    Real country songs like this make me cry.I also cry when I hear the new country music today because it has lost all it's country sound.i miss real country so much.To be fair there is a few country musician's left out there who say new country has lost its roots.But I suppose times do change. I only wish real country would stay.

    Web Pierce is a country music legend..never forgotten..his sound of music lives on in our heart and what entertainment he brought to his fans..The best never die's and he sang so sweet..RIP

    When I was stationed at Fort Campbell in the early 50s I spent a lot of Saturday nights setting in the old Ryman watching him, Roy Acuff, and others on stage doing this type of music

    Love these old songs, grew up on them... miss the real country music, and there are still many country artist. But they don't get air play anymore. Sad!! When I grew up we had Country stations and Rock & Roll stations. Life was good.

    1952 is the year I was born..but..I grew up listening to Web Pierce because my mother liked his music..what a country sensation..and legend..enjoy Web's singing and they don't make music and songs like they use too..so sad..too bad..This is quality..still listening in 2020

    I remember fried chicken and covered dishes dinners where everyone brought their guitars and other instruments and picked and sang late into the night. Where the kids eventually wore out and were put on pallets to sleep but the beer and music kept on going. Sometimes until the sun came up.

    Saw the movie , the Last Picture Show, was a great movie, getting to listen to all of the old songs was the best part of all. You could almost see those kids coming back from Mexico, say they needed several hrs. of sleep.

      I was born in 1958 when i was 5yrs old my dad & mum loved their old country music we sit around the fire place in winter & listen to Hank Locklin, Kitty Wells & many more then further down the track we listen to Jim Reeves, Ferlin Huskie i think thats how you spell his name. Love the old style country music, beats todays country music.

    It is interesting that Kitty Wells was a very good female Honky Tonk singer, who actually never did any of what she sings about. Thing is she sounds genuine. She sounds believable. She is just fabulous. She is my favorite female singer, her and Wanda Jackson.

    67 years old, the song. 36 comments since this song was posted Jan 30, 2016. This is September 29, 2019 and not one of you thought to address the angst of either song. Especially Wells' explanation of men and how we treat women. It is, ladies and gentlemen, what these two songs are about. You can ignore it or not at your peril.
