I’m not a huge Hillsong or Bethel fan, but there is some Hillsong music that lines up with scripture, and a few of them that I really love for that reason. I love the ones that turn my focus towards Jesus Christ. The one song that I love is called: “I will run to you.” I don’t like the concert style. I don’t like the darkness, and I don’t like the worship style of focusing on the worship leaders versus God, but when I am in my own home, and I play certain songs, I don’t play the rock style ones. I play the ones that help me focus on Jesus Christ, and who I am and the new creation. God looks upon the heart. He sees the motives of each person who’s singing and praising him. If you are praising the Lord with all your heart mind and soul, if it’s about him and not you, then it is right.
I truly enjoy yr worship...yr songs are daily in my ❤ I love 💘 these songs makes such diff in our lives..too lovly wht a presence of God....we do not judge...but God wil judge....and forgives all our mistakes...
Pastor Houston a great 👍 embassador of God...the word has reached millions of pple in the 🌎 world...wht an impact...God is still 🙏 God and stil sits on the throne...praying fr gods peace and restoration...and favor upon yr ministry....
Hillsong NYC pastor Lentz said publicly that people don't need Jesus in order to be saved. That's a problem.

It's doctrine, teaching and practice that determine a true body of Christ.
Probably for fear of offending the congregation. Not balanced nor teaching the whole truth of the gospel.
That's why it's so very important to read the whole bible for oneself and not just depend on what is regurgitated by the pastors. If they are wrong, then the listeners get led astray.

Most of you that are against Hillsong, are basically the reasons why people pull away from church. Instead of pulling them down, pray for the church, pray for Leaders, Pray for your fellow Sisters and brothers in Christ !! Why condemn and judge when that obviously isn't our job. Has anybody been or experienced the church? Or are we just looking in from the outside? Remember GOD is bigger, and If these allegations are true HE ALREADY KNOWS, and will speak to you personally on which is a good church for you to go to. That's why it is so important to have a Relationship with God because He can/will tell you things that nobody else can.

I visit Hillsong Church in Cape Town occasionally and I experience the Words of Christ every time I visit. This is an amazing project by God and no scheme of men can destroy it.
We know that there will be a great revival before the end we must repent and except jesus has our savior to be saved and be with him for eternity praise god
There will be a revival, but by then, all those who have the Holy Spirit in them will be gone.

I just watched a video where the head pastor of hillsong in NYC said that you dont have to believe in Jesus Christ to be saved. People want entertainment, not Jesus these days. That is why Hillsong is so popular. Jesus says that the way to heaven is narrow and few find it. These people would have you believe that the way has been found by many and is wide open. The Bible will set us all straight.

At 2:24 there is a shot of a concert crowd and many of them are displaying the "rock hand sign" (devil's horns/il cornuto). That demonstrates how clueless they are to what true worship is supposed to be. Yes, it involves music, but music is an accompaniment to prayer, Bible study, witnessing, testimonies. The Hillsong experience is emotionally powerful, but not because of the Holy Spirit. Music has power...emotional power. Remember girls passing out at Beatles's concerts? Remember the old footage of the tears streaming down their faces? Take similar music and add some words about Jesus and you have a very powerful tool for manipulating the masses. Try this: watch some Hillsong concert footage with the sound turned all the way down. Then do the same with a rock and roll concert. They look practically identical, especially when they pan the audience. The crowd behaves exactly the same. Sad, very sad especially for today's Christian youth.

There are clips of Hillsongs pastor carl lentz drinking with Justin Bieber. And there are clips of him hanging out with those that claim to be satanists. You are guilty by association. We are called to witness to them not fellowship with them. They are an abomination unto Christ!

Having a good laugh reading peoples comments. I attend Hillsong in Surrey UK every now and then. Its not my home church but I love going there as it so welcoming and the the praise and worship really makes you feels close to God and always puts me on the right path. Hillsong is by far from a cult!!!! God works in wonderous and different ways around the world to let people have a relationship with him. He is a God of love and gave his people freedom of choice, including the way you worship him!

