Amazing, these guys were solid their whole career and never disappointed. I wish the indie music scene had embraced them more, but hopefully they come back from hiatus someday and make more amazing music
So fucking beautiful and sad. I will never stop hoping and waiting for a reunion. The magic these guys created together was like no other. Thank you for immortalizing this moment.
I love this. It's almost as if he's delaying the inevitable as long as he possibly can with that drawn-out intro. This song almost perfectly chronicles the journey of the band and the end of their tenure together. This is far from the best performance of this song I've ever heard, his voice is raw from the exertion of the entire show and he doesn't have his usual bite and roar, but it doesn't matter. It's the last song he's ever going to play with his boys. All-time great and bittersweet moment you captured here, dude. Amazing.
I loved this song!! The music of this track has always really gotten me. This was my fav song from that album when it first came out... Circa 2001/2002 maybe?.. So happy to officially learn that this was indeed a autobiographical one.. I saw them at the little Local 506 once or twice over the early years.. Hung with the band once; They were great young folks.. Back when I was a young folk :). Once upon a time even earlier, They came to play in my little hometown (2004), where they played on my birthday!! though, when I was living in London.. A friend from Chapel Hill who was scheduled to fly to visit me the very next day brought for me as emphatically requested, a special walkman... fully autographed, by the Walkmen.. I listened to music while traveling the London Underground, daily. (And bc forget those battery-guzzling Discmans, back in those pre-Ipod days.) And I lived Happily Ever After : ).
What made them stop playing together? Was it the usual "growing apart" and "explore new horizons" and such phrases used to cover up an out of control ego fest?
And now they're coming back!
Never delete this video please!... Thanks for sharing :)
Never!!!

It's in the middle of indie and mainstream in my opinion.
They're back

Aubergine I remember seeing them for the 1st time at the troubadour in los angles in 2003. Amazing.
The wait is over.. They're back.
This feels like the closing scene in a music biopic. Such a great capture of something ending beautifully.
