Whenever i listen to this song i feel nostalgic for a time i never knew...90s baby. But i feel the spirit of this time and i miss the memories😊 even though i wasnt there😅😊
I grew up with this music Leon and it's as fresh and great as it was getting on for 60 years ago.Glad that a new generation can appreciate just what excitement it created for the boomers !.
1965 - They would draft you for Vietnam and you could get killed or crippled, or at least heavily traumatized. Also you would live in an incredibly racist time, where people like MLK got murdered by fanatics (or the government).

If Martha Reeves & The Vandellas heard this version of their song, they would probably be happy that someone took out the time to extend their song without any disgracement to their song. I honestly love this song.
You are very welcome. I love all of your extended music. You give all songs that flare that sounds exactly like they would had Hitsville USA would have done it back then.
My same sentiments as Mr Berry Gordy Jr of US hitville of Motown records yeah that's right I said it I know the history of it I'm from Gary Indiana grew up to Jackson Denise Williams Fred Williamson Earnest W Thomas rod from what's happening I'm proud of that I'm proud of where I'm from although most people think Gary ,ind is nothing but a little backwards city - most of folks from where I'm from their ancestors are from the country all deep part of the South, which meaning to say the point is this is where we get our managed from for my ancestor that were born in the South and slavery moved up from the different southern states to the Midwest for better opportunities,
Listening to Songs/Music like this, My Grandma was kicking me out of the house. The music listening to went to ISSAC HAYES- Pursuit of the Pimp Mobile - Violins instrumental playing, just like SOUL to SOUL - BACK TO LIFE Recording, Violin instruments playing.
"I'm burning inside" - there is one for the new wave climatologists. Gorgeous girls with beehive hairstyles. Perfect rhythm and expression. The crowd was not really buzzing to one of the greatest infectious delights though. An immortal classic. Interestingly, the Deutsche Grammophon took it into their label. For a staid but very discerning company to be so charmed by this sweetness says a lot.
1. Great song because of the greatest American band ever assembled The Funk Brothers. 2. The 3 beautiful ladies with great vocals. 3. Writing team of H.D.H.
This song made nationwide history, during the civil rights chaos! I always respect what these young ladies from motown brought to R&B charts! Bernard Hendricks
Although I was very young when this was released, I surely remember the reactionary effect this song had upon teenagers. This song was very popular during a time, when old fashioned record player's played "45's." A favorite during the golden age of "soul."
Who could dislike this art? Its only one life This music changed the American culture and influenced the planet I'm baffled This is life affirming and a huge part of who we are These artists from Detroit made a positive statement everyone At the time this music is sexy Powerful uplifting When this music appeared it was something so new and different, Detroit was at Its Apex at this time, a geographically huge city spread out across miles. The city is uniquely American and was vibrant at this juncture. From 1967 on after the conflagration Detroit's fortunes quickly changed This music is very important The true story of Dettoit should be taught in schools, so young people can know who we were and who we are as a nation Sorry for the long comments I got going on this
Those most have been the good times. The songs and the women were great. Admittedly, I can't take my eyes of the middle gal - she dances just right (for me) and has the smile.
~ 1963 Martha Reeves & the Vandellas + Holland-Dozier-Holland Motown magic, still fresh in 2018!! The soundtrack to Carrie, 1976 brought me to this festive extended version with fun video. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
I knew an engineer who worked at Hitsville in the late '60s. He knew his stuff. I wonder where he is now? I wonder even more if Mosogotam would have been there then with his modern equipment, what Motown could have done over & above what they did originally?? Mosogotam, you are the best thing to come along since the originals were released!! I was privileged to be around back then!! -Robbie B from the D
I remember “HEAT WAVE” when I was about nine-and-a-half years old. We had the original “45”. This is the first time I’ve heard the “longer version”. And I always thought Martha and the Vandellas had a more mature sound than the Supremes(my opinion).
I love my oldest brother and sister because this was their era and they played this music especially my sister and I feel blessed because I feel linked to them so close!
O ya ya i feel innlive with thosevladys when i was young vgreat music i still likevto listen to those 3 ladysv. Great great. Dancing at the disco tech in london great. I am so glad i lived in those days yayayahohohoyayaya.

I had a crush on Martha since I was a boy.

