1. Quality of video? 2. "I'm too young to know cult classics" slash "I never had a childhood" slash "I'm older than TV, and I can do damn well without it." 3. The horrible acting of some of the small roles like goons and other bad guys in the show.
I LOVED Knight Rider; wish my little Corsa had such a good sense of sardonic wit. This was when Saturday telly was great; before Cowell got his grubby paws all over the schedules.
This series is awesome in being stylish, actionrich and everyone, even KITT and KARR awe very humanlike. That's why nothing else with the name Knight Rider ever worked: nothing else with that name could carry humanism or touch the viewer.
Bonnie: "Michael, you know all those times I've called you irresponsible and impulsive? I didn't mean it!" Michael: Bonnie, you know all those times I've called you bossy and demanding? I didn't mean it either!" KITT: Michael? Bonnie? Michael/Bonnie: Yes, KITT? KITT: WHY are you lying to each other? Probably my favorite exchange in this episode!
KARR's voice is the same voice that did Rankin'/Bass animation "Return of the King" (Aragorn Son of Arathorn) he was a lot of villains in the R&B Christmas specials and is a voice I grew up with. he was Paul Frees. you will not recognize his voice as he usually did his eastern European accent in animation from R&B.
He exploded some of his fuel. Didn't you notice how he goes through concrete walls like butter? He is found buried under the sand 2 years later by a beach comber.
Actually for those talking about the car going off the cliff at 4:32 not being KARR you are correct, it is quite literally "The Car" from the movie of the same name, the entire cliff dive is taken from it
Those brief glimpses of the bad guy grabbing Bonnie while she struggles to get out are AWESOME! LOL. SO cheezy, crappy, silly and unnecessary. KARR isn't going to let her out.
I watched this episode on TV when I was 6. I can't remember the details of this episode at that age until now. So Michael Knoght played chicken with KARR.
@jasoniscoolman09 , Karr's Voice in this 2nd Karr episode is Paul Frees. he was a voice actor who did voice work for Disney. Best known as the Ghost Host in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. The Original voice for Karr was Peter Cullen best known as the voice of Optimus Prime in the original Transformers series,
Ah yes, 'Trust Doesn't Rust'. While there were funny bits and more of KARR's backstory in this one, his return in Season 3's KITT VS KARR was even better in my opinion. It was enjoyable watching him try to change John, plus the soundtrack and voice change to Paul Frees was great.
woops, didn't notice your comment when I posted mine.. thought it was funny when I saw it on the DVD by chance, and wondered if it could be found easily on a YT video.. guess it can :-)
Karr : "I am the Knight Automated Roving Robot, far superior in design to my sister K.I.T.T.y."..... Kitt : "Nowww Karrrrr, there is no need to be rude, lest I remind them what you were mothballed for!"..... Karr : "But running over little old ladies was just plain fun."
@TheSteelersrock1010 I'm glad you agree with me not many people like the 2008 knight rider because it was not like the original. But it wasn't meant to be like the old one it's like passing the torch from father to son at least that's how I see it. I loved the Mustang Kitt the one from the tv movie I love the one from the show as well.Don't get me wrong but I love how the tv movie kitt transfromed into attack mode. That would be funny to see the two kitt but I would like to see the viper 2
I could see that happening. Using two Trans Ams for KITT and KARR. KITT's Super Pursuit Mode looks right, KARR doesn't transform into an actual robot. Maybe Hasslehoff makes a cameo in an episode or two. Although I think another good title is Knight Rider 2.0 or Knight Rider: The Next Generation.
i love this show. the only problem i have with this show is that each episode is another episode. there is never a continuous story in each season. michael gets a new case, meets a pretty lady, solves the case, kisses the pretty lady (and it is such a repetitive format) i kind of wished they constructed a giant plot where there is an ultimate bad guy that michael and kitt had to eventually confront (maybe like garthe and goliath) and it reaches the climax in the middle of the season
