0:37 reminds me a lot of the Mancer's Dilemma from Bastion. Enjoying this series so far as someone interested in wood working. Thanks.
Ha
The greatest intro I have ever received to tools/Wood working and what they do really appreciate your channel. built my first project today, made 2 ceder planter boxes.
Keeping a desert shop really would present a challenge. A few years ago, I went swimming in Phoenix- in January. If you were to lean a board against a wall in that sun, it would cup, crown, and split before you could plug in your planer. I commend you for your tenacity; being indigenous to a much more temperate climate, I admire that you could adapt to woodworking in a place with no trees. Saguaro is rather woody, but I prefer the fresh-cut, dripping wet black walnut logs sitting in my garage.
I am planning to make a small shop just for a hobby, and the first part of your show is making me think that I can't start it but I'm glad I finish your video until the end. I know I will learn a lot from your video God bless.
Sorry for my English if I use wrong words or grammar lol
Who doesn't love a shop tour!
What a remarkable transformation from this shop to your "Dream Shop"
Wayne Brown No kidding haha
I JUST FINISHED WATCHING ALL 321 OF YOUR SHOWS. OBVIOUSLY I LIKE THEM A LOT. I LIKE YOUR REALISM.JUST SAY IT LIKE IT IS.
Tormek T7 is a great way to sharpen edge tools - and as usual - great video - Cheers from Bulgaria!
Just starting out to learn wood working thanks for the time to make these so far so good!!!!!!
Loved it. Very good sense of humor.
Enjoyed the video. Glad you were able to get the salad dressing out of your shirt. I was not as fortunate when my wife decided not to secure the top on a new gallon of red paint. When I picked the can up and began to shake it, the lid flew off and I was immediately covered with a half a gallon of red paint from head to toe.
Oil based? OMG.
I am a christian Priest and basically I am from India. You are amazing in explaining what is necessary for a fine carpentry. I have learned so many tricks to begin my Carpentry school for the Poor Youth in India. Thanks. God bless your family.
Bless you too amazing job
Lol! This was a great video. Glad you posted it.
Something I noticed. While your shop and tools have changed... You haven't. That was... 2003??? You look the same. Your style is the same. The way you "teach" is the same. I like that over the years you've managed to move up... But you haven't changed. I really like that. Thanks for inspiring and teaching us... And entertaining us. Lol...now I gotta go build something!!!
wow the channel and your shop have come a long way in a short time period. Good work. Keep it up.
Mark, great video. Great info. Great advice.
Very well done video and a great shop! Perhaps what's needed now is a video on packing a big shop into a small shop space?
I commandeered the family room for my castle/workshop and park my pickup truck in the adjacent garage. Next to the workshop, opposite the garage, is the all important kitchen. All three have doorways leading out onto the rear patio and yard (barbecue grill, extra work area, etc).
You look like a baby in these old videos. Fun to see.
I love those stanley boxes!!
Incase you still have the stain, I work in the fluid power industry and found that soaking in dishwasher detergent before washing gets the stains out :)
Always liked this one.
its good to reflect and have a laugh!
Love all your great tips, especially on the kick switch. Mark, how about a video on how to make the vertical storage rack? What a great idea! Love all you videos!
indeed! i'm now on video 30-something, your fantastic, so much to learn.
regarding the stain, I'd start with a low angle smoother right off the bat. It looks like the stain changes direction near the shoulder so be aware of tear-out. Or just buy some festool stuff.
Also the hollow in the back of the Japanese chisels is to reduce friction with the wood.
Quick comment on the "parking in the garage" issue. Yes, I park in the garage (or would, if I had one) because it gets COLD and very SNOWY here in Michigan...
That intro was enough to give this vid thumbs up... Lol
Nice castle sr 👍🤠
Hahaha. Table spoon of sunlight dish detergent in with the laundry 'll fix ya right up. Great videos.
Watching and subscribed thanks for sharing .
Steve
The Intro of this Vid its not a "Fun Part" its Reality. That happens in my Shop every Day :-)) Love your Vids...! Have a G(W)ood Time. Greets from the dark Germany
At 6:10 when you mention Huey Lewis I immediately thought about American Psycho lol. Let's just hope you never decide to use those tools on something other than wood.
