That intro is HILARIOUS 😂 You, my friend, are a beacon of joy at this moment. Thank you for adding humor to this frustrating circumstance!
It always makes me laugh when people say minimalists are gonna die first, because people act like minimalism means you gotta YEET everything you have and shop every day and never ever buy enough to last a while. Personally, I have health problems on a normal day, so I stock up on essentials for me especially when on sale that I can eat. I usually keep a couple weeks worth of basics around to minimize my trips back and forth (I have to walk a mile to get there and walking a mile back with heavy bags is tiring). This has made me even more certain that this lifestyle is important to stay on track with because I am finding there are a lot of things in my belongings that I'm not using despite being home constantly. I can be a slight prepper and also not buy too much!
I am blessed to live in the Farm to Fork capital of California and be able to access fresh produce all the time and in great variety so I know I don't need to buy a lot of that at once. Our grocery stores are well stocked and I have three nearby. They're limiting the amount of certain stuff people can buy at a time to make sure no one is hoarding but I'm still having trouble getting things like gluten free pastas and bread. I figure those items probably will take time but will eventually restock. :) I'll just make do in the mean time!
I am lucky to have delivery services for the bigger stuff I can't bring home on foot (I am unable to drive at the moment because of a car crash last year). I am so glad people are focusing on what matters and helping each other out rn. Everyone is very aware of my issues and trying to help and I hope to return the favor when this is all over. I've seen a bit of the opposite as well, but I'm choosing to ignore that. Those people are not ones I would likely communicate with in normal circumstances anyway.
I also have my toilet paper automatically delivered every 3 months because I hate having to go find it at the store usually so I just put it on my credit card and have it sent. I don't even think about it.

This pandemic ruined my last year in university, we were not able to have our graduation ceremony. It may just be a symbolic ceremony but it is a milestone in our lives. Students work really hard to graduate, likewise our parents work twice as hard to see their children graduate🙁 but I think this pandemic benefitted the fresh graduates that are anxious to look for employment, it somehow gave us the time to relax after school. Stay safe everyone!
    P.S. The intro was funny😂

Rah L. Yes it’s true but walking across the stage is part of it and it’s something that’s never going to come back to us as it’s a once in a life time opportunity almost to most people, that others before may have experienced and been telling us for years and we won’t be able to experience it which is why it is upsetting and not to mention the difficulty of trying to get through this semester with little to no support and on top of that this. Whoever is graduating has a valid reason to be upset. So there’s no need to be that way with your comment if your not gonna understand how others would feel.

    • @DemetriPanici

As a fellow introvert, love having all this time to myself although I dearly miss a few of my co-workers. As to the TP issue, it’s really not a necessity in the same category as food and water. It’s a convenience. If you have access to some sort of soft material/fabric and hot water, you’re fine (or at least I am, if need be).

Thanks for the message here. The timing is uncanny because I had a rough week last week, where I was really submerged in staying up to date and trying to be informed "just in case" I needed to prepared for anything. Now I limit my consumption of news to every 2-3 days, instead of 2-3 times a day. There are so many other areas to focus on, such as ourselves, those we care about and of course practicing kindness to others!

    Minimalism helped me
    1. save money every month so I worry less about my job future
    2. know what I really need, what brings me joy, and what I do not want in my life
    3. I know who I am and how to spent quality time at home alone
    4. I created a "to do" list and a "me time" list, so I don't waste my lifetime, get bored or go crazy in times of isolation. In case of emergency, I call a friend
    5. years ago I've stocked durable resources to survive a month: water, noodles, rice, toilet paper 😏 just things that won't be thrown away, I use up and rebuy them constantly (my cheap apartment is bigger than I need)
    6. I still have books and games that would last for two years, now I can "use them up" then I sell or donate them in my minimalism journey
So... 7. I can stay calm, do my best and enjoy the quarantine 😊

And I agree with your thoughts about buying enough of what you know you will need vs panic buying and overbuying. I heard about a toilet paper panic in the USA in the 70s - it was all a rumor, misreported, but it created a real panic and shortage, just because everyone thought “well I better buy some extra, don’t want to run out”. Humans can be dumb sometimes. Stay well!

You have really helped me in my journey through minimalism but I was just wondering your thoughts on this since I often find my mind cluttered with them as my mind used to be.

      Thanks for the comment Garrettt.
Just like how minimalism is not a one-size-fits-all lifestyle, I see these rules and terms merely just as a guideline, a training wheels for others to understand better. But if they do nothing more than clutter your mind, you can always keep it simple and live it your way. Like what they always say minimalism is different for everyone.
I hope this can help you out!
