Wow! I just did a bunch of these except going offline and my game is playable again. For the past two weeks, the simulation lag was so bad that most of my Sim day was spent waiting to go to the next action. Thank you!
These tips along with the simulation lag fix mod and the simulation lag unclogger mod saved my game. I don’t have the fastest computer and my loading screens were taking over 10 minutes, so my Sims would never leave the house. Now my loading time is almost cut in half thanks to this 💕 How often should we be deleting the Sims 4 cache?
Ahhh, such great news, friend! Glad to hear that! Well, you don't need to do it pretty often, I highly suggest deleting cache after updating your game & after getting rid of broken mods/cc. You can obviously delete it whenever you feel like your game is a lil bit laggier than usual! Hope you have a nice day! 🥰❤️

omg you're a life saver. I was completely lost on why my game was lagging so bad, but after watching this I checked my library and for some reason it had a bunch of the default buildings and characters saved? I deleted them and now my game is running much smoother, thank you!
Good advises. It's always worth it to move as much as your data to your secondary drive(s) as possible. Keep your programs and application separate from your data. A nice side effect is that, if you need to reformat and reinstall your OS, your data are safe on that other drive. Your desktop is NOT a storage area, it should be reserved to your most used shortcuts, not complete files.
Second that. I was unlucky enough to get a very weird virus on my gaming PC. Had to get Windows newly set up on another drive to fix it. I was basically able to redownload the gaming clients and start playing again as if nothing happened because I've always installed my games on other drives.
Tysm! This really works & I didn’t even have to do much! Deleted broken cc & some maxi homes then went completely offline switched to laptop mode! My game is running sooo much faster! This works! ❤️

06:54 If you need permission another way to bypass this is by going into the folders themselves and delete everything that's in there. Then go back to that same folder and now you can delete it. If the folder had nothing in it then simply opening it, going back, and deleting the folder will do the trick.
Things I'd love to see in Dine Out. 1.) Longer hours of operation without the workers getting tired. I'd love to have longer restaurant gameplay. 2.) A gradual closing process. I hate how the restaurant just shuts down and customers don't get to finish their meals and workers don't clean up the mess for closing 3.) The glitch in the workers when you accidentally remove a requirement to build the restaurant. When you do that the workers are all removed and you'd have to re hire sims, re do their training, experience & pay. Super frustrating having to constantly start over! 4.) More tables and chair options 5.) More CHEFS and HOSTS!!!!
I did all of these amazing tips. Please make sure, as well, that your graphics card is okay. Mine was completely disabled (idk how that happened still) so just make sure that you check that, too.

I haven't really done anything, my game were so laggy before but somehow today it's so smooth, I just deleted like 3 household that i didn't use, well I'm glad i don't have to do much work now, i even changed the graphic settings from low to medium, it's still a bit laggy but acceptable tho

Thank you for the documents folder info. if over 5 GBs in the downloads folder is bad, try almost 10GB. I had no idea things took up so much space on there!!!

All I did was the going off-line thing and everything runs perfectly I spent 2 1/2 days taking out my putting mods in getting tricked that it works but then after 20 minutes and start messing up now I have like almost every mod I’ve had running and it’s running smoothly
Whenever I load my game it moves si smoothly in CAS and on the Main Menu. But when I load a household with a lot of sims , my game will start to lag. When I load my game with one sim with no house it’s so smooth and when I put cc in a house it lags badly.
You can also try to delete some items from your Sims' inventories, remove some build & buy objects that make your game run slow (such as fountains, mirrors and any other animated items). Guys another tip I just found out to make your sims game run faster is to clean your pic air vents. So like if your computer is running hot that will slow down the performance

First of all great video and I really appreciate you bringing up the topics of how other things can take into account the lag and not just they game itself. You have earned a like I see a lot of people in the comments that didn't hear her topic on how having a lot of mods and custom content will also affect your game despite the mod so I'll just comment it here. Please do not blame the actual developers of the Sims 4 for your lag problems. I see that most people have these issues when you have a cheap laptop or too much custom content and mods. With a decent laptop and not too many of the mods and custom content your game can run perfectly fine. I don't have any of these issues anymore after I got myself a better laptop and no longer need this mod. The Sims 4 is a great game with or without mod please stop disrespecting the developers and giving the modders more credit than the developers that MAKE the game that you are playing. They deserve just as much respect
Ahhh tysmmm, you're so kind! Well, think of the cache the same way you'd think about your browser's cache. Those are some temporary files that keep on accumulating every time you start your game and deleting those once in a while will free up some space & make your game load a bit faster if that makes sense!