Yeah ...I laughed my butt off when I saw that too! Sooo many re-used car wrecks in movies. Here's your answer. from IMDB: The demonic car in this film was designed by George Barris. He modified a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III for "The Car." (though I'm sure it was a hunk of junk, slightly modified just at the nose that actually went over the cliff and not the "beauty" car).
He didn't? It's stock footage from the film 'The Car', which was a custom shell over a Lincoln chassis. So no '57 Chevys here. Not until Knight Rider 2000 XD
SilverSquall11 Whatever it was the point is it's poor film making when you can tell it's a totally different car during the stunt. Just add footage from another movie...lazy
Laziness had nothing to do with it. Using stock footage like that was very common in the 80's to stay within the show's budget. These days, the viewers are more critical and astute and stock footage isn't accepted as easily. Watch this show on a 30 year old television and you can hardly tell it's stock footage in the first place.
its actually spelled KARR, as his full name is the Knight Automated Roving Robot. Good episode, Trust Doesn't Rust is one of my favorites, as well as the KITT vs KARR episode in Season 3.
It didn't if you know the series and have seen all the episodes. KARR returned after going off the cliff and supposedly exploding. He was found buried in the sand by a couple teenagers and lured them to help him out then committ crimes. As for coming back after exploding in this episode...it was never explained but we can GUESS what happened. Perhaps old military ordinance washed up near the shore. KARR hitting it would've caused it to explode but he would've been largely undamaged.
It's a shame because a scene was deleted earlier in the episode where Kitt talked with Karr and both acknowledged that "being one of a kind is extraordinary" but being two of a kind was better" (something like that) Kitt had recorded that conversation and after Michael leaves Kitt alone after asking how it felt to be one of a kind? Kitt responds "Being one of a kind is a very familiar feeling" he plays back this conversation with Karr and begins to feel remorse that his brother is destroyed. Then he repeats that line again to himself as if he does have feeling and is sad. They so should have let that scene back in.
gutz1981 6:21 "...being one of a kind is a very familiar feeling" was a shitty line. Putting aside that KITT just said five seconds earlier that 6:16 he does not have feelings, who describes their feelings as familiar? With the deleted scene put back in, I'd have it go like this: 6:14 Michael: "How does it feel now that CARR is gone?" KITT: "As you know Michael, I do not have feelings, but now I know that I am the only one of my kind." Michael: "Right. Good night buddy." [Michael leaves] KITT: "I am the only one of my kind." [sad violins start playing] [roll credits]
yup it was no suprise to see stock footage of a bigger movie screen movie being spliced in to i saw that movie titled the car when it first came out in the theaters. this was common practice for 80's action adventure tv series interestingly enough glen a larason took credit for night rider but the more common kennith johnson was also behind it he did the incredible hulk which took scenes in one episode from the movie the dual
If they ever do a "Knight Rider" movie, the voice of K.A.R.R. should be voiced by Tom Hardy ("Bane" from "The Dark Knight Rises"). His voice sounds just like the late Paul Frees who voiced K.A.R.R. in the episode "K.I.T.T. Vs. K.A.R.R. Peter Cullen is my 2nd choice. He voiced K.A.R.R. in the episode "Trust Doesn't Rust".
@ultramander nope, he did have it because he already used it twice in this episode (once to get through a door that KITT blocked and another to get over a police road block) he also had it when he returned in the 3rd series too
Sure, that's a great title as a matter of fact, I'd just like to see more of the original cars in a real time setting. All NBC has to do is keep this format right down to the commercial break special effect and the fans will do the rest, but how do we rally together to make this happen? That is the question.
Who the fuck would dislike this. God this show was great and still is.
1. Quality of video?
2. "I'm too young to know cult classics" slash "I never had a childhood" slash "I'm older than TV, and I can do damn well without it."

