Your technique worked! I tried it on the lock on my shed when I thought I had lost the key. I was able to break the lock which was similar to the one in the video, but it was much harder than it looks. I found the key about 20 min later.
"I found the key about 20 min later."
That is usually how it works.
I had all three keys and the padlock still wouldn't open. This method did however work. It's brute force and proves, at least to me, that padlocks still are tough enough to safeguard my storage, but I'm glad I was able to get through in the end. Thanks LPL!
"I found the key about 20 min later." In the shed?
Bolt cutter.
In the millitary when we could not find the key for our lock that protected our locker we would just use a hammer and minishovel and the lock would break instantly.
I remember many years ago, soldiers from the training military base in my town used to buy locks at my father's shop and they put nuts all around the shackle to reduce leverage space.
Wouldn’t the birds snd squirrels just eat the nuts?

In high-school I had a combination lock that worked for a short time before it failed and stayed locked. I went to the office and complained (it was a school-supplied lock) and I was told I had to nicely ask the janitor to remove the lock or else there's nothing the school can do. Seriously! So I did, and he put the handle of a crescent wrench into the lock loop and hit on it harder and harder until it busted apart. I learned two things that day. 1) These locks are crap. 2) Don't ever mess with a janitor. That dude escalated like a math formula.

When a lock is in use a no room for wrenches scenario is often the case. Using a spanner wrench to twist the lock body into submission might be an option you've covered before. With lock in use twist to open the stronger the anchor point the better.

I used to work in the wastewater industry, repairing lift stations. We would get calls from stations that we didn't manage but had catastrophic failures with sewage backing up and over-following. Almost every time the maintenance tech was not available to unlock the station and they needed us to "break-in". I have used your method in this video with 100% success rate. "Officer... I carry them for DEEZ NUTS!"
Absolutely correct. Simple physics. Also it’s can be achieved with a single wrench as when the padlock is used in a practical manner there is something there already to provide the spacer required to exert the leverage. A chain for example!

Is Master Lock a bad brand to secure important assets ?
When my dad passed away some time ago we couldn't find the key to one of his sheds, I remembered this video and used this method to get in and it was surprisingly easy. Figured that if I couldn't get it open I'd comeback with an angle grinder but this was honestly easier than using one of those.
This is considerably easier when the lock isn’t locking anything. When the shackle has something locked in it, placing wrenches inside of the shackle, too, becomes a challenge that reduces or even eliminates wrench placement and/or leverage…
Can you elaborate on what did u exactly use this method. 🤭✌️
thats actually a damn good point
Actually the chain inside of the lock is instead acting as the 1st wrench, making opening these with a single wrench possible.
To expand and clarify Alexander's point, when something is in the lock, like a link of chain or the loop of a hasp, then the first wrench may not be necessary. Essentially, the first wrench is used to (1) provide the optimum height for the second wrench. It's the second wrench that breaks the lock and it just needs something - anything hard - to wedge it up to the right height, that allows the leverage needed. So if something is already in the lock (chain link, hasp loop, etc.) then you might need a smaller first wrench or small piece of any metal or possibly nothing at all. (2) The 2nd purpose of the first wrench is to provide a handle to give the second wrench grip to push against. Without the first wrench the second wrench handle push-motion is difficult unless there's something to hold the lock in place. If there's no first wrench handle to hold the lock stable while providing something to push against, it might work if the lock is against a wall or door - an alternate way to hold the lock stable. In that case you could possibly push the second wrench down against the lock if the lock is pressed up against the wall or door. But this wouldn't work with a free swinging locked chain since then there's nothing holding the lock to push the second wrench against. In that case maybe vice-grips clamping on the lock body from the bottom of the lock might solve that problem - using the vice-grips to push the second wrench against.
You lose a lot of force if you’re just using one wrench. Unless the object in the lock can be manipulated to same degree as a second wrench. Which is highly unlikely
RUclips: no cursing or adult content! Think of the children!
Also RUclips: no no no that's not how you break a lock! THIS is how you break a lock!!

"its perfectly balanced, as all things should be."
LPL, holding a Brick Seperator: "As you can see, it's quite easy using the proper tool"

Thanks I'd been pounding on a lock on my boat trailer for a while saw this grabbed two wrenches pop that was it thanks man but now I want a good lock for it
Large problem here:
The lock is going to actually be ON SOMTHING. This means you may not be able to fit two wrenches in there, less likely the exact position needed
MotoRacer171 then hell just pick it open. This guy doesnt use wrenches
Tru
Press F
If it's on a chain or something, can probably brace against that instead of the lower wrench
That's true, though the "something" (e.g., a cable) can also be easily defeated.