Do you have a tutorial on the vertical ply storage with the press screws?
Probably never. I used to lust after the JDS MultiRouter but ever since getting the Domino, it's even harder to justify.
im just learning this guy is great!!!
Hahahah! Man I know the feeling! Great video :)
I don't think you have that Minimax anymore and replaced it with a Powermatic. Did you have problems with the MM?
I'm interested in getting into Carpentry but I can't find a decent trade school down here in Florida. What would you recomend doing to get into Carpentry as a full time job? Thank you and have a blessed day.
Is this the same wood whisperer who has a show that's playing on amazon right now? I haven't seen it but I heard about it.
How big is your shop? It looks huge!
I have a 20x22 garage and I feel like it's a little cluttered. (A bad habit for building stuff far too big, including workbenches, could be to blame...)
Great vid! However... I was a little distracted by trying to Google the price of everything you own!!
wait you wore that shirt the night previous? It may not be your fault that it's stained but I hope you washed it in between?
James Tremblett notice he says his wife opened the jar last night, he didnt say he dropped it on him last night. He must have picked it up the morning after , after his wife left it open :)
Are there any brands to stay away from? For example a jigsaw, circular saw, plunge router and drill by Makita is $625 in total from Home Depot, which to me sounds like a reasonable price, but how does one know if it is poor quality. As a beginner, there isn't much to reference to. Thanks for the videos!
Right, it was called videopodcast back then. I had forgotten about that...
There really isn't much tenacity involved and woodworking here isn't all that different than anywhere else, assuming one buys kiln-dried stock.
America is the land of opportunity.
So then you mean, "better" than Norm. :)
you are very good
Baby powder can get out any oil based stains in your clothing. Rub it in and let it set for at least a day. Launder as you regularly wood......ha.......wood.
Norm Abram is my childhood hero! How about you?
I like you, I like your casttle and I like your sence humor but I likemore your explanation I am your fan from Mexico
grettings
Why don't you have a lathe?
Look at 1:30. Behind him you can see part of his lathe. I guess he just didn't want to talk about it?
hey, your right! I did spot that on the second watch through. I love lathes, they seem almost magical in their ability to turn out perfectly round, beautiful patterns.
is your channel is about wood art.
wheres the first episode ?
Why didn't you change your shirt?
+Jon Linko He's a twisted guy. I often find myself doing a LOL on his vids.
threw me off until I scrolled down to read commits I thought you had built a separate shop and was wondering what was going on LOL DUH
Wonder who won the Saints/Eagles game on the T.V... probably N.O.
Worktunes headphones?
*goes to buy first woodworking "tool"
"It's hip to be square" hahaha, look a carpenters theme song
Your Neighbor has a bathroom without a house? 🤣🤣.
اهلا سهلا تحايتي لك
Well apparently we found the 9 people who have no appreciation of music or a great shop video. I don't get it. Maybe they should watch the paint drying channel instead.
1.store nails in old jam jars
2. Save money
Ha ha ha ha ...I'm always do the same
.... Into my neighbors yard.... Lol
Potwierdzam Twoje stwierdzenie. Żeby majsterkować przez kilka dni w miesiącu nie trzeba kupować narzędzi z najwyższej półki, a mimo tego mieć wiele frajdy z wykonanej pracy.
Very cool video, liked it and your teaching skills alot.
But dude, no need for the "Man vs. Woman" intro bit and comments about your wife mistakes and etc., there's no need for that.
You surely can do better to make comedic relief for viewers without doing unnecessary stuff like that.
But yeah, liked alot most of the video, subscribing to you.
It was meant to be a joke that lots of people can relate to. Sorry it hit a nerve with you for some reason. I do a lot of "unnecessary" joking around and I don't take things too seriously, so you probably want to get used to it if you plan to watch more. :)
hmmm I have no wife. Have a nice husband though. :D
anne Pelton I was thinking the same thing...why oh why do we silly women keep parking in our garages? LOL
lol
Hear hear! I'd also like to think that if I had a husband I wouldn't need to call him in from the shop like a child to clean his own home. But I'll cut him some slack since this video is old ;)
your worse than norm abram, i thought that guy had everything.
I find your extremely high level of competance somewhat annoying. There, I said it.
