My aunt had a vhs with different shows she liked from back in the day but I remember this was on it and could never remember what it was called no wonder I couldn’t find it the network didn’t green light it. Glad I found it tho. The show Doghouse is similar I wonder if there’s a connection somehow
Stumbling through RUclips links to a (failed) 21 min 1990 TV Pilot titled 'Poochinski'. I had to watch. Fun fast paced comedy. I hope Peter Boyle would have had voice-over fun with this series. Funny gag-lines throughout - Poochinski could have been a 1990's pop-culture Bulldog icon. "Don't confuse Hygiene with Character"
You could fill up a DVD box set with all these busted dog pilots from the late '80s and early '90s... this... the Dog Police show.... "Mutts".... "Dad's a Dog"... "Hollywood Dog"... "Woof"... "K-9: The TV Series"... "Turner & Hooch: The TV Series" (not to be confused with "Tequila & Bonetti"... the rip-off of "Turner & Hooch"... that actually went to series). Think of the marketing possibilities. "What a Dog! Theater." I swear the execs just ordered them so they could have something to pass on. Or, more likely, they were on drugs when they ordered them.
I'm surprised that even Brandon Tartikoff at NBC didn't pick up a few more episodes of this, could've been a decent family hit against ABC's mostly family-oriented line-up. And FOX also missed a great opportunity to keep the show alive & move it to the FOX network as a lead-out program for The Simpsons.
@@IssidroRicardo Tubbs did it more better in the opening to the Miami Vice pilot when two teenage thugs brandished knives at him as he sat in his car and Tubbs scared them off with a gun.
what About the dog's Soul? was it just kicked out into oblivion? is it still inside pressed down by the dominant human, and forced to experience everything as a paralyzed passenger? that guy's Pretty selfish to be complaining About his second Chance, and never thinks of the poor dog.
Compared to movies like TED, Happytime Murders and Tusk . This actually seems to be rather mainstream by today's standard. I actually believe this show would work. Especially in today's entertainment landscape.
Even for the 90s, that dog was simply just too savage for public television!! Networks didn’t want that kind of beef w/ a bulldog voiced by Peter Boyle!! The Karen-Broflovski’s of that time would crucify the idea of it!! 😂😂😂
I just wrote a blog post recapping and reviewing Poochinski. I hope you guys enjoy! quietthinker1.wordpress.com/2015/04/21/50th-blog-post-sincere-thanks-poochinski/
We need a gritty reboot of this series.
Pretending that the rookie suffers from some kind of psychosis makes this enjoyable on an entirely different level
i can unfortunately relate to all of this in more ways than should be possible
This is the best thing I have ever seen and now I must die. Thank you.
Did I actually watch this? Holy fuck, this felt like a fever dream.
the only crime here is that this was never made into a series :'(
I’m a 90s kid this show needs a reboot
I had to stop the ben avery podcast for this
I can’t believe in the outtakes they had Poochinski plant crack in a foreigner owned convenience store
9 years later, we got 100 Deeds For Eddie McDowd. Similar premise except, instead of a detective becoming a dog, a school bully does.
There was a joke about this show in Stargate SG-1. But in that universe they made 20 episodes out of it! x'D
Wormhole X-Treme
The shot of the police car siren is from Police Squad!!!!
still better than full house
Next dog I get, I'm naming it Stanley Poochinski
Last Stream on the Left brought me here

Can't believe I almost forgot to watch this today.
I'm a different man after watching this.
This is like the premise of a Adam Sandler movie.
This would be something Adam Sandler would direct and produce.
wish you could find more of Poochinski, I have looked everywhere
I was looking for the video of the guy doing the slalom, with a poo on his chin. This is even better.
Cinematography is rad af loved this it reminded me of 'her' which is a great film
Poochinski ist der Beste!

"Don't confuse Hygiene with Character"
Greatest show that never was
he saved the dogs life and in return stole its soul, just like satan himself...
Welcome back to the video :)
Originally telecast on July 9, 1990.
This looks like something Tim & Eric would have made. This is amazing.
Both conceptually and in terms of the poor quality of the puppet.
@@travtotheworldthe poor quality of the puppet, along w/ the old school-slapstick humor is what makes shit like this iconic!
"Don't confuse hygiene with character!"
😂
Oh man... I wish I never watched this! Now I'm just craving more of something that will never be! Looks like it's back to heroin for me...
Omar Smiphson 💯%
Thanks for this, Achievement Hunter.
this is freakin great!

This probably didn’t get a 2nd ep. cause it’s so hard to watch the guy pick up the dog wrong. Every time. Dogs gonna dislocate a shoulder.
GREAT SHOW BRING IT BACK!
Obviously the best pilot of all time. Tragic this was never made :'(

***** Nothing says family oriented like a kid pulling a knife out on a cop who then threatens the kid with a gun.

"look at me..I've become a dog" They just dont write shows this good anymore. Needs a reboot
i love this company
i voted my own up lol
So ... did the dog's soul go into Peter Boyle's dead body? What are the rules?
Got my moneys worth.
21minutes felt like an hour n 21mins.
BRING IT BACK!
Why the fuck isn't this on Netflix?
And 0:22 Why the hell did they steal the b-roll footage from the 1982 "Police Squad" tv series (The show that launched "The Naked Gun" franchise)
Ideal for a live-action reboot.
Maybe they should have marketed the show as Columbone instead.
HaggisMcCrablice
Still a more convincing spin-off than the one with Captain Janeway playing his 24-year-old wife...
LMFAO
PUTTIN' ON THE RITZ!
Bring it back
11:20 best part right here
The Poochinski pilot was in The Goldbergs S5E15 Adam Spielberg. How does a show from 1990 appear in 1980something?
what About the dog's Soul? was it just kicked out into oblivion? is it still inside pressed down by the dominant human, and forced to experience everything as a paralyzed passenger?
that guy's Pretty selfish to be complaining About his second Chance, and never thinks of the poor dog.
Aww I love that dog
Why,did this not get picked up
I was expecting this to be a sitcom about a dog that thwarts criminals with feces...
Im watching this because of collins key
I enjoyed this. THIS would have been good as a show
13:25 😢

Thank God this show failed and he made a better choice and joined the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond.
I would of loved to have seen this :/ dame
This feels like an ITYSL sketch
I watched this thanks to a dank meme comp. my only regret is that there is no episode 2..

Best break from porn I've ever had!
r/NoFap
Why the fuck was this not picked up
17:26
The show gets serious.
this would be ok if the dog talking effects werent horrible
Hi NLSS
nice
19:25 😆
This could've been, a Disney spin-off, from Shaggy Dog
So Cop Rock became a series, yet this wasn’t?
Networks make no sense.
The Difference is Poochinski is kinda disturbing.
Goldberg’s brought me here.
15:56 WUT
So, Frank Barone gets run over and reincarnates as a talking dog. Makes sense... Marie would love it! If you get it, that makes this show funnier!
The Goldbergs!!!
andy browj did it
Cringe compilations brought me here.
Anyone from zuthar?
Cool
This woulda been great. Wtf
This is perfect hot garbage. 😂❤
ayy lmao
Nice DP

This is fucking terrible lmao.
