Appreciate the video! Trying to learn more about mine. Seems to be struggling for power, checked the bush hog for tangled up vines binding it down but was clear.
Man can you tell me where you got that starter maybe bring up the site because everywhere I bring up a starter for a 650 it says it has a 3 cylinder in it and I also have the two cylinder yanmar
Maybe a website part number anything my starter doesn't have a part number on top of it as of now I'm jumping it across the solenoid and it starts to run fine but I just want to order a whole new starter I would love to have a part number
I was trying to look at my old computer orders, but do not see it. My John Deere guys are really helpful. I bet you could call them and give them the serial number of your and get the part number. Then plug it in on line. Good luck

Super helpful, thank you OP!! Thank you very much.
I have an '82 650. Came with the house I bought. Still learning about it. Mine doesn't run the greatest. Needs some work too.
It’s a great little machine. One I got mine going, it’s been perfect for my small tasks. Enjoy it.
Wow! looks well kept, have you checked any of your fluids lately? Preventive maintenance is imperative to keeping these older machines running well.
Yes. I changed all the fluids. It’s a great little machine.
Do you know where the neutral switch is??
What a helpful video

Transmission or pto lever have sensors that have to be disengaged or it won't turn over also.
Good tip. See the end of the video. Both are mentioned in the 2nd half.
