- The official music video for the track "Raise Your Voice". Composed by eight time Oscar winner Alan Menken , the video features the cast of the West End spectacular Sister Act the Musical! Since its release in April, the music video has been broadcasted internationally on American Television programs like The View, as well as being featured on popular British shows including Justin Lee Collins Show, Loose Women, Paul O'Grady and The Alan Titchmarsh.

Well, to be completely honest, you will change your mind when you see it live. I have seen it 4 times, and they have been absolutely brilliant! I can tell they become more excited and give 200% especially when the audience started to dance along!
when i watch this movie, i always recall my memory in this summer .
i travelled in london alone and one night , i just bought a ticket and watched this musical.
of course , this is oce of the best musical ive ever seen, it's a kind of amazing experience!!
Hi. I'm a Christian and I've studied Latin. Sr Mary Lazarus' words are "laudamus te, benedicimus te, adoramus te, glorificamus te,". (The 'c' in benedicimus is sung as a 'ch' sound) It's Latin for, "we praise You, we bless You, we adore You, we glorify You". The other words they sing, "Gloria in excelsis Deo" mean, "Glory to God in the highest" which is actually what the angels sing when they appear to the shepherds in the Christmas story. The young sister sings, "tu solus Dominus, tu solus Altissimus, Iesu Christe... in gloria Dei Patris" which means, "You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, in the glory of God the Father". Yes, because the nuns are implied to be practising the "Gloria in Excelsis" that is sung or said at every Mass held on Sundays and Feast Days in the Catholic Church.
Of course, we say sing/recite it in the vernacular nowadays, with the Latin version finding regular used in the Vatican, Traditionalist circles, and special occasions in other places.

This was the first Musical I saw at the West End and I would like to recodmend it to anyone wanting to see a show down there, it is absolutely amazing this video doesn't do it justice
I saw the show on Saturday. It was OUTSTANDING! So much fun. We were literally crying with laughter at the end of Act 1. I hope it runs for years and years - I'm definatly going to watch it again!
I had to perform this song once lol. I was Mary Roberts and it was hilarious. I had to google the latin so I knew what I was actually singing!! Haa x

Patina sounds much stronger here than she did at the Tony Awards (and most of the promotional material I've seen for the American production). I hope she didn't hurt her voice.

@Iceydex the woman sing at the start of this song. sung it in the west end. but her understudy when it was the west end, is going to be the main character, not the uderstudy for it.

Saw the world premier last night.. Patina and the rest of the cast were outstanding.. although they really need to make more of the finale..
There just wasn't enough time for applause for individual cast members... this is the kind of show that could really milk the finale.. have everyone on thier feet cheering etc... they didn't make much of this.. I'm going on press night, so I'll let you know if anything has changed. :)
