If you need help cutting materials go to burville the village near the domed city and buy a saw hook or two but don't forget to pick up a number pad to enter your desired weight for the jobs. Also if you don't want to keep taking the scrolls use your phone to take a photo of it and hand it back to the npc and when you're done with the quest just delete the photo it's what I'm doing in my game at the moment. There is another saw hook in the scattered outpost south east lumberton oupost the starting location, they are in conveyor selling shops with the hooks.

If i may suggest, I'd say its time to fully automate your system. If you get enough conveyer belts you can auto fill that ice melter and harvest Ice Rocks for gold and such. I use a splitter with a bar of ice for the ice melter to keep it full and fed. And once i get enough cloutium and corestone I'll make the heavy drills and harvester from the Volcano Forge.

Best thing I've made for myself was the logic saw thingamabob. It's a set of conveyors with a logic saw and a logic number thingy. Punch the number, put the resource on one side, the conveyors take the item, the logic saw cuts a chunk of weight exactly the number you put and the other two conveyors give back the proper sized resource and the rest of the item. It makes short work of those dang quests and it's not that hard or expensive to make.
