TY. Respect for all Mongolian people. Franklin Graham had a nice gospel meeting there a while back. Awesome event.

My ancestral home also needs to prepare coal before winter, and the cost is about 700~1000RMB (100~140$). A tradition during the Spring Festival is to build a fire tower with coal cubes.

Thanks for sharing. When I see how people have to struggle to stay a little warm I feel shame when people here complain about minor inconveniences.

They need a proper insulation and an efficient heating source, like the traditional brick or stone made stoves. These materials have better heat retention in compare with metal stoves that cool down quickly.

Though I guess brick or stone stoves are harder to pack up if they're moving, so they fit less well in gers, don't they?

the government requires them to have this stove at their homes because supposedly it emits no smoke and helps reduce air pollution.

my grandparents use to put brick inside the stove. I think many people use that trick in Mongolia.

I love that they have a cat❣️ It’s so sad to see the gap between rich and poor growing bigger and bigger in Mongolia. It’s great that the economy is growing, but it seems to be leaving a lot of people behind. ❤😢

No problem. We can also do a collaboration on Mongolian trains.

Thank you for showing us the life of the poor people in Mongolia and their everyday struggle. The life is harsh for them. Hope at least the girl would have a better life. I just don’t get why they still don’t use brick or stone made stoves. They are not nomads anymore. and it also very cheap to build and efficient in use in compare with metal stoves that cools down very quickly.

Probably cant get the supplies or time or skills to build them. Its not so simple most of the time to just change how things are done. Theres probably a good reason for doing it the traditional way

In the ger districts, dogs usually stay outside as people keep them to protect their homes.
