I live in a large city where most women are educated, have jobs, date who they want to date and for the most part are free to choose which ever mate (regardless of sexual orientation) they want to marry. There is still a lot of racial discrimination, and that affects both the men and women. Where we see the poor, of any race, there usually can be support found for housing and food. While we do have a homeless population I can't say I hear of any babies or children left abandoned on the streets. Animals yes, children no.
