Hi Jay and Amber. This video reminds me: have you ever tried to get Def Leppard involved in any of these creator videos? Jay, I know how much you love them and Joe Elliott could talk ALL DAY about music history. As a matter of fact, one of his favorite genres is early 70s glam. DL has an album from 2022 that has a glammy-glam sound called Diamond Star Halos which is a shout out to T-Rex's Get It On. You should get Joe on the horn and watch the video for Kick off that album with him.
SO COOL to see Tony Visconti on here, Ya'll!! LOVED Marc Bolan (Gone Too Soon) and T. Rex!! Cosmic Dancer was one of my FAVORITES!!! THANKS, TONY, for bringing your knowledge to us!! SO COOL TO HEAR!!! RIP, MARC BOLAN! HUGS, YA'LL!!!
Tony married into a couple of Beatle connections. He was married to both Mary Hopkin who recorded Those Were the Days, and Goodbye (both produced by Paul McCartney, Goodbye written by Paul), and May Pang, John's girlfriend when he was separated from Yoko Ono. He also did the orchestral arrangements for Paul's album Band on the Run. He was co-producer on the first albums by the Beatles Apple label band Badfinger.
T-REX Marc BOLAN Born: 30 September 1947, Stoke Newington, London, United Kingdom Died: 16 September 1977 (age 29 years), Barnes, London, United Kingdom which robbed the world of another greatest artist!
There's a memorial to Marc in Barnes, near where the car crashed. I visit it at least once every year, and have been for more than a decade now and think back to when I got a copy of Bolan Boogie as a 13 year old (maybe 14). It's sad we lost Marc so young but I'm so happy he's still remembered fondly by so many fans, old and new.
Tony Visconti!!! You guys are mining the dolomite of Rock n' Roll Mountain! I'm so glad that Tony talked about how he captured the back-tracking of Marc Bolen's guitar. I made somebody smile today, and then you made me smile once more! You always do, 3 times a day!
dancing... Love this one. Love the drums. Very nice strings, Tony. Always got just a bit of King Crimson in the drums.. Brilliant. Haven't listened to this in decades. Thanks Tony. Thanks, Jay and Amber.
Tony Visconti is British Rock Royalty and was an integral part of Seventies music. I hadn’t heard this track in a lifetime but it still holds up surprisingly well. ✌️
I was today years old when I discovered this wonderful song. I was at a friends birth and she had this on her playlist and I just loved it! She said she thought the lyric "I danced myself right out the womb" was fitting and I agree. This conversation with Tony Visconti is fabulous and I loved listening to how the song got to be made - fascinating stuff.
I was a teen during the second British invasion. My brothers were die hard Led Zeppelin fans. I fell in love with British glam rock. Slade, Mott the Hoople, David Bowie, and especially T-Rex. But it wasn't until the digital age that I heard and appreciated all the nuances in the music of this band. Totally due to Tony Visconti's production genius. Thank you sir for some epic music!
Do yourself a favor and dig in to the albums “Electric Warrior” and “The Slider”, both are phenomenal starting points for the goldmine of the T.Rex catalog.
T-Rex is fantastic. For your next movie reaction you should check out Billy Elliot, which uses this song and a lot of other T-Rex music. Wonderful movie!
Back in the day, even after Marc's death, I was obsessed with T- Rex. I bought every album, every bootleg and virtually everything by Marc Bolin. It's a deep dive. (Don't forget Howard Kaylan & Mark Volman, as back-up vocals for T-Rex.)
Like Prince in later years , Marc Bolan was an Innovator in Music , he was so so talented, decades ahead of anyone back then, Rabbit hole his songs guys, there's some truly amazing songs to be found ❤
Tony and Marc a match made in heaven. I was lucky enough to see Marc live and you can’t describe just how much charisma he had and the aura he gave out.
This song was great at the beginning of the Billy Elliot movie. Lots of T. Rex in the soundtrack. The Motivator is another great song on the Electric Warrior album.
My first musical memory was seeing T Rex on the UK Top of the Pops TV programme. 53 years later, I'm still a fan! PS to anyone who hasn't heard this album - Electric Warrior...check it out. Pure rock n' roll heaven.
I’m a huge T-Tex fan. So happy you got back to them and cool on Tony being here. Also check out Metal Guru, Celebrate Summer, Dandy In The Underworld, and Ride A White Swan. And a simple but catchy little diddy called New York City. The lyrics will have you guys scratching your head but it has an interesting inspiration to it.
Tony is such an important part of the music we all know and love, you are very fortunate to have him on your channel. When you talk to him again please give him a Thank you from me.
It's nice to see you guys covering T-Rex. I love Mark Bolan then and I still do. A true original songwriter. Cosmic dancer is one of my favorites. This song was featured in the film Billy Elliot. Awesome movie making by the way.
T-Rex a group I grew up listening to. Marc Bolan was so different just like Bowie! You can't go wrong reacting to more of T-Rex, hits like Jeepster, Hot Love, Children of the Revolution, Metal Guru, Telegram Sam, 20th Century Boy, Solid Gold Easy Action. Listening to this group as a teenager in this period of time I thought he was quite sexy, the way he looked and sang.
Not many producers have produced so many great artists like Visconti. He even did Hazel O’Conners “will you”, with the greatest sax solo ever! Beautiful song, so glad you liked it.
DUDE!!! Tony Visconti? That's rock n roll royalty! Congratulations for catching his attention. I noticed him first as the producer of Gentle Giant's first album in 1969 to later find him playing bass with David Bowie in 1970. I'm so proud of you guys snagging Tony Visconti. Wow! I follow your channel since the days of Jay solo and the colored brick wall. It continues to be a place to go to relax from the day and hear good music. I like your movie channel as well, though I only recently discovered it. Stay healthy guys!
1973-1976 in college the 1st album I bought was T-Rex "The Slider", my 2nd album was David Bowie "Aladdin Sane", I got 😮 all my roommates and friends 🚶♂️ 🚶♀️ 🚶♂️ hooked on both of them, I saw Bowie 3 times in concert and I have a VHS tape of MARC the TV show on British Television 📺, I wish I could have seen him in concert, he died so young RIP MARC. Peace ✌️and Love❤ your 70 year old forever hippie Gary😊 it was great seeing Tony Visconti and your reaction 🤣 ✌️
OMG. Tony is living 20th century history. One of the most important, impactful figures in music & the man behind many of the albums that revolutionized the world.
Nice reaction guys and great to hear Tony speak so fondly of Marc. Tony was an important part of the T.Rex sound. Would love to see you review some of the other great stuff that Tony did with T.Rex (eight albums? and loads of fantastic stuff hidden away on the flip sides of singles). Suggest you give Rip Off from Electric Warrior a blast in a future video if you haven't already heard it. Bob😀
I love that you're getting these great guests to add their knowledge and experience to your reactions. Such depth, priceless insights and anecdotes: who else could tell us Marc Bolan booted them in the jewels. 😂 😊🤙🏼🤙🏼🔥❤️🍁❤️✨️🕊
I've just finished Tony's book, Bowie, Bolan and the Brooklyn Boy, an absolutely brilliant journey from cover to cover! Decades after my first listen to Electric Warrior, and I still love every single track on it. Nick Cave's version of Cosmic Dancer is just - beautiful.
As is the video for the cover by post-punk band Bauhaus who were heavily influenced by glam rock (especially Bowie), but who of course added their own peculiar flair. You've heard Cuts You Up by their lead singer, Peter Murphy.
This song is wild, knowing Marc Bolan died young, at 29, killed in an auto accident. Jeepster is my favorite, one of his many car songs. The girl in Bang a Gong was built like a car?
WOW, I MISSED THIS WITH TONY!!!! Not to mention Flo & Eddie of The Turtles doing the high-pitched background vocals there you can hear at the end! Bill Legend was the drummer and he's still around doing stuff now, props to him! Nice "chaser" of The Beatles there Great choice of T.Rex tune!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This song and “Monolith” are actually my favorite tracks from the Electric Warrior album. The whole album is great, but those two “Jeepster” and “Bang A Gong (Get it On)” are the best for me. The follow up album, The Slider, is even better in my opinion and has my all time favorite T. Rex song “Ballrooms Of Mars.” Love Tony Visconti and loved this video. Well done! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
*Raised on T. Rex, Redbone and Valdy* Story we heard growing up in the 70's was *Marc Bolan* had recurring dreams he dies in a car crash; so he never ever drove his cars. Then just before his 30th he dies in a car crash with his girl friend behind the wheel.

