are in this together, Nayda!! Thanks for being here with me!! 💐
@@ThisMainerMom Ok that´s great. Over here there are deposit machines where you put one bottle at a time. =)
Hi there. I am new to your channel. But i am enjoing this video. Thanks for sharing your decluttering journey
Hi Kimmie!! Welcome! I am so glad you are here!! 💐
These videos are honestly oddly relaxing to me 🤷♀️😂 Is that weird 🤔 I don't know something about them puts me in kind of a zen trance and I'm like..."must...organize...something..." 🧟♀️🧟♀️🧟♀️
haha!! I actually use videos like these to help me relax so I can fall asleep!! Maybe it's this sick need to know others are working while I am sleeping!! 😂
So great to see you again Karen! You did soooooo well with this declutter! Love and blessings, karen x
Hi Karen!! Thanks so much for that encouragement!! Have a great week, dear friend!! 💐💝💐
Wonderful!!!🌺🌺🌺
Thank you, dear friend!! 🌹🌹🌹
Surprise the kids with decluttering
Surprising for the win!! 👏😂 Thanks for your input! 💐☃️
My family might not show up if they knew ahead of time ! Lol
Great, great job! I hear you on just when you think you're done, there's more!!
Yup!! I know it will never end! Somedays I think it will though! 🙃😆 Thanks for being here with me! It's so nice not to do all this alone!! 🌸☀️🙌
Another great accomplishment! You made me laugh out loud a couple of times today!! Love your sense of humour!!
Thank you, Heather!! I was feeling energized by my progress…that and I edit myself a lot less! I know you all are my friends so I feel safer to be *me*! Thanks for being here with me! 🌺🌸🌺

You got rid of sooo many things!! Yay!!! Thanks again for the video! I lovee long videos 🙂
Thanks, Jenny, it feels great!! Thanks so much for being here for the journey!! 🌷💗🌷
The homeschool stuff multiplies like rabbits somehow. I know I can pare my records down now that my daughter is in school (7th grade this year), but for now it's all hanging out in the attic. ;)
You've motivated me to clean my dining room former homeschool storage! I have mostly cleaned it out but there are some holdouts! Need to just do it.
Hi Tammy!! I agree!! Those papers multiply!! 🐇 I am so glad you are feeling motivated!! We got this!! 🙌🎉
hey there....may I suggest for the bottles to have one of those containers for trash (in Italy we have a special bin) you put inside the sack, fill it up with bottles, when is full close it and put aside
I dont know if I was able to explain....but it would be better than having bottles around and have to put them away when you cant see them anymore
hope to be of some help 😅
u do a wonderful job
love
Thank you, yes I understand! We were trying to do a free version by putting to bags in the big plastic box on the floor but the idea suffered from neglect! Our biggest problem is we need to deal with them at least monthly so they don’t pile up again! Thanks so much for your help and input! Have a great day! 🌹❤️🌹
@@ThisMainerMom you are such a lovely girl ♥️ I really enjoy
watching you
My mum has a problem with trash She steals mine to organize it ( there are 5 different bins here) and when it's trash day She Is so happy and says we are so lucky they pick it up 🤯🤣😳
Great video #bingewatchingfromTampa :)
Wow! You go girl ⭐️
Woohoo!! Thanks for being here for it, Sharon!! 💕💐💕
Lol, just surprise him!
Yup! Tomorrow is the day!! 🎉🎉
Wouldn't it be easier once the bins are empty to put green bags in them so as you recycle you have recycling already in the bag?
@@ThisMainerMom that's a great idea. Incentive for them and a task off your to do list.
Yes!!
I love your decluttering videos. Why do you keep all of the workbooks?
Take care 😘
My husband and I watched Foyle’s War on PBS several years ago. We both enjoyed the series tremendously!
@@dorothy9618 It has been repeated on several channels here 🇬🇧. We always enjoy it.
Hi Barbara! Thank you much for the TV series suggestion!! I like to watch one episode of something with my husband before bed and I have a really hard time finding good stuff to watch! I have a Spring Clean video going up tomorrow so you and I are on the same page! I want it done before warm weather hits so I can enjoy the weather when it’s nice! I hear you on the basket and chalk pen! Thanks for your helpful input! Love you, dear friend! 💕☃️💕
May be use those containers that you’re going to donate for items that are going to be donated. That way you can recycle all the cardboard boxes.
True, thanks for your input!! I hope you have a great weekend, Michelle! 🌷💗
Are you mixing cans and bottles? I think in Michigan they have to individually feed each into different machines, but this way looks much simpler if they just do a weight for all of it mixed.
Yes we mix all returnables: cans, bottles and even juice containers that are large! Have a great weekend!! 🌺🌺
❤️❤️❤️
Hi Mel! Thanks for being here!! 💕💐
Hi Cindy!! Great idea for the games! They definitely drive me kind of crazy with their different sizes! I forgot you sold PC too!! I still have most of my baking stones from 30 years ago!! Thanks for being here! I so appreciate you!! 💗💐💗
Some days I wonder if I will ever reach a time when I can say- ok, I am good. I have just enough, not too much, nor too little. I look forward to that day!! Thanks sweet friend for keeping on, you totally inspire me! ❤️
@@cinderellafan362436 "I've got gadgets and gizmos galore!" 🎶🎤 I still have many original things though I use them constantly! I can imagine it's hard because it is GOOD STUFF!!
What are the blue lines on the floor?
I think from a game the kids would play down there!
yes. i miss drinking coke. but with my arthritis getting worse, its a definite no no. Its battery acid to the bones.
Oh goodness, I better quit my diet coke habit!!! Thanks for sharing, Lisa ann! 🥰☃️
👏🏼👏🏼☺️

That would be FUN!! I could probably get alot of volunteers to help me! 😉 Seriously though I am sure I could fit many more cans in the same space! Thanks so much for spending your time with me, Elizabeth!! 💖 Have a great week!! ☀️☃️
@@ThisMainerMom, you could rotate through the kids the responsibility of crushing cans. Each kiddo takes a month, and gets to keep the change! Cans have to be crushed and correctly bagged to be returned, and the bag taken out to the vehicle the evening before the recycling run.
Lol, you know you’re getting older when you get excited about decluttering.
🤣😆 That is so true, Michelle!! When I was younger I must have gotten excited about shopping!! That explains all this decluttering!! 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😆 Thanks for spending your time with me, Michelle!! 🌹