I love Knight Rider! I remember watching this when I was a kid!
I LOVED Knight Rider; wish my little Corsa had such a good sense of sardonic wit. This was when Saturday telly was great; before Cowell got his grubby paws all over the schedules.
you could turn it in to K.A.R.R When you stick a chav in one hehehe
Fantastico .Sempre bello riguardarlo....non mi stanco mai !
he actually said "change COURSE at once" I thought it sounded like "cars" too when I first heard it lol
I can remeber this one, the jump cut from the car hitting the water to exploding is what makes me love this program
i still cant get over the fact that kitt is the voice of mr feeny.
can you get over the fact that karr is the voice of optimus prime?
I love all of knight rider it's my favorite show
1:15 "Why are you wearing heeled boots, Michael? You're not a cowboy. You'll scratch my paint with those things."
bring back my childhood memories.... :)
Peter Cullen, you never fail to amuse me.
This series is awesome in being stylish, actionrich and everyone, even KITT and KARR awe very humanlike. That's why nothing else with the name Knight Rider ever worked: nothing else with that name could carry humanism or touch the viewer.
"Michael, Bonnie, why are you lying to each other?" 4:09
+douggiedinosaur - best line of the episode in my opinion. Lol. It's kind of like a child asking his parents the same thing.
Mr Feeny vs Optimus Prime
haha yep
rmeddy1 or Venger from Dungeons & Dragons
Bonnie: "Michael, you know all those times I've called you irresponsible and impulsive? I didn't mean it!"
Michael: Bonnie, you know all those times I've called you bossy and demanding? I didn't mean it either!"
KITT: Michael? Bonnie?
Michael/Bonnie: Yes, KITT?
KITT: WHY are you lying to each other?
Probably my favorite exchange in this episode!
The first one is "Trust Doesnt Rust" in season 1, Peter Cullens did the voice of Karr.
Yes, Mr. George Feeny! Another great show. Pretty cool that Daniels had hit shows in the 80's and 90's.
+fucheduck and Spacemaster X7
Wow...I never realized how cheezy this show was...LOL...I still love it!
Good catch! And you can see the driver looking back too.
Don't be hatin on KIT and Michael. That's a love us mere mortals can only dream about!
Very good!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
lol! Loved the Feeny call...BMW was a fun show.
I always remember the chicken scene! Thank you for putting this on here!
Time flies
Nothing like Death...to make people repent lol.....cracks me up Michael and Bonnie lying to each other. lol.
I LOVE THAT VOICE OF PETER CULLEN FOR KARR, IT'S SAME VOICE FOR OPTIMUS PRIME FROM TRANSFORMERS.
Optimus Prime as the voice of KARR.
I love this show
So KARR chickened out and turned away to save himself - but dives off a cliff and explodes?? Not a great way to save yourself.
Ola
He exploded some of his fuel. Didn't you notice how he goes through concrete walls like butter? He is found buried under the sand 2 years later by a beach comber.
hey, it was the 80s
Good old days God i miss emm!!
good knight rider video
Wow! This is Hofful
Funny!
I loved this
Actually for those talking about the car going off the cliff at 4:32 not being KARR you are correct, it is quite literally "The Car" from the movie of the same name, the entire cliff dive is taken from it
My favorite episode from one of my favorite TV series
From 1982 to 1988, William Daniels must have been a very busy man!
Those brief glimpses of the bad guy grabbing Bonnie while she struggles to get out are AWESOME! LOL. SO cheezy, crappy, silly and unnecessary. KARR isn't going to let her out.
Yes , William Daniels did the voice as K.I.T.T. on Knight Rider, and played Mr. Feeney on Boy Meets World.
always loved KARR's green leds inside the car
If you pause at 4:33, that's clearly not KARR, it's the Lincoln Continental from the 1977 movie The Car.
This is one of my favorite.
Ur right fastcarsnorules220
+FastCarsNoRules220 Low budget scene
+FastCarsNoRules220 If you look at 1:45, you can see a foot and a leg through the back window.
truth! That was a good movie too.
Wow. I didnt know Karr was Optimus Prime. Cool. Its been 20 years since I saw this
They could even use the whole face reconstruction bit that they did in the first episode to explain the different actor.
I love the 80s hairstyle!
I like knight rider
I watched this episode on TV when I was 6. I can't remember the details of this episode at that age until now. So Michael Knoght played chicken with KARR.

