Gotta say. Lived in this incredible place for ten years. Now in Vietnam for 2 years and.....the only thing I miss of SA. Fucking wonderful Melville man! Thx 4 posting
Yes, there are two that come to mind. There is a Spar (www.spar.co.za/home/store-view/superspar-melville-gauteng) opposite May's chemists (www.mayschemists.co.za), and then there is a fairly big shopping centre called Campus Square (www.campussquare.co.za) just up the road.
True, the high walls and electric fences are a common sight, but they also highlight the diverse realities of urban living in Johannesburg. Each area has its own character!
Comment below if you would like to see more like this.
I'm so glad you finally did a Melville drive... One of the coolest neighbourgoods in the world.

No one going to mention the high walls and electric fences?

a bit strange really ...... no atmosphere ....... no people ..... ok so first 5 mins .... gave up.
This is a residential suburb probably this video was recorded during the week, children are at school, parents at work.
At the 2:45 mark, I worked in a shop 50 meters ahead and got robbed there. Twice. Pistol whipped once. That is why you dont see people in that area
