I will never NOT wish that they had done this game/series in fully 2D sprites. But I was so excited when NSMB Wii came out. It was the first side-scrolling Mario game (not counting Yoshi's Island, as that was a Yoshi game) to come out for a home console in nearly 20 years. It was also the first game to include the OG Koopa Kids in that time. And of course it had so many great Mario 3 type elements in general, from the power up inventory to the doomship stages etc. Great, great stuff.
The series is fine with 3D elements because they can play with platforms and animations much more, and i think the artsyle is pretty well done (Wii is the ugliest for the platform imo) ignoring that they look similar. But the 2 Wii games are among the best 2d Marios they really fleshed them out
I have nostalgia for this game more than the others they took the DS game and added Koopalings,Multiplayer, Airships, Challenging longer levels and even airships! Its pretty cool i can't believe there are so many gamers that trash this one or the sequels for the original DS game.

It's one of those levels that keep moving until you reach the end, and you can't go back to get anything you missed. Also, if you're in front of a wall, it's like getting crushed.
I did and I also noticed that on the first airship level, the World 4 tropical lands and sea can be seen far below the airship and on the second airship level the sky is just all full of white clouds.