O M G, cuz this video, i removed all my download files from Download folder, and now my drive C have free 61gb that before just free 42gb :3 AND IT'S WORKING altough kinda lagging sometimes
I'm soooo glad, omg!! The Downloads folder can be insanely huge ahahah! But it's better than before, that's what matters, after all! You can also try to remove some useful cc that you might have in your Mods folder, this will surely make your game run faster! And you can actually visualise all of your cc using a program called Sims 4 studio! It just makes removing your cc 10 times easier!
also if some of u guys use the cracked version and u see something pop up where it says u can login, go offline or log out, try going offline it helps reduce lag
The problem for me was that i had a copy of the Sims 4 folder which had old data from 2021 inside (it's 2024 now, when i write this comment). I've deleted it, together with all of the old savegames, because i've made a safety copy of the newer ones anyway, and it worked fine again.
The reason why I needed this vid was Whenever I sent my Sim to work let me tell you they *NEVER* COMES HOME I SAT THERE WITH MY SIMS DOG WAITING FOR HER FOR 1 AND A HALF HOURS LIKE WTFFF

I have done everything to make my game work properly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, done all the instructions but when I go back to the game, the audio keeps skipping, repeating like a scratched CD. also, I have tried freeing up space but it seems as if the issue is that since the sims 4 is such a big game, it seems like that's the reason why my storage space is full. I have cleared all I could and the red bar is still there.

Sorry to hear that, here are some tips that may help: You can try to reset your EA folder and then place only updated versions for your mods, as shown in here: ruclips.net/video/-pCFvTcqQnQ/видео.html Keep in mind that you should not delete the old EA folder in order to copy all of your saves, tray, screenshots & cc and paste those into your newly generated EA folder. The other alternative would be scanning your Mods folder by using this BE mod & deleting your files that show up in your report list (here's a helpful tutorial: ruclips.net/video/WncYhAAtKcM/видео.html) Last but not least, if you haven't tried this already, there's also the 50/50 method that allows you to determine the problematic cc: ruclips.net/video/kp_fdyXQCfE/видео.html Let me know if it helps! 🤗
I have no houses and when i try to make one it literally just sits there and loads, it doesn’t do anything but load, it lets me make the characters and everything but when i try to save and play it just loads and i can’t do anything but wait, it’s annoying, what can i do to fix that?
Do you use mods/cc in your game? If so, did you make sure to update all of your mods after the 25th of February update? If you didn't, you can follow these steps: Rename your Electronic Arts folder in 'Electronic Arts OLD' and make a copy of this 'Electronic Arts OLD' folder & paste it on your Desktop, just to have a backup of your save files (do not delete this folder, you'll need it later on!). If you happen to use an antivirus, please try to add an exception for both your Sims 4 & Origin programs, as well as for the following websites: thesims.com & origin.com. Make sure to allow both Sims 4 & Origin within your firewall. Repair your game through Origin and then try to launch it and see if it works. If so, go to Game Options > Other > enable cc, mods and script mods. You can now fully exit your game, go to your Documents folder and a new EA folder should show up. Repair your game through Origin (go to Game Library > right click on Sims > Repair). Once this process is completed, you're free to copy your Saves, Tray and Screenshots files from your old Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders to your new Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders (located in your new EA folder). Launch your game and check if everything works properly. If so, you can copy your old cc from your old Mods folder to the newly generated Mods folder (in small batches!!) and make sure to open your game every single time you paste those just to make sure that everything works properly. If you still encounter this issue, please try to identify the problematic cc and remove it from your Mods folder. Btw, you should place your cc into your main Mods folder, do not use subfolders as some cc might not show up in the game. As far as mods go, make sure to download once again the updated versions for your mods (especially if you're using Adult mods!), extract them, copy and paste those files in your new Mods folder. Open your game and check if your issue is fixed. Let me know if this helps!
did not really work for me 😭😭😭😭 I have great graphic card, my CPU is good enough, i have enough space and it still does not do much. how is that possible ? my Sims used to work great on 140 FPS for ALL the time and now it barely reaches that number, only if there is nothing going on in the game. please help

Yesss, having your Sims installed on an external drive would def make things a lot smoother! Do pay attention to the read/write speeds, the higher, the better!

My game is not laggy it just freezes out of nowhere. To be exact it freezes for like 10 sec goes back to normal then repeat. I dont have alot of things on it cuz i just downloded it. Im so confused!!!
Do you use script mods & cc? If so, have you updated your script mods? You could also try to disable online features in your Game Settings & see if it makes a difference
my sims game is to the point where half of my buttons are misplaced or just not there. i can’t open a vet/restaurant because when i do, all of the buttons on my screen are non existent and i have to restart my whole computer! this has been going on for awhile, i want to be able to play the sims without lag or any trouble again 😭, does anyone know how to fix it?

I have had to restart my laptop over again and then I had to repair my sims 4 game. I only have one household.

