      Adam I would love to see you really healthy and feeling good. I would hope that would in turn give you more self-esteem and not run yourself down in your own comments section, jokingly or not.

    23:10 I have a friend who teaches linguistics in Kyoto. German, English, and Mandarin. There has been a big effort by schools to broaden the access for classes for students (specialized teaching) as well as the fact that AI (for once) has a benefit in helping those learn quicker (albeit the calculator/math argument still exists there too).

    Most enjoyable, thank you. I’m going this fall. Would never dare to go in the summer, I would melt.

    That is an awesome intro shot of the Yamanote line. Yes the trains in Japan work so much better than the UK at least, I agree. Always love watching your Japan videos!

    Fun fact about train layout
    A guest on an old Joe Rogan podcast (Paul Stamets/mycologist) stated that the Japanese train system is most efficient because the routes were designed by fungi. They studied how root systems in mold/fungi/? would operate in nature and discovered how efficient it would be to implement the idea over to mapping trains and cities. Nifty!...and it shows!

    Every time you make a Japan video I get sad and jealous lol. The Japanese transit seems so efficient and clean. My American self wishes we had a system a fraction as good as theirs. That curry place looked good. All that fast food looked so horribly good lol. That Suzuki looked sick! Love seeing the little kit cars and go karts. Loved all the cameos lol

    19:28 fun fact English class became mandatory in Elementary school grade 5 and above in 2011. Pretty much anyone under 40 will have a understanding in the big city's. The soft power with movies and tv shows etc is just too massive along with the mandatory learning of the younger generation.

    • @SebastianBojek
      @SebastianBojek 4 месяца назад

      @@CapChronic the problem with that is that it’s only mandatory once a week for one class. You don’t learn a second language if you have a class once a week. And most kids have no interest in English. It’s just the time to say funny words to a strange looking person!
      Trust me been there and I know a few who are there now!

    Enjoyed - well put together. Lived in Atsugi a few years as a Navy brat back in the mid to 80's. Lots of fun going off base once I turned 8 and got my first ID (White ID card/limited use). We would take the trains everwhere. Was a little nervous the first time, but then I would notice the Japanese kids in their school unifirms that looked half our age [(probably samish age due to 'gaijin big' like Godzilla)insert: japanese inflection/dialect].
    Really just reminded me of the 'different' seasonal milkshake drinks at McDonald's: kiwi, peach, grape(?), and many others that were all delicious as a kid. Good to see Japan is still looking clean, safe, and keeping the awesome train system in order.

    You’re so right about the trains.
    And YES, especially Germany thinks they have the best.

    definitely jealous of the kura sushi! I think there's a few here in the states but don't know how close one would be to us, sadly. neat to hear how much more english is showing up over there, though. don't know if we'd ever actually make it to Japan, so nice to live vicariously through these videos, haha.

      The American ones are good, in terms of the food. But the price is astronomical sadly. Atlanta Dave and I went to one. Like 10 plates for $40.

    Way too much food in this video. (I drip in sarcasm). I would have more to say, but I'm too tired to think of anything witty. Thanks Adam.

    When I met up with my Japanese friend in Osaka we were in a line and there were some french people ahead of us. He said "French people don't really speak english do they?". So even the Japanese notice the thing I have faced when I have gone to France. Japanese people are learning english, but not French lol.

    • @AdamEatsTheWorld
      @AdamEatsTheWorld  4 месяца назад +1

      They used to have a lot more French there, but it caused a lot of problems.