We have experienced mighty moves of God in our church whilst singing there songs. Some of us could only dream of creating change and impact on this planet like God has through Hillsong. My brothers and my sisters, be careful who you judge, because if you do happen to be judging God's work, i dont think He will be very happy with that. Neither let jealousy speak through you.

id never heard any other group but Hillsong. I absolutely adored them. Felt inspired by them. I listened to some others. I came back running to Hillsong. They're unique. They are influencing a whole generation today of various ages and races. Wasn't that God's intention, to bring people together? And create a BUTTERFLY EFFECT? One song..one voice..many songs..many voices.. :)
God looks at the heart. People should stop judging and trying to be in the place God should only occupy. You cannot sometimes see the heart of a person, but you can only discern it by the help of the Holy Spirit. What more in trying to see the heart of a whole church. and seeing them with judgement and prejudice covering your eyes? you condemn people based on your own standards. Jesus moves mysteriously. Remember He was treated as an outcast and other people have rejected Him for being different. I believe in the creativity of the Holy Spirit. There really is freedom in Jesus. People, stop trying to be religious and start having an intimate relationship with God. You can never really 100% follow the law because we are all flawed! That's why I'm thankful of God's sacrifice on the cross for me. because He has justified me. I pray that you guys will just leave the hate and the judgment and focus on the True Gospel. When you really ask for understanding and wisdom, God will give it to you. :)

Hillsong is one of the few Christian artist who actually put depth into their music. It's honestly the only Christian music I listen to because I can't stand anymore of the radio stuff. It's all so generic and without meaning. That's why hillsong is so popular- because they reach all audiences. They're lyrics are powerful and unstoppable and just really relatable.

I hate to break it to the people who constantly ask "who are we to judge", but we are called to test the Spirit of everything so that we can judge if it's God or not. As far as people go, the Apostle Paul teaches us to hold each other accountable for our actions by judging the fruit that we bare. Those that don't want to change to be more like Christ are to be put out of the church. I think many of you people need to do your homework. Even though these songs are about Jesus their attitude and the way they present themselves show you that it's not about God. Look up other clips of them and you will see for yourself. They often quote scripture but are totally off from what it actually means. They justify themselves by twisting scripture to make themselves feel good. Because that's what they are about. Not once did this guy speak of the importance of reaching out to his community with the gospel. He talked of having a vision, but one is left with only ambiguity. Fellow Christians it's all about the gospel and nothing less will do if we call ourselves Christians. Why even wear the label if you can't speak of the one for whom it's all about.

If you are saying what needs saying, you'll end up with a handful at church, at best. Well, numbers also get low when a people have options and they see their leadership not being true to their church's teachings, but getting all cute and familiar with their flock and not calling them to task.
I don't see anything g wrong w hillsong. I love them. All of those who talk badly about the church, what have you done to bring people to Christ? Do ppl look at you, and be like, hey wanna know the God that person serve. How many people have you bought to church? What have you done for your community? Do people see you and be like wow, that person is truly a man/woman of God?
simple they do not talk about the doctrine of hall. the scriptures are very clear that Jesus came because of the sin of Adam and Eve to make right with what went wrong in the Garden of Eden thousands of years ago. Jesus being the second Adam came and died with the perfect life that we couldn't live to save us from Eternal punishment. and to reconcile us in a relationship with God the Father. I believe Hillsong has good songs. But if the pastor started preaching on the doctrine of hell it's very probable that that group of people would shrink.

While his parishioners are struggling to pay their million dollar inflated Sydney property price mortgages, he is flying first class around the world with his wife on the 10% tithes & love offerings, but according to Brian (and his dumb goons) it's "all in the name of Jesus". Many are leaving Hillsong because they see the Houston Family as a pack of gluttons, swanning around on their parishioners tithes like God has "Blessed" them. You don't need to change your behaviour at Hillsong, except give up alcohol, but nothing is said about pre-marital sex, tattoos, partying, hypocrisy, marijuana smoking & the like because "who are we to judge" & Jesus Blood is treated as a licence to sin. Because if they were serious about Christianity, some people might get upset they have to change & there will be less tithing in the collection bucket.

