Got mine also from my wife. I'm rooting also that ours will last longer than the watch. Or else you'll be seeing me here again in the comment section 😂
I sold my G-Shk for this one because I needed a simple LARGE Display ... I was ”Shocked” how cheap priced these were.... When I was younger I had a several thousand dollar swiss watch , gave those away.. Funny how as we get older plain simple practicality is all we care for
It has been years since I had a watch that was "THE ONE". Back in my teens it was a Timex automatic, in my 30s it was a Timex digital that had the screw on back plate. I'm now pushing 60 and started looking for a watch with large characters and I stumbled across this one. Walmart had it for $19.92. They also had a khaki colored one that I decided to go back and pick up, but it was gone when I got there. I think I am going to stick with this one because it is the new "THE ONE". GREAT REVIEW, GREAT WATCH for anyone with older eyes.
Couldn't help but get one of these soon after they were release. IMO it's for folks who love the look of expensive Garmin and Suunto GPS fitness watches, but don't want to spend the dosh or need the features.
I find it hard to beat Casio for regular affordable watches and agree with you to put one in the car, office desk and even a spare in the back pack. Great value back up watches that can be a daily wear too. I do find myself reaching for a G-Shock if any rough activity requires it though.
There’s also a smaller version of the analog MRW- series. It is called the LRW-, they are aimed at the ladies. I picked one up in black, with white markers and hands for my 7 year old son, who likes to admire my dive watches. He likes it a lot, and it fits his small wrist well!
I'm wearing mine right now, in the Tan (€36) picked it up today, looks cool big old face with big numbers, 10 year battery which should last until January 2033 so that's nice. I have had a G shock for 10 years that cost €80 back in the day but I've spent around €150 on getting the batteries changed in that time.
The trouble with so many Casio watches is unless you have good eyesight they are hard to read. This watch however is different. Love the big read out and the Dual time, Stop Watch, and Timer are a real bonus. Great value watch.
You know nothing about Casios if that bothers you - they have been always "advertising" the features on their watches, from stating the battery is Lithium to WR. That was always pat of their charm, since 70's.
I bought a watch that has a dark display. So far it works flawlessly and is great for everyday use. However, I think that digital watches with bright displays are much more practical in situations where the light is reduced because the content on the display is more visible, so you don't have to use the watch's light. No matter which variant you choose, you won't have a problem, because the price/quality ratio is, in my opinion, optimal.
Got 2 of the positive dial versions the Blue and the Green recently bought and installed a Gorilla glass dial protector for mine to make them more robust. Will take a look at a negative display now after your review (:
I really find it impossible to read the negative display on the wrist where you cannot perfectly line the watch up square with your eyes. The positive display is easy to read (kinda the whole point of this watch) and has a more pleasing black finish imo.
Nice watch. Rugged look, legible, has all the basic functions I need, and a 10 year battery life. I've been wearing mine a lot over the past two months. The acrylic crystal is a downside though. Mine has already collected a few fine scratches. I would have paid extra for a mineral crystal. No idea how much that would add to the prize, but it can't be that bad?
Before it gets a scratch on the crystal get a smartwatch tempered glass screen protector, they make them in all sizes, i put them on my protreks, if it gets scratched just peel it off and stick on a new one. saves the original crystal.
@@Simon5ez I don't know, get a set of digital calipers from someone and measure the face to determine the largest one that will fit ( i only have pro-treks that i did it to)
Outside of the 5600 my favorite g shock has been the lesser known ga-800-4a (red). The 41mm size is a much better feeling/fit than most of the larger round shocks like my mudman ga-9300 (51mm).
Very nice watch, unfortunately no options with the bracelet. Once upon a time, the Casio Forester series had a leather strap with a quick-release buckle. Maybe a Casio bracelet from a different model fits this model?
DBC-32! I like mine, but i´m not wearing it a lot. If the AE1500 would have a positive lcd display: yes, i´d pay $20 - although Casio models are absolutely always 2-3x the price in Euro on Amazon Germany.
I bought the khaki positive display model. I got it to read at night without my glasses. Works well. November 2021 I got from Amazon for less than $20. I am thinking about hydromodding it. Will a G Shock NATO strap adapter work?
I really like the look of this but feel like it may be kinda big. But I guess that’s the point. Can’t beat that price though! Might have to check one out at some point
I have a negative display w800h and its borderline useless. Is this model any better? I know theres discrepancies in negative display casio legibilities watch to watch.
How did my least expensive watch become my favorite watch????? This watch is it, I have way more expensive G-shocks, Seikos, and Citizens, but this thing just became my favorite watch.
Love this watch, but can't for the life of me understand why they put "10 Year Battery" on the face. It would be like a new vehicle coming with "30 MPG" on the hood. I have three variants of the white face seen here; and pound for pound you literally cannot go wrong with them. I keep one of them still attached to my pack as a backup and it's dead on accurate.
Anyone know the difference between AE-1500WH-5AVCF and AE-1500WH-5AVEF?One is US sold and other is Europe but is any other different things?maybe date format?
Since everyone these days have smartphones, wearing a watch is somewhat of a novelty since a smartphone can do everything a watch does and much much more!
Yes but not everyone likes "smart" watches I sold mine because I didn't like that you can be tracked also it ran out of battery all the time oh and also it kept notifying me with messages which is really annoying.
I have exactly this wrist size and the watch fits me like a glove. Often I don't even notice that I'm wearing the watch because it's so light and comfortable.
The battery life lasts longer than my first marriage😂. This watch is legendary

