The train can be speeded up but unfortunately WR never took initiative to speed up this legend. Strange that it faces so many overtakes from new trains throughout its journey. This can easily go through Poorva way, even after LHB coaches and speeding up of so many trains, sadly, Paschim was not touched at all.
I have some great memories of travelling in Paschim Express from Mumbai to Ambala Cantt during my summer vacations every year.Though it doesn't happen every year now but I make sure that I'll travel only in Paschim Express whenever I plan to visit Ambala.

Western Line in Maharashtra is just around 130km, it ends just after Bordi Station which comes after Dahanu Road which is the last major station in Maharashtra on western line. the speed is currently capped at 60kmph from MMCT to Borivali, upto 90kmph till Virar and around 110kmph till Dahanu road due to current track conditions. nowadays, Track 3 and 4 are being built from Virar to Dahanu road with specifications for support till 160kmph, and when those are done, all traffic will be shifted to 3 and 4 and then upgradation of tracks 1 and 2 will start.
Please don't spread incorrect information. Permissible speed between Mumbai Central & Borivali is 100 kmph, between Borivali Virar it is 110 kmph, after Virar it's 130 kmph. Now the tracks after Virar are being upgraded from 130 kmph to 160 kmph, the 3rd and 4th lines between Virar & Dahanu won't be fit for 160 kmph, 110 or 120 kmph at the most.
@@railfanVishal why would railways build new lines for only 110kmph??? Many blogs have been made, some with aerial drone footage showing the new rail lines being built. Current lines 1 and 2 are old lines which have too much traffic to give time slots needed for upgrade to high speed alignment. So line 3 and 4 are being built for high speed, the traffic diverted on them while line 1 & 2 get upgraded. Then line 1 2 will be mostly for emu memu while 3 and 4 will be for outstation. Note DFC lines and bullet train lines are different from these 4 lines

that line split at Vasai link is the line which connected Vasai to Diva so that northern trains can go to either Pune and beyond via Karjat, to Nashik and beyond via Kasara (though i am sure there are other routes for that too) and to Konkan railway via Diva - Panvel -Roha. but main usage still is for freight which connects to Mumbai's JNPT (though its use for freight will go down once western DFC gets completed).
Bro you could have followed a sequence or a cycle becoz you started in Kolkata you travelled until Delhi and now you are traveling again to Delhi. If you would have followed a sequence it would have been great because people who wants to travel in a cyclic path then they would have covered all poles. 1. Ghat section is difficult to maintain, no expansion expected therefore. 2. Road connectivity between Goa & Bangalore is pretty good and hundreds of daily buses ply on the road. So the demand is also less. 3. Self driving enthusiasts also keep the demand in check.

The Vasco express , the only train from Bangalore to Madgaon reaches goa at a weird time of 4.00 am ..... finding transport is a nightmare in goa . And then you have to hire a cab there , for which you have to sell a kidney to pay for 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Moral of the story . Worst connectivity. Must be some political gimmick. If the train connection improves , less people will fly and less money for the concerned people.
