Using hand brake to stop or on a stopped vehicle is a very bad practice. Every time you slow down, reduce speed or stop, you must use the foot brake instead. That will kick on the brake lights that give a warning to the vehicles behind that you are slower than the normal speed or stopped. Never just use the Neutral Gear and the hand brake. That is very dangerous. That way the vehicles behind may not realize you are reducing speed and rear end accident is possible to happen. Always use the foot brake. Never use the hand brake for any normal driving. It is used only for emergency when the foot brake is not functioned property. That's why it's proper name is 'Emergency Brake'. Check the driving manual how to use the emergency brake. Lots of cars it is hiding underneath the dash broad and not easily accessible. If your vehicle is broken down in the middle of the road and not able to pull over to the shoulder. Stay inside the vehicle. Don't just use the hand brake. Must use or pump the foot brake to warn the vehicles behind until the first responder vehicle stay behind you.
