Nate, thank you so much for putting this lesson out. This song brought tears to my eyes when I was just a kid. I realize now it’s the melody that really gets me. Didn’t take long to learn this song. Really appreciate all the great tutorials you post. Keep em coming. I will make a request…Cool Change by Little River Band. It’s a beautiful song. Would love to learn this one. Thank you

It's amazing how powerful and emotional a good melody can be, regardless of what words are sung. I'll check out that song -cheers!

What a Great Classic. Brian Wilson and Tony Asher were the American version of Lennon & McCartney. All a bunch of musical geniuses. Thanks for the great tutorial Nate. I would love to see more old classic rock.

Hey Nate!! Great tutorial. I have a question for you. I am looking for a keyboard. I have seen 2 options. Yamaha PSR-E273 61-Key Portable Electric Keyboard
Alesis Melody 61 MKII - 61 Key Music Keyboard / Digital Piano with Built-In Speakers, Headphones, Microphone, Piano Stand, Music Rest and Stool. Would you recommend any of these 2 . One of the drawbacks is that I don’t think they are weighted. Any thoughts? They are around the same price range.. or should I search for a better option?

      Hi Nick!
It is true that these are not weighted, which is definitely a consideration but unfortunately you wont find good weighted keys without going quite a bit above this price range. Not a dealbreaker. Depending on how serious you are about learning piano, i would consider investing in something a little higher end, but I totally understand that isnt always feasible.
What raises my eyebrows with these two options is neither is "touch sensitive" which means no matter how hard you press a key, it will trigger a note at the same volume. This also means that if you accidentally very lightly press a key adjacent to the key you intend to press, the mistake will be just as loud as the right now ha. It can be pretty frustrating and rules out a whole dimension of playing piano...dynamics
Looks like the one model up version of the yamaha (the PSRE373 instead of the 273) is touch sensitive for about $60 more. I would recommend doing that, or keep doing some research in your price range specifically for keyboards that are touch sensitive.
Let me know what you end up deciding!