best episode ever
KITT is amazing If only he was real! i would rather own knight rider than a Bugatti Veyron,
Damn, those are some fine boots.
I love Knight Rider its to bad they don't have quality shows on television anymore that's family friendly, everything's reality but who's reality? :(
I just found out that the guy that played Mr. Feeny in Boy Meets World is the voice of KITT! Mind blown.
I experienced the same reaction the first time I found out.
Me: X_X (mind blows up)
Ah yes, 'Trust Doesn't Rust'. While there were funny bits and more of KARR's backstory in this one, his return in Season 3's KITT VS KARR was even better in my opinion. It was enjoyable watching him try to change John, plus the soundtrack and voice change to Paul Frees was great.

Mr. Fenny as the voice of KITT.

Think you'll find the episode is season 1's 'TRUST DOES'NT RUST'.
'K.I.T.T. v's K.A.R.R' was season 3 with Paul Frees doing the voice of K.A.R.R.
4:33 HOLY SHIT. That cliff scene is from the movie THE CAR.
I thought for a moment Michael was trying to take advantage of his car insurance -- he would've gotten a new ride and Kitt 2.0.
How did Karr morph into a white 57 chevy as he is going of the cliff ? hahahahaha lame
He didn't? It's stock footage from the film 'The Car', which was a custom shell over a Lincoln chassis. So no '57 Chevys here. Not until Knight Rider 2000 XD

lol Bonny and Michael allmost huged each other!
Remember watching this video when i was 5 and wondering why it was short
Exactly, the storyline is still wide open, it CAN be done.
same here. hoping to find karr this week.
actually The Car is a 1977 lincoln mark 3 i know because i love that movie
"O.K., K.I.T.T., let's pour it on!".

Is it just me or does the original KITT look more futuristic then the 2008 new KITT
No I have seen them and they look more futuristic then the Mustang did. Especially with the black body.
2:29 Cars of the future have their own built in bongs.
I do love how KARR changed into another car as he went off the cliff
Hi There
Great video, but the Episode is Trust doesn't Rust!!

The "No!!" needed to be longer, like "NOOOOOOOOOOOO?!?!"
When he ran off that cliff all the explosion did to him was turn his scanner light yellow and his bottom half grey LOL
+Classic80sStuff MBS for the win! ;)
At 00.16 u see a guys reflection on the windshield before Michael jumped on the car...
Yeah. You have good eyes lol
If they ever do a "Knight Rider" movie, the voice of K.A.R.R. should

His voice sounds just like the late Paul Frees who voiced K.A.R.R.

He voiced K.A.R.R. in the episode "Trust Doesn't Rust".
This is Paul Frees?
He doesn't sound quite as Sauvé as he did in Gay Purr-ee.
Indego84 - Actually, this episode is Trust Doesn't Rust thus KARR's voice is Peter Cullen.
The 3gen f-body was a totally new design :)
Everytime I see this scene, I say the same thing. "Look a Thunderbird." That's right, the car going over the cliff is a Ford Thunderbird.
i want the serie back on TV :(
in childhood we watched.
Kitt says that "the feeling seems familiar" HELLO Kitt supposedly has No Feelings according to him! :()

good video!!
1300th like
KARR and The Car (a horror movie)... that cannot be coincidence. They are both evil.
I saw that episode today from tv.
KARR isn't smart enough to roll up the windows fast and crush Michael's fingers
Two years before Peter Cullen becomes Prime.
