Electric shock lol. I was getting ready to say "wow this would look really cool in a 3d printed enclosure" and then I got to the end. 😉Solid job, great soldering!

electric shock lol, the kit looks pretty cool but I think I might try and make one of these for myself from scratch, it looks super cool and like a fun little project.

I agree. I was a bit disappointed in it in the end, I would have preferred something a little more hackable and with a bit more to build. The final results are great though, just need a more eventful journey 😀

🔌⚡️😆! So cool! Love these things! Questions: does it keep the time? Do the tubes get very hot? Great video S.M.!

I filmed that video about a month ago, and have it in my wah office. It’s been on ever since. There are no seconds but it’s about 30 seconds behind internet time now, but I could have set it wrong. So I think it keeps excellent time. As to heat, the 3d printed enclosure hasn’t melted, and the top of the tubes is neither warm or cold to touch, so I assume they are running about body temperature.

Electric shock lol 😂. I think there is something not 100% ok with the high voltage supply for the tubes. You can see the digits flashing at the ends. Once the neons ignite the nixie ends go dimmer. Check if you have at least 170V supply. I neons are a bit too much for this 5v power supply circuit. Maybe there is a pot to adjust it on the board? Nice work by the way ;-)

Well noticed, it seemed to struggle lighting the edges of some.of the numbers, like the bar on the top of the 5, (and bottom of the 2) when I filmed that I was powering through a cheap usb plug with an unpowered usb hub which the clock cable.was plugged in to. I think that's had a current limiter on it. Now I have it plugged into a proper Anker mains powered usb power distributor and that flashing doesn't happen. So it was an issue with my power, not the nixie clock board in the end. Thanks for your comments

I'm so happy with the final result, and the case I found that someone designed makes it perfect