I haven't really done anything, my game were so laggy before but somehow today it's so smooth, I just deleted like 3 household that i didn't use, well I'm glad i don't have to do much work now, i even changed the graphic settings from low to medium, it's still a bit laggy but acceptable tho

All I did was the going off-line thing and everything runs perfectly I spent 2 1/2 days taking out my putting mods in getting tricked that it works but then after 20 minutes and start messing up now I have like almost every mod I’ve had running and it’s running smoothly

Whenever I load my game it moves si smoothly in CAS and on the Main Menu. But when I load a household with a lot of sims , my game will start to lag. When I load my game with one sim with no house it’s so smooth and when I put cc in a house it lags badly.
You can also try to delete some items from your Sims' inventories, remove some build & buy objects that make your game run slow (such as fountains, mirrors and any other animated items). Besides that, please try to also take a look at this: ruclips.net/video/42oaMdbt1TU/видео.html

Guys another tip I just found out to make your sims game run faster is to clean your pic air vents. So like if your computer is running hot that will slow down the performance

I see a lot of people in the comments that didn't hear her topic on how having a lot of mods and custom content will also affect your game despite the mod so I'll just comment it here.
Please do not blame the actual developers of the Sims 4 for your lag problems. I see that most people have these issues when you have a cheap laptop or too much custom content and mods. With a decent laptop and not too many of the mods and custom content your game can run perfectly fine. I don't have any of these issues anymore after I got myself a better laptop and no longer need this mod. The Sims 4 is a great game with or without mod please stop disrespecting the developers and giving the modders more credit than the developers that MAKE the game that you are playing. They deserve just as much respect

Ahhh tysmmm, you're so kind! Well, think of the cache the same way you'd think about your browser's cache. Those are some temporary files that keep on accumulating every time you start your game and deleting those once in a while will free up some space & make your game load a bit faster if that makes sense!

I'm soooo glad, omg!! The Downloads folder can be insanely huge ahahah! But it's better than before, that's what matters, after all! You can also try to remove some useful cc that you might have in your Mods folder, this will surely make your game run faster! And you can actually visualise all of your cc using a program called Sims 4 studio! It just makes removing your cc 10 times easier!

The problem for me was that i had a copy of the Sims 4 folder which had old data from 2021 inside (it's 2024 now, when i write this comment). I've deleted it, together with all of the old savegames, because i've made a safety copy of the newer ones anyway, and it worked fine again.

Somewhat, except when I first open the game it takes like 10-15 minutes to load. (I do have a lot of cc tho so that adds on to it.
I have the same issue. Everything but the actual game play is smooth. I practically have to force my sims to move
I have done everything to make my game work properly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, done all the instructions but when I go back to the game, the audio keeps skipping, repeating like a scratched CD.
also, I have tried freeing up space but it seems as if the issue is that since the sims 4 is such a big game, it seems like that's the reason why my storage space is full. I have cleared all I could and the red bar is still there.
Hello there! Sorry to hear that, here are some tips that may help:
You can try to reset your EA folder and then place only updated versions for your mods, as shown in here: ruclips.net/video/-pCFvTcqQnQ/видео.html
Keep in mind that you should not delete the old EA folder in order to copy all of your saves, tray, screenshots & cc and paste those into your newly generated EA folder.
The other alternative would be scanning your Mods folder by using this BE mod & deleting your files that show up in your report list (here's a helpful tutorial: ruclips.net/video/WncYhAAtKcM/видео.html)
Last but not least, if you haven't tried this already, there's also the 50/50 method that allows you to determine the problematic cc: ruclips.net/video/kp_fdyXQCfE/видео.html

I have no houses and when i try to make one it literally just sits there and loads, it doesn’t do anything but load, it lets me make the characters and everything but when i try to save and play it just loads and i can’t do anything but wait, it’s annoying, what can i do to fix that?
Do you use mods/cc in your game? If so, did you make sure to update all of your mods after the 25th of February update? If you didn't, you can follow these steps:
Rename your Electronic Arts folder in 'Electronic Arts OLD' and make a copy of this 'Electronic Arts OLD' folder & paste it on your Desktop, just to have a backup of your save files (do not delete this folder, you'll need it later on!). If you happen to use an antivirus, please try to add an exception for both your Sims 4 & Origin programs, as well as for the following websites: thesims.com & origin.com. Make sure to allow both Sims 4 & Origin within your firewall.
Repair your game through Origin and then try to launch it and see if it works. If so, go to Game Options > Other > enable cc, mods and script mods. You can now fully exit your game, go to your Documents folder and a new EA folder should show up. Repair your game through Origin (go to Game Library > right click on Sims > Repair). Once this process is completed, you're free to copy your Saves, Tray and Screenshots files from your old Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders to your new Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders (located in your new EA folder). Launch your game and check if everything works properly. If so, you can copy your old cc from your old Mods folder to the newly generated Mods folder (in small batches!!) and make sure to open your game every single time you paste those just to make sure that everything works properly. If you still encounter this issue, please try to identify the problematic cc and remove it from your Mods folder. Btw, you should place your cc into your main Mods folder, do not use subfolders as some cc might not show up in the game. As far as mods go, make sure to download once again the updated versions for your mods (especially if you're using Adult mods!), extract them, copy and paste those files in your new Mods folder. Open your game and check if your issue is fixed.

Yesss, having your Sims installed on an external drive would def make things a lot smoother! Do pay attention to the read/write speeds, the higher, the better!

Do you use script mods & cc? If so, have you updated your script mods?
