Using hand brake to stop or on a stopped vehicle is a very bad practice. Every time you slow down, reduce speed or stop, you must use the foot brake instead. That will kick on the brake lights that give a warning to the vehicles behind that you are slower than the normal speed or stopped. Never just use the Neutral Gear and the hand brake.