It was a toss up between the Khaki and Green model for me. They both look pretty sharp. Got the green.
Good looking piece, amazing for the price.
A watch you still can read after a few hours in the pub 🍻

So funny.
So true, this watch is fantastic for when I’m wearing my beer goggles 👍

I like the negative display
Negative dial gives it a lowkey piece. Built like a G and great for daily use. Love it.
Love casios but wish they would stop advertising the “10 year battery” on the watch head. Put it in the instruction manual
They should put it on the inside bezel ring in a very small font size
I buffed it off.
just use goo away and q-tips and some time
@@brian_belanger It doesn't damage the bezel?

my only complain to these affordable casio is the screen easily get scratched. i dont mind paying a little bit extra for mineral glass

Love this watch for daily use and installed tempered glass because this is not mineral glass. better than my ga-110gb
Casio dominates digital watches
How come no one goes over the timer/countdown on these digital watches? Can you set a timer for seconds?
The countdown on the Casio "Royale" does do seconds.
I love it this watch is waterproof ro not waterproof? Sir if it is waterproof, I will buy it.

10 year battery. By the time the battery goes, just buy another watch.

I cannot find this watch anywhere in the EU :(
What nato strap would you recommend for this watch
Definitely run through a list of cheap Casios
Does this watch have the Auto EL function where you tilt your wrist and the light comes on?
No.
Can you put the combi bracelet or nato adapter on this watch?
Is it true that the glass of the watch scratches easily?
It’s not even glass lol. It’s basically plastic so yes it will scratch very easily.
How many millimeters is the glass?
I'm asking for the protector.
43mm
This clock cost almost 100 dollar in Norway the year of 2023 :)
Is this a watch Bravo 1 in Seal team wear???
Are buttons plastic or metal?
I just ordered.

a bit chunky, feels like a clock on the wrist?
Oh boy, an unreadable negative display hockey puck.
Love the "military" label it gets. Just in case you don't want your enemy standing over your shoulder to read the time. Laughable!
True, its not legible even in ordinary room light.
I hope this watch have tough solar :(

The watch is way too big for me but I am surprised you can get a watch for 20 dollars US.

In the philipines its being sold at $50 .. not cheap.
Too large. Sooooo many Casios are really really small or gigantic. 53mm lug to lug...smh
if you're a female its true
It’s not bad for the price and what it does
Negative display is so bad, even at natural light, i returned it.
Those 6 ugly fake screws all around the bezel ruin it for me, even at this price.
You can add them in yourself
