      I heard that story long time ago, JC's guitar player couldn't make it so Waylon said I'll play guitar for you.
      But i never saw how it went.
      Underrated, Waylon was picky, and knew how to bend the strings!!
      😊 🍻

      @7wounders he kept telling johnny he knew a guy and he will fly out. I think it was a Toronto show. When he showed up it was waylon and johnny didn't know till he got there

      Now I do remember that great detale, about how Waylon surprised Johnny Cash, showing up to play guitar for Cash. What a great show that must have been!! Wish someone had video, or audio, or setlist. Would be fascinating. Was that story talked-about on that Waylon VHS tape that came out in the 90s? I'm now pretty sure that's where I heard about that. Im a Hoss head ya know.... 😎

    Love Waylon and Johnny Cash together singing Folson Prision Blues. Waylon just wants to let rip on the guitar, Johnny having a great time.

    Waylon defined the outlaw country guitar sound. Telecaster and a phase shifter

    What’s the first song he sung?

    • @jaybarber68
      @jaybarber68 Год назад +2

      In his lifetime? He started playing about 12 years old. I’d guess it was a Hank Sr. song most likely. Poor Waylon had a terrible time dealing with the death of Hank, and later, Buddy😢

    You know those piano players that can play a song, and then adter they play it, they can spice up the rhythm to make it original, but still fit the song? That was waylon. Especially with folsom prison.

      A Fender Super Reverb, a "Phaser" pedal, a Fender Telecaster, & "Chicken Pickin' " on that Fender Telecaster.

      He created that sound, yes the phaser and that is part of it, but even playing acoustic guitar with out the be.ls and whistles he had a unique and awesome style. We sure do miss Waylon.
