This run was done on June 15th, 2017. I just got around to uploading it now.
100% speedruns of this game require the following:
All 100 Star Pieces
All 85 unique Badges
All 124 Tattles
All 57 Recipes
All 42 Shine Sprites
All 7 Party Members (upgraded to Ultra Rank)
All 7 Crystal Stars
All 8 Special Moves
Superstar Rank at level 30
All 4 Paper Curses
Ultra Boots and Ultra Hammer
Completing the Trouble Center and reaching level 99 are not required because these achievements aren't tracked in the pause menu. Collecting all Important Items is not required as it is impossible to possess all of them at the same time.
World record as of June 15th, 2017. This run's nothing spectacular, but the category is extremely luck-heavy and long, so it's the best I've got right now. Also, this was only my 3rd run of 100%, so there's definitely stuff to improve.

He fought the Bald Clefts and Bristles in Chapter 1 because Goombella Buffering skips things that are required for 100%
There's a door in the back of the trouble center?! This changes everything
For the shine sprite in west rogueport behind the cracked wall next to the item shop, its quicker to use bobbery inside of the shop instead of cracking the wall to get the shine sprite
Correct. That technique wasn't found until 2 months after this run though. I uploaded this quite some time after actually doing it

Would having ms mowz out as your partner during the cutscene that happens at 6:37:15 cause a softlock or crash? Since it has partner based text I assume it does break the game in some way
If a partner doesn't have dialogue for certain conversations, they normally just end up saying the equivalent of "No messages.[language]" for whatever language the game's in. This can be seen in the any% English/PAL run where the start of chapter 3 is retriggered with Yoshi as the active party member. So the game doesn't softlock/crash, but some kinda weird stuff happens.
It would actually shorten the conversation here, as all the partner text strings are shortened to one text box. I don't think it'd be worth the extra two partner swaps in this area though.
I thought the picture of Magnus Von Grapple next to The Great Tree in your list of parts of the game was a picture of Mew!

Due to glitches, Rawk Hawk isn’t required for speed runs in the Japanese version
it amazes me how ppl do this. Im playing TTYD right now and Im already 10 hours in and Ive only gotten 5 stars

What's the reasoning behind skipping blooper when you need his tattle anyway? Just curious. I guess because skipping him means you can fight him later and have it be a faster fight?
Blooper (and almost all of the missable tattles for that matter) appear in Frankly's trash can based on game sequence. So if the game progresses past a certain point, a certain set of tattles are made available in the trash. I end up getting it at around 7:36:00

Boyerz Urashima : Japanese has less characters to scroll through which means you can scroll through the text faster.
Also ultra hammer early can help speed things up.

Kinda. He takes care of recipes, badges and stuff like that during pre-chapter segments. The only Trouble Centre quests he does are Zess T (which unlocks the ability to combine two items in a recipe) and of course Ms. Mowz (because that’s how you get her to join you)

No, all the possible lottery rewards can also be gotten by other means. If first prize were a unique badge or something, the 100% speed run would take over a year, due to the way it determines if you won!

Sjorec how do you get to damage enemies so much? From 18-21?
The easiest way is generally abusing the badge "Power Rush". It gives you +2 damage when "in danger" which is 5 HP or lower. The easiest source of those badges is buying them in the pianta parlor (requires gold card). I've not yet watched the video, but I doubt I will remember to reply when I see if he does something different, so that's not exactly gospel.

Japanese version. In the Japanese version they designed TEC to look more like HAL9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey

bloodstained tyro567 Depends alot on the game, from the japanses versions im aware of either text is faster in japanses or the japanses version is an earlier version of the game and more prone to bugs
The Japanese version has glitches that aren’t present in international versions that are useful for speed runs, such as wall clipping

Now for "all recipes" category XDDDD
you need all 57 recipes to finish the 100% run. so technically, this is an "all recipes" run.
You need the cookbook from Chapter 4 for a lot of the recipes since it allows you to combine ingredients to make more complex items. Before getting the cookbook and getting items you can only get post Chapter 4, Zess T can only cook single-ingredient recipes and only with certain items. Items that cannot be cooked, such as the Sleepy Sheep, become Mistakes which are a waste of an item slot (only restores 1 HP and 1 FP)

Atleast in English version you can get all one time enemies' tattles from the professor's trash can

How do you do so much damage?
He equipped several Power Rush badges. Each power rush badge increases Mario's attack by 2 whenever his health is 5 or less. He used Chet Rippo to decrease his maximum health down to 5, while boosting one of the other two stats. This is what is known as a 'Danger Mario' setup, as Mario is permanently in 'danger' status because his health is 5 or less.

I don’t know why someone would want to watch 8 hours of speedrunning WITHOUT commentary. That’d be so boring. And no there wouldn’t be one in English text because the Japanese version of the game is run.
I'm a bit confused as to why Pit of 100 Trials isn't included, because that is tracked down by where star pieces are tracked

Franklies trash can will have Tattles of enemys the game registers as you never haveing the abuility to fight again, so most bosses with the acception of rawkhawk and probably dooplis will appear in there

This is the world record for 100% completion. But you are correct in that the any% run was done in a little over two hours.
New to speed running? Most games have different categories. The speedrun you saw of around 2 hours was probably an any% run. This one was a 100% run which requires you to do a lot more stuff, which in turn will be a lot longer than any%.
It’s like telling a 1600 runner that “sorry that your time isn’t world record, Usain Bolt finished his race faster”
