Thank u so much this actually really helped i love you and your now my favourite youtuber
Thank you! 💕💖
A plastic-free way to do this is to put the clay into a bowl and cover it with a wet towel or a wet cloth. The clay will naturally absorb the moisture. I never thought about poking holes in it though, so thanks for the handy tip 😉👍
Thank God for people who get straight to the point!
I was going to put my clay "brick" outside to use as a door stop! This is brilliant. Thank you so much.
Hahaha I also thought something like this only . No change of plans
Your positivity in this video somehow got me in a much better mood. Gonna try this out instantly to save my old clay! :D
😍😘😍
Thank you!! This video helped when I couldn’t find a craft store open during quarantine!! 💗
Wish I'd thought of doing this years ago. Makes perfect sense now I know! I've lost count of the amount of rock-hard clay I've had to bin over time, despite having stored it in several sealed bags, with all the air squeezed out of it :-( Thanks again :-)
+Nicola Davies my pleasure! Here is to no more throwing away!!
😊
If you are using the Crayon brand clay I recommend putting alittle bit of water in the bucket and put the pice of harden clay in. It usually gets soft after 1-8 hours.
Sounds good
Thank you so much for that tip because I actually use that clay and it’s like rock hard.
I like that this video was quick and straight to the point. 😊❤
That is awesome for me because my clay dries out all the time
Thanks
So annoying when that happens, isn't it? But annoying no more! :-)
Thank you soooooooooooooo much.!!!!
I was wondering to throw it out but u helped me out thank youuuuuuuu again!!!!
Thanks! You deserve a trip to Greenland!
Aww one day!
Yup just notice my clay is solid harder and to break it I might have to smash it
Oh no
Mine too 😕
Mine too 😔😔
My clay is like 5months old
And i think itss very hard now 😕
Thank you! I'm tired of listening to OH YOU NEED TO DO This when your poor and can't buy it.
My creativity is saved! Thank you again!
thanks I'm gonna try it..I already threw away a lot coz it dried though..wish I knew this sooner😢
Oh don't worry about things that "happened in the past", now you know and in the future you will be able to save it !!!
Yeah :)
I love this cuz it's simple and straight to the point
Thank youuuu! This is the only way it works for me!❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the fast reply have a good weekend
My pleasure and you too!

Thank you so much! I hate hard clay lol it’s so hard to shape, this really helped
I was really broke but wanted to finish a fae house. I strayed and went to t3mu. The reason it was so cheap is because it was 2 months from expiration. ,2 blocks. Gonna try this. Much thanks.
Thank you🤝
thanks I LOVE YOUR ACCENT 😎
Thanks a bunch! ❤️Have a “brick” and need to make a gift for three days from now. Fingers crossed I do it correctly.
As funny as it is, I came here because my Volcanic Clay Pore Mask dried up a bit and it needs more water. Thanks for the encouragement. My project, the ever maintaining one: My face (and body). Take care, love. Great and easy advice! ❤
Thanq this was so helpful😊
So pleased
Hi. I love the fact you can soften the clay. I too bought a 5 kg block. Never opened it for 5 years. Until the other day. It's more than hard.i can't even squish it. Will this method work for me? TFS.
If it is natural clay, it should work, yes!! (Sorry for the late reply!)
Thank you!! Tried working with some air dry clay and it was nearly impossible to mold into anything. This really will help me :)
Great!
Thanks you so much ❤️
Oh my this video is helpful its been 4 years my favourite clay has been being harden well it become super soft at 4 days
Hi, than you for the video, HOWEVER in our case we just found out that we are working with an OIL based Clay which is Non-Sulfur and need to use another way to get it softer such as a slow cooker pot to heat it up in a smaller pot within a pot on low heat setting. I just wanted to let other people learn about this because I didn't know until tonight. Have a nice day
I have this block of clay that J should've used when a mouse took a bite on the packaging. I'm gonna try this thank you!!
first-ever RUclipsr to reply to almost every comment
Thank you so much for this. My clay dried out even when I'm the original bag and sealed up. But, it was old. I was disappointed in trying to use it. Gonna try this it appears to work
Wish me luck.😮

Did it work?
Thanks very much, great help!
My pleasure
Thank you!!!
DOes it also work with Hard hard clay??
Whoo! Can I apply the same technique to sculpture raku? I inherited some old stuff that is somewhat wet, but dries out very quickly once I start working with it.
yes, I think so! Make sure it isn't TOO wet though once you start working with it.
Mary Vogel
Brilliant. Thank you so much xx
Hey, loved this tip! Just saved me a bunch of clay. Would I be able to just leave my clay in water for a long period of time? So it doesn’t get hard again
Don't use too much water or it will become way too soft and liquidy, but it should work
Thank you, I love you 🦋🦋🦋
Thanks for this I managed to save my clay :)
So pleased to hear it!
it really helped me...Thank you