My 'fear' of the Lord, prevents me from preaching and teaching false hopes and promises. I may not have numbers in the church but we will not preach to 'please men'. The Kingdom of God is about salvation, what is missing today are morals. SIN = self indulgent naughtiness. We, as you know, have been called out of sin into righteousness, What is righteousness = always choosing that which is right, practice makes permanent. If only people would read the Word of God, then they would be enlightened, in this we find the true riches of Christ, wisdom, knowledge, understanding and best of the, the power to believe, God bless you in your journey

There is a difference between 'religion' and faith.. I agree & God cannot be 'franchised'. As for being 'messed up', many of the people who give generously to them believe they are giving support to God's work here, and are genuine, God knows all their hearts, including Houston's.

Please don’t go there with the KJV bible, you don’t know what you are talking about. The 1611 was not the first version, it is revised from around 1589. There are plenty of other versions that are more accurate.

What you read today was the product of the need for the TRANSLATION (not the message) to be updated. if you dont want newer translations, please go Greek because KJV does have words you won't understand without an understanding of 18th century English.

If we use it to lavish in luxuries, while ppl all around us in the world are suffering, if we use it to glorify Him... Speaking of suffering, we could use wealth to provide jobs and work for the poor, and equal rights, priveleges, equal employment....LIKE FOR THE ABORIGINIES.... I loved the worship when Darlene sang, now they even have a cuss word in one of their worship songs that Brian wrote. Also, there's the naked cowboy video, so much controversy with this church and no we can't judge them personally, but we can judge what they say that doesn't line up with the word. We need to stop being seeker friendly people, tickling the ears, not wanting to get off the milk and onto the meat. All you need to do is look them up to hear the things they say that are not biblically correct. Read the word!!

Come on, its not about what church youre at but its all about your personal relationship with God. Its all about the Good news that Jesus Died and rose again. And if we believe on Jesus then we will someday will rose aswell.

Now I understand you dont go there, but explain this, I know a few who have gone there in the past and eventually "managed" to leave. After this 'church' managed to get roughly 43% of their annual income. When they tried to leave earlier, there business was shunned and the local hillsong community essentially forced them to keep paying, otherwise they wouldnt be saved....

Christianity is a religion as well as a relationship with God since it explains cosmic purpose and has commandments that we must abide by.
Easy to be lost in the moment, specially with music.... don't forget music is one of the angel of light talents, and can mis lead you.

For a body of people are a church... and every person to God matters.... not just a building full of 30,000 people...a church of just 2 is more important to God.

Christians i encourage you to learn about the origins of your so called holy book and also the origins of your religion itself. Read a Bart Ehrman or Robert Price book and educate yourself.
I hope these are not Prosperity Preachers. Hillsong does not preach the gospel in its entirety and they do not expect people to change their behavior. How can they when Bobbie Houston stated that it is not our job to tell people how to live their lives. You need to read the word.
Didn't even mention Jesus being brought to the people through music, "spiritual hunger" could only be filled by Jesus not by consistently listening and singing songs

Traditional hymnody and much of traditional sacred classical music of the western and eastern churches are generally based on the ancient temple Hebrew and Greek modes. Modernistic pop, folk, rock, show music, etc. are constructed in such a manner that do not follow the musical theoretical norms of harmonic structure and composition of these ancient modes. Thus modernistic music is classified as "Profane;" which means fit only for the public square and not for sacred usage of worship, adoration and praise. Modern public music is heavily "based on" tribal rhythms and with very simple melodies and text. Whereas, the ancient sacred modes of the Hebrews and Greeks, are based purely on complex harmonic tonalities / scalular melodies with the only rhythmic influence based on the text of Holy Scriptures (SEE PSALMS).
Both Paul and Jesus exposed wrong teaching and sin in the Church. You need judgment and discernment based on His Word to do that.

He never mentioned Jesus. Not once Only "god". His god is Lucifer. My God is Jesus - the only true God. When a Christ -loving person talks about God, he/she always uses the name of Jesus.

Seek the truth for yourself. Let God lead you to the truth. Don't believe everything you hear. We are living in the last days.
We are warned numerous times in scripture that the end times will be characterised by massive spiritual deception and that those who do not love the truth will be given over to strong delusion. Those who remain faithful are told that they will be persecuted and hated by the world. We don't live for our own glory or the temporary trappings of this world.
