They first met each other when Lisa was 14 at his mom's dance studio and got married when she was 19. They have been dancing together for a very long time and it shows.
Always a pleasure to see Christopher Walken in that "Weapon of Choice" video. I still remember when I first saw it - the part where he rings for the elevator - and I was like "What on earth did I just watch?" (in a good way).
Is it me? Or did you guys forget about John Travolta who is another among a handful of successful celebrities that can not only dance, but sing as well?
Even more surprising, in the Christopher Walken clip, he's dancing with Travolta! So why didn't John make it here? Because SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER was 40 years ago?
Charles Durning (ballroom), Robert Duvall (tango), and Steve Martin (tap) were/are also gifted dancers. And Frank Sinatra did an excellent job tap dancing with Gene Kelly.
Those 3 men being dancers surprised me. Thank you! I have seen videos of Steve Martin playing banjo. The tap dancing surprised me. Charles Durning was an actor with an amazing repertoire of skills. Comedy, drama, etc. He was in NCIS, as a WWII veteran. It was so powerful of an episode I just had to buy it off Amazon. Robert Duvall was in alot of movies. The one that I watch when needing a lift is “Secondhand Lions”. He had serious moves in the fight scene against 4(?) 20-something boys. It should have not been surprising to be told he was a dancer.
You might want to look at videos of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. He was a perfectionist and they would do 42 takes before he was satisfied. There was also no cutting. Every dance was done in one take. Amazing! And you also might look at some of the black dancers in the movie cotton club. The Nicholas Brother and others will astound you! Tap with Greg Hines will knock your socks off when you see these older dancers. Enjoy!
Actors and actresses in the ‘old days’ used to be required to be able to sing, dance, act, and usually play some kind of musical instrument. They were marketed on more than one skill.
I like this list, and am particularly pleased that it includes Christopher Walken, a professional-caliber tap dancer. One unforgivable omission is Neve Campbell, who was offered a position with the Joffrey Ballet after filming The Company. That offer acknowledges her commitment to hundreds of hours of extremely hard work, and must be applauded. A personal Honorable Mention: Christina Applegate, whose unchoreographed frivolity runs with the credits of both View From the Top and The Sweetest Thing. The girl has great rhythm, and an extremely mobile torso.
I went to the same ballet school as Neve Campbell as a kid, but she's a few years older and was at a much higher level. My mom still has the recital program with her name in it.
I remember reading somewhere that if Christopher Walken had been born a few years earlier, he would have been right up ther with Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and all the other singing/dancing movie stars from that era.
Glad he wasn't because he isn't "surprisingly". Like Swayze and Channing. They're known. But some well knowns were on the list, like Alfonso and Gosling to name a couple

You missed Brendan Fraser. He did a fabulous jive number with two female partners in Blast From the Past and a great tango in Mrs. Winterbourne. Any, yes, how did you miss Travolta and Tatum? Are those clips not available?
Oh, yeah. Tom Hiddleston a WELL deserved #1. Unless anyone has seen him dance you would never guess he was so good. #2 in MY book SHOULD have been Sam Rockwell. That boy is nothing short of AMAZING!!!
Salma Hayek was definitely a 'wow' surprise for me, but my real surprise was not seeing Catherine Zeta-Jones who should also be on that top list. Her perfomance in Chicago and her moves on Entrapment top it all as unbeatable. Bruce Willis on Friends when he dances in front of a mirror (watched only by the character Ross who hides under the bed) is a memorable scene too! :)

They didn't even mention one of the best male dancers, Tatum Channing!
Tatum, can bust a move just like MC Hammer!
former male stripper and breakdancer. had to do intensive study to pull off his tap/dance routine in hail caesar, which he did superbly.
Umm they said people you would not expect to be good dancers. Everyone knows Channing Tatum is an amazing dancer. He was the lead in Step-up and Magic Mike it's quite well known.
Yeah, I guess we tent to forget they said “surprinsingly” good so yeah, we all already know Channing is amazing.
I think because these actors are not known to be dancers to begin with.
Alfonso has been dancing since he was a child. Seen him on Silver Spoons.
It is my impression that many actors started off on Broadway so singing and dancing makes sense.
I am sorry, but not having Hugh Jackman on the list is a shame
Majka76 the word “surprisingly “ is in title ....
think they said surprising, like people we didn't know they were good dancer's. I was thinking the samething, till I realized the title.
Agree
He was on Broadway in 'Oklahoma' before he became a household name, it was well known that he could dance.
@@RavyniaGaming t.
Me seeing Tom Holland on this list & knowing he can dance. Wasn't surprising to me.
Sam Rockwell dancing in Charlie's Angels is still one of my fave scenes.
