I have an exam in 2 days on drawings class in where I need to be able to navigate through these plans fast and extract information and these videos are gold. Thank you. Keep on posting and I'll keep on watching. I really like the way to break things down into detail without assuming we already know it. Some professors in University don't do that, which is crazy sometimes.
Thank you for this comment - sometimes I sit and wonder if it's too little or too much information but I'm going to keep on keeping on based on your feedback!!! Good luck on your exam!
Thank you for watching & continuing to support the channel! I always appreciate the comments - they keep me motivated to release consistent content for everyone!
Great suggestion - it's been hard to get content on site and make it real clean but that's the ultimate goal as I progress my video & editing skills : )
Your videos are incredibly informative and have truly set the standard for construction education online. I deeply admire your dedication and passion for the craft. It's clear you put a lot of effort into each video, and it shows! Would it be possible to access the original drawing files you use in your tutorials? It would be great to review them in more detail. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos!
The documents are unfortunately not available, I'm currently working on a website to publish similar documents to help continued learning though. Stay tuned for that!
On screen takeoff is what I've mainly used, it's clunky and old but decent. You still have to transfer that into another software such as Destini for estimating. I actually reached out to On Screen for a singke purchase copy or a demo copy to make a video and the their customer service was TERRIBLE. So bad I'm considering research into a different one
Love your video man!! Thank you for teaching us more than our professors. I hope you cover other discipline drawings also. Question : Do we have to memorize the details in each sheet?
Thanks for the feedback and great question! I'd like to same yes to memorizing each detail but it's unrealistic on large projects that have hundreds of pages and details. It never hurts to know more - but I see most issues come up when people assume to know. As long as you are looking at drawing details far enough in advance to coordinate them properly, you'll be good!
I'll probably be retiring and still going back and getting a refresher on blueprints. Why do we still call them blueprints.. come come on! Don't be so melancholic. Say something else. Something catchy
@Cedar Poplar - You are 100% right on, I feel the same watching back (this was my first video). I've been working on loosening up while filming my newer videos with some catchy hooks to keep things light 🤣 You got any plans for retirement!??

Structural is definitely on the way - just want to make sure they're as good as I can make them without rushing anything 😆
