Shameless Maya Hi! really learning some stuff through your tech talk videos! I recently bought a professional background kit to start my yt channel. Not minding the fact that I almost burnt the white background in order to cancel the harsh lines due to the packaging, should I set my camera on me in order to make the background blur? and also, are your house lights and video lights on while your filming or are you only using video light? :)
Ladies......."3 point lighting" will give you more flexibility than a ring light or beauty dish. You can DIY with cheap lamps or clip lights with filters using paper, $1 shower caps, $1 shower curtains. A $30 setup can still turn out pro-like results. Maya has a great tutorial on proper camera settings......which is a must. P.S. just remember to use led bulbs because they will not get hot and won't pose a fire risk if using filters to get that soft lighting look.
If you put some alluminium folil in the back of the plastic tube, the light won't go to the back, instead it will focus all of its power to the front giving much stronger effect ;)

i made the mistake of buying a ring light without taking into consideration that i wear glasses so the glare ruined my life! so can you do a lighting video for ppl that wear glasses maybe some tips idk i really don't want to go through the hassle of returning something i bought online lol -thanks!

I also use two lamps and removed the top thingy and use that to add some warmth to the harsh white light from the ring light, but now seeing this im gonna mess with my settings!

That cooling tip was super helpful! I've been so discouraged from filming lately cause I was shipped the wrong bulbs and hate that yellow look. Living in Japan is such a struggle cause shipping takes FOREVER, lol. Will def try it white balancing in my upcoming vids. Thanks !

Such an insightful video. I'm so new to RUclips and needed the tips in this video. I use daylight when I film but it changes a lot and disrupts the overall colour of my video. Got a wide light and spotlight from Amazon that were slightly on the pricey side. I will definitely pick up a thing or two and apply when next I have to shop for video gear. I have been using the LimoStudio Photography Video Studio Continuous Softbox Lighting Light Kit with Photo CFL 105W Bulb from amazon and Its only $40. It lights up my whole room and it comes with the same big bulb that Maya showed. I have also use the Newar macro led ring light that attaches to the front of the camera which is also pretty good. ❤️

White balance and color correction is the trick to EVERYTHING! I have salvaged photos and videos by mastering this concept :)

I got that same HUGE bulb from amazon. Upgraded from a 45 watt to the 110 watt. It does put off a lot more light!

I mostly use natural light but i do sometime use my umbrella light kit that I purchased based off of your recommendations in a old tech talk video!
