The Black Border is much shinier and cooler, also feels more accomplishing.
The Gold Border looks too much like butter, and not the good type of butter.

@@eat_you_beans5252 Skydoesminecraft. Not so popular these days, but if you were at the right age just as Minecraft originally became (and for a long time stayed) popular, you'd understand. Calling gold "budder" was one of his major themes used in pretty much any of his videos.
The main reason that i dont have a black border on every map is *half cash*

I really thought black and gold borders were the same and some maps just had different colored borders. I was trying to figure out if there was some sort of pattern to which maps got which colored borders but this makes much more sense
The deleted scenes are great, I wouldn't mind more of that xddd

I had no idea gold border existed for a long time I didn't realise quitting out was even an option so I haven't done it since. All beginners are currenlty black bordered but man it's a grind need to take big breakks

Fun fact: the insta monkeys can have gold and black borders as well
Gold for registering that you had every combination for that monkey at some point (kind of like the pokedex in pokemon)
Black border for currently having at least one of every combination of upgrades for that monkey
(Kind of like a living dex in pokemon)
There are a few who farm insta monkeys and have those borders
it doesn’t matter if you currently have the insta monkey or not.
gold border is for having all tier 0-4 monkeys in the collection at some point
black border is for having all insta monkeys, including tier 5s, at some point

Thank you!!!! I have a gold border on Cabin as well and it was driving me nuts. It was my first so I never realized it was being I hopped to home. I honestly remember that option so infrequently I am surprised I got it on an easy map. Maybe I had to stop and hit home by accident on my phone instead of just closing the app? 🤷
Shoot. I would always get a phone call in the late game and mess up the whole run. Lol

I'm starting to black border all Intermediate maps. I already did all of the Beginner and I am focused on Intermediate.
you said that you get a gold border if you exit the game during chimps. that isnt 100% true. if you exit MID-ROUND you get a gb but if you exit when a round isnt playing (time between rounds) you still get bb

I was doing chimps and decided that I wanted a gold border so I quit than rejoined on round 100
best way is to complete all on chimps then complete half cash then complete everything else
I have ocd and it hurts to look att black borders and then a Gold one just in there
Something that everyone seems to never talk about is how this also happens if you lose and retry from the previous round. You will get a gold bolder.
That was added way after this video was released
what about having the 1st page black border then the 2nd gold then the 3rd black and so on so on 😵
As soon as you clear a page, NK drops a new map! Haha I’ve had several full pages then new maps change it

Monkey meadows, i had it gold bordered and just needed to do chimps in one go.
I think I prefer the look of the gold border but the black border feels so rewarding with it's sparkles
Can't wait to get the rest of the maps done, might challenge myself to do it by 2023

this doesn’t matter if you completed all the difficulty’s and on easy,medium,and hard the real accomplishment is getting a gold or black border for going through the pain and spending time you can’t judge people on what border they have it’s their achievement and it took them forever so at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what border you have
Golden Border is Rank S of that Map, while the Onyx (Black) one is the Rank P.

I’m so close to my first black border I just need to beat half cash on monkey meadows but it SOOOOOOOOO HARD
A few things :
Bottom path ice Can destroy any normal bloons
Moab mauler is a cheap tower for what it does
Quincy is your way of dealing with Camo lead
Top path mage is very good
I beat four circles but for some reason it’s a gold border
they can technically cancel each other out but yes i would say black is better

Someone argued that every player can get a black border, but no player with a black border can replace it with a gold border so gold border is rarer and better
But black border is harder to get

You can barely even see the gold border
I have black borders on all of the easy maps and only a few of the immediate maps. Too difficult to complete chimps on the other maps. I notice that all of the content creators will complete chimps on the easy maps, never on the harder maps. BTD6 should make it possible to complete the other maps to get black borders.
I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not but every map is possible on Chimps

Are you serious??? My game crashes/ freeze like at least every 30 minutes. So frustrating the only reason I have a gold boarder isn't even my fault
