Here's a list of the names we've seen so far and the puns in them. I'll include the Japanese and French names, but I'll explain them only if asked.
Case 1:
EN, FR: Phoenix Wright | JP: Ryuichi Naruhodo
"Phoenix" because of the main premise, where he turns seemingly hopeless cases into miraculous victories. "Wright" because it sounds like "right", as in, "correct".
EN, FR: Mia Fey | JP: Chihiro Ayasato
"Mia" is the shortened form of several names including "Maria" and "Amelia". "Fey" may refer to the _adjective_ "fey", meaning "magical".
EN: Larry Butz | FR: Paul Defès | JP: Masashi Yahari
"Larry" rhymes with "hairy", and can be mistaken for "Harry". "Butz" was picked for the sake of the idiom and the pun with his first name.
EN: Cindy Stone | FR: Cindy Ströi | JP: Mika Takabi
It's similar to "cinder block".
EN: Winston Payne | FR: Victor Boulay | JP: Takefumi Auchi
"Wince in pain."
EN: Frank Sahwit | FR: Frank Khavu | JP: Hoshio Yamano
"Frank saw it." Which, obviously, is both a reference to being called as a witness, but also a bit of irony since he's the killer.
Not gonna lie, I can totally see you really getting into it and playing the whole trilogy. Heck, I can see you playing all 6 main games, even. It really is a phenomenal series
Thanks for the comments! So, I've recorded 3 of the 5 cases (the 5th one was originally DLC???) and I worked out pretty quickly that it'll take multiple sessions. I'm really enjoying what the game is doing and will do my best to not totally mess up, but that is pretty inevitable xD
The 5th case of the first game was only added when they re-released the game for the DS; it was not in the original GBA version. As the case was created and released after the entire first trilogy, it has a pretty different feel to the rest of them, feeling more like a case from the second trilogy.

So, little bit of advice that's standard for first-timers:
1 - Make the text box more transparent; it's not _necessary_ but it's generally considered good practice.
2 - Case 5 of the first game was added in the 2005 DS port. All releases include it, and that's why it'll feature things that the cases before and after do not.
3 - Present your attorney's badge to everyone during investigations. It's fun!
4 - If you spot anything ladder-like during investigations, examine it. I don't make the rules, you are being drafted to the ladder war like the rest of us.

OK was a little late in posting this comment, but barring life throwing me a massive curveball I'm gonna comment on these videos.
"My first case is a simple one." Last I checked murder cases aren't simple Phoenix XD.

A useful tip for this series as a whole is to always press in every statement. The series likes to play around with that. Sometimes pressing gives you new information that the witness then adds to the testimony, some other times you have to press on a statement BEFORE using a piece of evidence or it will not work. There's even times where the same statement has to be pressed on more than once (which is very annoying, but it only happened once or twice in the whole series), and there will be an specific moment during the series where pressing has consequences, but that's the only time, so don't take it as the game telling you to not press because you absolutely should in any other case

Just a quick warning before I watch the video: The cases can sometimes be LONG, and the first game is the biggest example of it. The final case is not only going to be very long but also very difficult and kinda bullshit at times as well, and if this version of the game includes the DLC case, that's even LONGER and somehow more bs than the last one. I'm saying this mostly for time management, as in, don't try to do entire cases in one sitting because some may take 4 hours while others may take 30