The Terry Crews entry wasn't surprising, but I'm glad you added him.
3 AA of 20 people ain't bad I guess 😒
@Krystal H Everyone is dumb about something
I LOVE Terry Crews!
There could have and should have been so many more, but this is about good dancers that surprised people. And they always find a way to make us a token somehow...
I love a man that can dance! I’m all googly eyed 👀
I’m surprised they didn’t mention that Kate Hudson‘s mom Goldie Hawn used to be a dancer in Goldies Hawn‘s mom on the dance studio
Alfonso Ribeiro was a break dancer as a child and was in the Jacksons Pepsi commercial. Therefore his ability to dance isn't a surprise to those of us who grew up with him.🙄
and from the silver spoons tv show
I remember that commercial 🤣
Joseph Gordon Levitt brought me here...loved em all
Me TOO. The only reason I watched ! 🦅
Needs more cowbell....and Cristopher Walken.
LOL Gotta have more cowbell
2 OF THE BARE NECESSITIES OF LIFE!!! ( ANOTHER 3 BEING BALOO, MOWGLI AND KING LOUIE!!!)
Fuckin right
You are right. Patrick was an excellent dancer and had the looks too. He was amazing.
Brendan Fraser? Loved his dance from Blast from the Past 😎👍
Yeah and he had some moves in "Caveman".
"Glau received a scholarship to a ballet company and was homeschooled from grades 3 to 12 to accommodate her ballet training. In addition to her classical ballet training, she studied tango and flamenco." She is a ballerina!
Her fight scenes in Serenity essentially are a ballet.
Sorry... but ya'll missed Antonio Banderas... Love watching him dance.
Yes indeed Antonio can dance🕺🏼
Take that lead.
I know you do! I saw you peeping at him in a public bathroom stool smacking your lips!
terry tari 😂😂😂😭
Is it surprising that he's a good dancer, as per the name of this video? Or are his skills well known? (Hint, its the second one)
I guess I was wrong....my 1st thought was John Travolta...Urban Cowboy and Saturday Night Fever
At least he´s in this video a little bit 13:20-13:35
Not “surprising.”
Has anyone seen Christopher Walken in “Pennies from Heaven”?
Can’t believe you left out the fact that Alfonso has been dancing since he was a kid appearing with MJ in a Pepsi commercial.
Seriously tho!!! Came to the comments just for that reason! Lol
And he stared in the play the Tap Dance Kid on Broadway when he was a kid!!!!
He was on Broadway for years as "The Tap Dance Kid" he was also in a show as a pre teen I think with Jusin Bateman where he did some dancing too.
Joaquin Phoenix...quadruple threat: acting, dancing, singing, playing guitar.
Alfonso Ribiero starred as a child actor/dancer in the Tap Dance kid and was featured in the Pepsi ads of the 80’s dancing opposite Michael Jackson. So. He actually should’ve been #1
John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Swayze......
Damn, Marvel has some seriously multitalented actors!!
Right Marvel should do a musical movie
I want to see a dance off between Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch. Both are amazing dancers.
But she left out RDJ... 🤨
@@motherofchaos5519 Jeremy Renner can dance too, as well as Scarlett, Mark and a few others. And they're not on the list either.
And they left out Jeremy Renner who’s a great dancer.
Tom Hiddlestone is just an all rounder. Love him.
I feel the need…I feel the need for more cowbells. Christopher Walken’s dance number put me in mind of Gene Kelly. Why yes, I am that old😉
This was definitely fun to watch! Thank you!!!
Alfonso was the lead on Broadway in “The Tap Dance Kid.” He was a great child dancer and performer he began acting on television.
They must have forgotten his original "introduction" to America with Michael Jackson in a Pepsi commercial
Are you serious with Vin Diesel!?!🤨
The Wayans Brothers, Patrick Swayze, John Travolta, Chris Tucker
While Ryan G. was fine in the La La Land dance, Emma Stone was right there kicking it too ! My crush on Sam Rockwell just got bigger ! Fun post, thank you !!
I knew I loved Ryan Gosling when the first movie I saw him in he was a murderer and I never had a negative thought even about the character 😂😂🥰
JOHN TRAVOLTA!!omg how can you forget him??? Saturday Night Fever? Grease? Pulp Fiction? Hellloooo?
Walken dancing is the best on this list. He is simply breath taking 😍
John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum, etc....
Of course Mr. Hiddleston can dance and sing.. he's trained in theatre
John Travolta is a great dancer. Not sure why he wasn't on your list.
John *was* a great dancer. Stayin' Alive was amazing, but he's let his body go. I doubt he bust any moves now.
I think cuz he was known as a great dancer... It's not "surprising"