Heat Wave and Dancing in the Streets; my all time favorites!
My vote is for "HeatWave"
Yes
STILL LISTENING TO THIS MASTERPIECE IN 2023 ! LOVE IS LIKE A HEATWAVE
This song was released just before my mom became preganant with me in 1963. I believe I was born an “old soul” as a result of Motown’s amazing music.
Man the 50s through the 90's were the best time for music in America. Where did it go wrong?
These sweet divas are arguably the greatest female act at Motown.
Just give it up for Martha Reeves and the Mandellas! To many years that this group has not received recognightion. Thank you for the great memories!
Oh my god, the end of this song could never stop…this sax is still alive!
Good old swinging out music 🎶 still listening in 2024❤❤🎉🎉
This song never gets old😊
one of the best if not the best Motown recordings
Classic!
Im 27 years old and this is just what i need something to sing with going crazy you just cant stop moving when u here this
Martha, Betty and Roz! The best lineup of Martha & The Vandellas! Every song was a jam.
Berry Gordy said that he loved to watch Martha perform and that he was amazed at how she could get an audience stirred up...

wow Martha had somethin special going on!
I just want to say Martha & the Vandellas the real Supremes, the Queen & her 2 court ladies.❤ 👑
Martha Reeves is the true "Queen of Soul.Three girlfriends I sure would like to have,
60s' the greatest decade of music. So thankful that I was part of it. Best Music Ever hands down
Can you repeat that
The first time I heard this song in 1963 LOVED it. Sounds even better now. Thank you!
I WAS 13 IN '63 AND THIS WAS MY FAVORITE SONG IN '63....".OLD SCHOOL MUSIC RULES " :)
Heard on my AM radio....1963....age 8...
@@marclayne9261 9 and remember when my older cousin picked me up on rainy days in her mom's car with the radio on OUR station.
This song has some of the best backing vocals, voices and arranging of any song I’ve heard

@@isartoraplatz SMOKEY DIDN'T WRITE THIS SONG! IT WAS HOLLAND, DOZIER, HOLLAND...
Three great ladies and had such a hard times in those days. Respect to you all.
Beautiful young women with a whole lot of soul! Love it ✌️👍
Love these 3 ladies!
I grew up in that era,... what raw and beautiful creative talent,, just wish people these days could realize what that actually means.
Barry Gordy made music 🎵 for young Americans in the 1960's, the tunes dominate the charts putting Motown on the charts and map, great job Mr.Gordy.
Motown rode these ladies back and gave Motown a solid legitimacy.
"I'm burning inside" - there is one for the new wave climatologists.

before the Supremes rocked your world there were the Vandellas
It revives the same emotions as it did some 55 years ago. Ain’t that unbelievable! Most of Motown 60’s do! Eternal joy!!!
Some of the best of 60s music right here.. Love their sound..
makes me feel happy and grateful i grew up in that era
They don't write em like that anymore 👍🔥✌️
Just amazing in every way. When talent ruled, guys and girls could actually sing and belt out songs. When music was great. The 1960s and 1970s
This song makes me feel great. Can' t help but wanna dance.
The theory of everything movie 🍿🎥 brought me here! Blessings and Hugs 💖🤗🙏🤗🙏🤗🙏🤗🙏!
Martha was very pretty.

Another Funk Brothers masterpiece. I miss this stuff!
When I was a kid I wanted to be a Vandella - loved their moves and edgy sound😍
Kids in the audience have no idea how lucky they were to be there.
Hot lady's in there day , and great voices , we are lucky enough and thankful for the upload .
1. Great song because of the greatest American band ever assembled The Funk Brothers.
2. The 3 beautiful ladies with great vocals.
3. Writing team of H.D.H.
Greatest Female Vocal Group. Met them at Palisades Park, NJ in 1963......
There is no words can express this song but its BRILLANT Iiiiii lovvvvvve ittttttt
This song made nationwide history, during the civil rights chaos! I always respect what these young ladies from motown brought to R&B charts! Bernard Hendricks
Dancing in the Street was even more topical.
Although I was very young when this was released, I surely remember the reactionary effect this song had upon teenagers. This song was very popular during a time, when old fashioned record player's played "45's." A favorite during the golden age of "soul."

@Steven Quinn: Very well said...
The Funk Brothers + Holland Dozier Holland was a damn good combination. The musicians where in the pocket....
Those most have been the good times. The songs and the women were great. Admittedly, I can't take my eyes of the middle gal - she dances just right (for me) and has the smile.
Betty Kelly from Kakamazoo
great sync - I'd swear it was a live show the way the words and mouth movements match. An all-time favourite.
Looks like a show we had in London on Friday night called "Ready Steady Go"
memories from the teen years lovely

Fabulous.............I was dancing to this back in the day at Tiffs in Sunderland the only soul club in the Northeast of the UK..
Those are three truly beautiful sisters!!! They are my favorite Motown group.🦋💞🦋
"Does the high blood pressure got a hold on me..." I always love the presence of the baritone sax in Motown Music. Major Props. Lasts 4 ever.
One sees so many dance moves from the time in their performance, the Monkey, Jerk, Locomotion, Mash Potatoes, Swim and so on.
This song needs to be extended. Thanks.

This is awesome ! My kind of mix. Such a great era of music in that time period.
All good things in time - this version rocks!
