This was one of several Fox TV pilots that wasn't picked up as a series and subsequently "burned off" during the summer of 1990. Each pilot aired only once, on a Wednesday night at 9:30 pm, over a six-week period from July 25 to August 29. This one was the first to air, on July 25. (with a mere 4.6 million viewers tuning in). It is unknown if a repeat showing was ever aired.
Was not expecting that Pontiac commercial narrated by Patrick Stewart… and then wasn’t that the guy who played Lt Malcolm on Star Trek Enterprise in the Vidal Sassoon commercial? Wild seeing all these TV actors doing commercials in their younger years.
This show was made by Stone Television/Sleepy Hollow Productions and Lorimar Television or since Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution took over Lorimar Television. The copyright date is 1989 Lorimar Distribution since Warner Bros. still use the Lorimar name.
- Can you do Roger Rabbit? - Not on this budget. That about sums the show up. I guess this is what CBS' "The Pink Panther" would have looked like had anyone gotten to see it. Still, better than "The Simpsons". Thanks for posting it.
+Benjamin MacHale, does anyone have the following pilots with commercials?: Doodles 1988 Juarez 1988 Some Kinda Woman 1988 Hammer, Slammer & Slade (spin-off pilot/special based on the 1988 film I'm Gonna Git You Sucka) 1990 Hurricane Sam (with Ben Savage) 1990 Clippers 1991 In the House (not to be confused with the 1995-99 NBC/UPN sitcom of the same name) (with Don Cheadle) 1991 Passion (with Jane Seymour) 1991 Sunday in Paris (a.k.a Fresher Pastures) (with Debbie Allen) 1991 Word of Mouth (a.k.a. D.O.B, a.k.a The War Room) 1991 Moe's World 1992 Up to No Good 1992 Yesterday/Today 1992 Boy Meets Girl (with Jasmine Guy) 1993 New Year (with Stacy Keach) 1993 Related by Birth (spin-off pilot/special of the 1991-92 sitcom Sibs) 1994
I've seen and saved a couple that you mention here, for sure have hammer slammer and Slade. I'll try to find what I have for you. Not sure they have commercials tho. But you just gave me a great list of stuff to check out lol.
I was watching the Howard Stern interview with Hank talking about this character brought me here

Cameo by Hollywood Dog creator, the late (and missed by all who knew him) Ron Overmyer ... rather in character as Bing: 0:36 - 1:14
I forgot all about those old Exedrin commercials. Memories

Wow, I guess it never made it past this pilot. Don't know what I think of it. Nice you found a hi-fi VHS recording of it.
Someone on the Lost Media Wiki uploaded it to Mega and then I uploaded it here.
Quick question: Is it ok if I upload a version of this with the commercials removed? I will properly credit you in the description of said video.
Sure. Sorry I didn't see your comment earlier.
It's Rude Dog with Moe Syslak's voice.
6:45 - Duffman.
Dog of Flanders (get it?)

- Not on this budget.

9:49 I remember watching this sequence when I was 12 years old with my dad and we both went "Uuuuuugh" at that shot
The original comic this was based off of is a political cartoon, right?
Its Hank Azaria! :D
Funny
