I' ve got £100k to invest. I want to build a nest egg for when I'm older. I want to know if it's a good idea to add all my savings into a long term ETF, set and forget Come back in 20-30 years, instead of 250-300 DCA every month. Which ETF would you recommend.?

As they say, time IN the market is better than trying to time the market. I think you should seek advice from a licensed financial advisor. They’ll give you guide on high risk and low risk investment strategies for your portfolio

Accurate asset allocation is crucial with an Experts guidance. I have 850k in equity, 275 cash earning 5.25 interest, 685k in 401k, 120k cash account, 80k in car assets ( paid off cars) Gold and silver bars. age is 48. My advisor helped me realign my portfolio to my risk tolerance and it boomed shortly.

The FED just pivoted . 3 months after the FED is DONE lowering rates slowly take your money out of VMFXX 5% and dollar cost avg into VOO SCHD QQQM. As inflation goes up so will they. When the FED again says inflation is to high lock in profits SELL and put it all back in VMFXX 5%. You are in VMFXX earing 5%while the fed is raising and lowering rates. You make money in investments as inflation rises.

No. I came to America as a dirt poor student. Americans don't known the meaning of real hardship. Most Americans living paycheck to paycheck because they have no idea how to live within their means, aka, suck at personal finance and self discipline.

Over 80% of millionaires are self made, and earn under $50,000 annually. They just live below their means, don’t use credit cards, don’t buy new cars, and use all the money left over to invest. It’s actually simple.

I'm fortunate to be in the position to have a good paying job so I did buy more mutual funds at the last dip. However, this advice is predicated on a BIG assumption that one has capital to invest and that you're not a working class, ordinary citizen who's been hit with layoffs, which is the typical scenario in a recession.

My question is…now that I have this extra $900 a month and about $7k in credit card debt…what is the best way to pay down that debt and create a savings. I was gonna split it 50/50 between debt and savings using either the snowball or avalanche method. Or maybe a mixture of both. I have this budgeting course I took from some group crown financial (they are a religious organization which was irrelevant to me but the workbooks that are feee online have been life changing in terms of paying off debt and living within my means. It can be used like the envelops system as well since it tells you what percentage of your income you should be spending in each category so you can split that money up and transfer any excess to the following year or into another area. I love money. I absolutely love love love to watch my money grow. Now that I have it I’m like a squirrel hoarding nuts for the winter. I can’t wait to have $1,000 in savings. Then 2K. Then no more credit card debt. Like I am so excited it’s like I’m a kid and summer is just around the corner. 😂

      1. Reduce your expenses to the bare minimum.
      2. Get another job/side hustle/work longer.
      3. Invest whatever remains.

Unfortunately in a recession it’s only the already wealthy that have the funds to aggressively invest. Many small folk lose their jobs, are financially struggling and might have to stick to a very strict budget based on needs. Stocks are unfortunately not edible so it’s not doable for many to do this. But I understand that if you’re been mostly around Wall Street Big Wigs, reality there isn’t real.

Vivian, is target date funds the best way to go? The expense ratio is higher ... i bought some but then realized it's much less expense ratio to build my own profile (i guess you pay for the management of target date funds)

How do you see annuities and IUL as a way of finding your retirement. Annuities for Longevity and IULs for Tax free withdrawals. Ofcourse in addition to the regular 401K withdrawals

  • @ryanaldenphotography5843

Roth vs 401k match ending usable balance- Because it's taxed up front asuming you put the same in both which would be better at the endgame aka retirement- I'd rather pay lower taxes now but which is going to have the higher usable balance assuming higher taxes upon withdrawl w/the 401k? 2nd How do you find great companies to invest in during a recession that you can be sure won't fail? Is it just a sheer number of companies you're investing in? Ie: 2 of 10 will make it potentially worth it?