Sadly a relationship breakdown a few years ago culminated in my not being sent around 30 to 50 albums that I owned. ( I'm still discovering missing ones now) but this album was one of them that's loss upsets me still. A tremendous album that is well worth revisiting.
I saw T-Rex in concert in 1973. It was in Brisbane Australia. My second concert after seeing David Bowie in Manchester UK. Very different concerts, T-rex was basically just singing their songs whereas Bowie was very theatrical. The music was great in both.
As a long term Marc Bolan fan i really enjoyed that, thank you. Seeing how you're bexoming Bolan fans you might enjoy watching the film 'Billy Elliott.' It has lots of T-Rex in it and also has a couple of Paul Weller songs which you will enjoy, Amber. ❤
You need to do a lot more Tyrannosaurus Rex and T.Rex Tony Visconti is a genuine legend for his contributions to great British music... Bolan and Bowie

Wow. Tony Visconti! I love this album, the strings are just beautiful and of course Marc is amazing. Love the melodies
I hope you two realise what a music legend Mr Visconti is to the British public. The legends this man has worked with are top of the tree.
I'll be 70 in September! Marc Bolan, David Essex and Leo Sayer adorned my bedroom walls in the 70s. Cosmic Dancer was my fave of T-Rex. ❤ 🎶 🎵
T Rex and Slade on my walls. I shared a room with my sister who had David Cassidy all over her side of the room. What a combination!
Marc is the man. Love TRex 🔥🔥🔥

Marc’s girlfriend, who was also one of his backing singers was driving … she skidded hit a tree, she survived Marc was killed outright ….
