Hopefully someone reads this before May/June exams start. So I did Cambridge International Exams (CIE) for my exam board and took A Level Bio, Chem, Physics, Math and English (the infamous Asian-5) over 2 years (so I did my A Level Math in 6th Form/Year 12 and everything else in 7th Form/Year 13 (I have mates who took 7 A Levels over 2 years) Marks wise, I ended up getting 4 A*s (got an A in A Level Math gRrrrrrrrrrrr) and made it into med school (only 1 teacher predicted my grades correctly; I was predicted to get 4As) Aight, enough waffling, this isn't an A2 English essay. The biggest tip that I have is to HAVE FUN and SLEEP. Guys, this is your final year and so enjoy the absolute crap outta it, I know I did seeing as I did 17 extra-curricular activities along with the UMAT and getting my diploma in music from ABRSM. Power-naps are god's gift to mankind so take em, they refresh you and give you enough energy to power through. Also, past papers (duhhhhhh). Learn the mark scheme; give yourself the biggest advantage you can get...for free. Notes (esp for bio and english) are invaluable too, as they are very wordy subjects (for English, a great way to score very highly is to memorise as many critics quotes as possible) Finally, I'd just like to say that no, school doesn't really matter; hard-work and a strong work ethic does tho
Can’t wait for the videos you have coming up!! I’m currently taking maths, chemistry, biology and Further maths and would also like to study Medicine at uni 😀
Huge congratulations!! Yes, tips will be coming out soon :) Very well done on that offer. Now, just make sure to work super hard over the next few months to secure that offer. See you around in October!
Guess I’m in the right place considering I just joined year 12 and chose Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Maths. I’m not an A* student, although my teachers all thought so at GCSE, but I am willing to put the effort in these next 2 years. I’m unclear on whether I want to go down the path of zoology or astronomy. 2 career paths I’m absolutely passionate about. Neither subject is more important than the other in this situation. Should I perservere and take the risk or just drop one of them?
Thank you so much for your support!! I always tell myself that if these videos inspire/motivate at least one student out there, then I have achieved my goal, so it's truly rewarding to hear such wonderful words from you :)
@@ketchurself7979 I think the secret to excelling in A levels is the method of studying. Some people study their GCSEs by rote and meaningless memorisation and application and it has become a bad habit for them during A levels. This does not work for rigorous exam board such as CIE as it requires deep understanding and self analysis of various theories taught.

Hi! Did you go to a private school or a local state school. Do you think that this impacted you studying for your a levels and applying to Cambridge? Thank you 😊
I really don't think this matters that much, as if you have the motivation to learn, succeed and get the top grades, you can do it at whichever school you go to. But I went to at state Grammar school called Tiffin School. Hmm although my school weren't too involved in my Oxbridge application, they still were absolutely amazing when it came to subject teaching, pastoral support and advice on medical school applications. Past students from my school definitely inspired me to apply to Cambridge, and from such inspiration, I developed motivation to do as well as possible at school. Regardless of school, if you are inspired to achieve a goal, and you develop motivation to attain whatever you wish, nothing can stop you!
