This song was originally written by the band's drummer, (Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, RIP), after he took a hiatus from society and lived in a cabin in the woods for a few months alone. He was given time to just brainstorm as much as he wanted and about whatever he wanted. This was the brain child of that experience.

This song was on a metal playlist that I'd listen to while doing yard work and similar things. Due to the fact that I was always preoccupied and usually using loud machinery, I never really paid attention to the lyrics, but I really liked the music. Then one day a buddy of mine started describing the song's lyrics to me and asked if I'd ever heard it. I told him I hadn't, so he played it for me, and I realized that I had been listening to it for months...
I'm 23yo girl and I first heard this at 12 years old. It turned me on to rock and metal and even though I grew out of this kind of "softer" kind of metal I still love it and still know the lyrics after all these years.
I'm a heavier music enjoy myself, but this is a far superior peice of art than almost any really heavy music, alot more talent required to make a piece like this.
I mean, its by "AVENGED sevenfold". If you get killed in one of their songs, expect to come back and wreck shit to who did it to you.