It depends on whether you have natural clay
@@redtedart i have daiso
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm sure this vid will be very helpful! I've bought my first kilo of air dry clay today in fear the clay would dry on me if I bought a 2.5 kg package. If I like doing thing with clay, I'll know I can risk a bigger pack thanks to you!
+Meanne77 so pleased!! Will have more clay projects soon!
Red Ted Art if the clay is bought online and shipped to my house will the clay be dry already??
Thanku I was soon worried what I should do I got the idea to do it
Omg thank you❤
Love this, one question will it crack after dry??
Ill have to do some back tracking to find out for sure what type of clay my kids are using but I do have a question that may help me in the end. If you were to put the same clay your using in a dish of water that would submerge the clay to about half way or so what would happen? That's what we tried when their clay was left out and dried before they had a chance to make good use of it, and we didn't have very good results. I will try this method and see what becomes of it. I just had to wonder if the bag around the clay and the twisting and tightening of the bag was actually forcing the water into the clay and it wasn't a case of the clay merely just absorbing the water from a standstill. I was cracking up at some of the comments from the other viewers and almost thought of adding my own such as "What if I have hard water? Will it still make the clay soft or should I start with softening the water? You appear to have soft hands where mine are more rugged, will this affect the clay or should I have someone else do it? I decided to include them anyway so that hopefully you or anyone else can have a laugh at them, and you can't laugh without a smile right?
Yeah, it does depend on the type of clay. This technique should work with all natural clay
Thank you for the video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
+Crazy Fizz always my pleasure!
It nice I also dried it's perfectly thanks
thanks a lot!!!!! you are saving my wallet!!!! :D
I like it ❤
Thanks i throwed away a lot of clay just becoz of this u are too good
Hope this will help!
So AWESOME!
such a neat trick, isn't it?!
If you get the air drying clay with nylon fibres in it, and you go ahead and fire it, do you get fumes from the burning fibres (dumb question but I am a complete novice, last time I made a pot was 1978 at school)
Does this work on dried hard pieces of clay??
In theory yes... but you have to soak it for longer. Don't add too much water though
Red Ted Art what if left in too much water? longer time drying ?
leave it out a bit to dry before using, else it will be quite messy (I have done that before!!)
Red Ted Art I have model magic clay sticks and I want to put it in my slime how would I do that
ALYSSA MARTINEZ 1205 put the model magic into the slime easy!!! Or is the model magic hard???
i did this and it worked. it just got too watery but i think i can fix that
So pleased you like it!
Thank you for your help. You did a great job showing what to do.if my clay got too dry to mold.
helped me very much i was having a bunch of hard clay

+Hirnakshi Bhola perfect!
Thanks all my clay is rock
Thank you so much this helped me loads..... Also there are small bits of very dry and hard chunks in my clay.... How do I get rid of them?
So uselful
Thanku
Great video.
So pleased
Can we soften complety dry clay
Thank you for this. I have a children's set (for me actually!!) with small packs encompassing 24 colours. Some have hardened - it is sponge type air-drying clay so will see if this works. It seems a shame to simply dispose of it xxx
I read you can use a little lotion and it might soften. Haven’t tried so don’t quote me lol.
Nice😇😇
Good
Is there a way to turn normal clay from the ground into clay that never dries? I like mixing it around in my hands and I can feel the adhd hyper fixation forming.
Love this
it is a neat little trick for sure!
Thank you so much I need to try this because my clay has dried out 😭
I bought some terracotta air dry clay and it was hard already and its like a rock i cant squish it whatsoever and i opened it like an hour after i bought it cannit be softened anyway or not ?
I can see your all videos of your channel
hello, thank you for the tips!
but i wanna ask since im a beginner. My clay always breaks when I roll it or make something small. Is that a sign that my clay is dry?
I've tried adding a little water but it stays like that😔😔
thanks
Hooray
If my fevicrly clay(dry air clay) is completely dried up will this help me out?
A very strong and the best way for us is not clear from the
Well, It Works
What type of clay did you use?
it is air drying clay
Are all air clay same ?
I hope so
Thank you so much for this video
No.. there is natural air dry.. and man made stuff. It’s only the natural clay you can save like this!
@@redtedart oh no .. 😣 i have made one and I dont want to open it .. till I have many many projects
Thank you so much for answering to me
hope it works
Hello can I ask.. I made a pinch pot last month but it didn't turn out great, So I was planning to fix it by covering it with air dry clay again, will it work? (Please i need an answer it's for a school project 🥺)
Does it work for fevicryl mouldit clay
I bought some clearance clay yesterday and it was hard as a rock. It is softer today, and it has been 24 hours, but still fairly hard. I'm assuming it won't do too much harm if it has to sit in water longer/I used too much? Just need to let it dry more to use it? Thank you for this video though, im glad I should be able to use it eventually. It's my very very first venture into clay so I have no idea what I'm doing
+PoemsOFsHadows can you make holes in it to let water get inside? It WILL get very squishy and you will have to let it dry our a bit again after. But it should work!
