Going BIG! Color Shifting & Pearl Combination - Huge Acrylic Pour!

  • This week I decided to go big or go home! This 24" x 24" canvas was a little uncomfortable at times to try and tilt around, but in the end really worked out! Aside from some of the paint I needed to clean up off the floor I'm pretty happy with it. LOL!
I used two different acrylics- color shifts by Folk Art and also pearls by Amsterdam to see how they would react to each other. I feel like this color combo turned out really nicely, and the metallics look really pretty with a dark base color!
What is the biggest canvas that you have poured on and how did everything turn out?
Let me know what you think of this pour in the comments below!

Tony, this is beautiful! In spite of the challenges and learning curve, you pulled it off fabulously. I'm still obsessed with pearls and color shifts. I recently experimented with using pearls as a cell activator and wow, they work fantastic but only work well over semi and opaque colors. Just something for you to put in your creative tool box❤

That’s an awesome experiment, I appreciate you sharing. Yes this one was challenging, but quite a bit of fun in the end. 😊

Great job! I remember my first Level 3 canvas 10 by 20, much smaller than yours, but I remember it being so hard to manoeuvre I dropped it several times and it got so slippery that it slipped all the time! I don't use them much anymore, only the smaller ones. I use level 2 now. Congrats on your first show, hope you do well!

Thank you so much! I’m sure it will be a good time over that weekend, and I also have an arts festival in June so hopefully it finds a home at either of those shows! 🙂

Great piece Tony!! I always forget how different Canadian accents are depending on which province. I’m in Ontario and we pronounce our A’s so different hehehe.
Long arms definitely with larger canvases. I struggle with this only being 5’1. Great colours. I’m definitely going to check out the FolkArt colour shift brands! And I’m looking forward to chatting about a future collaboration!! Have a great day my friend!

Thanks Amy, I appreciate it! Lol, yes, we do pronounce a few things differently don’t we? I really love the color shift paints because they shimmer either way you look at it. One side may look blue and the other side may look dark purple. We can definitely chat soon and thanks again! 🤍
