I feel like Dave is so under appreciated. It’s almost like he’s played second fiddle to one of the 20th and 21st century’s best guitar players, or something😂. He really deserves a lot more love!
I used to take lessons from Mr. Weiner, about 18-19 years ago, when he had just joined Vai's band...good guy, all around. Dave's album-"On Revolute" is just pure awesomeness...
I jammed with Dave, as I am a member of his Philly guitar club, and asked him if he had heard of you and had not.
So I asked him to check you out as I had found your content and courses very valuable even as a 40 year plus lifelong student of the guitar. I am glad he is getting a "shout out" here as he is truly underrated and is a great mentor for the younger players.
He treats all players of all instruments at his Jam Session at Sam Ash in KOP, PA with respect and dignity.
Dave is an incredible guitarist and teacher. Massive inspiration!
Huge follower of Dave Weiner and his riff of the week series before he became professor Dave. His lessons on modes and motifs really helped shaped my playing to this day.
Dave Weiner is one of my favorites! The OnRevolute album is instrumental perfection! Nice jams guys!
Intro riff is fucking astounding, here's to it becoming a full song
That jam at the end... so damn good!
Dave is an absolute beast, been a fan of his show Guitopia for a while
Dave's idea of music (improv inside a few theoretical rules) is pretty much what Indin Classical Music is. A Raga is basically like a scale and style, and the major chunk of a Indian Classical Music performance is just improv in that Raga and one or two melody lines used as "fuel for improv" to use Dave's words.
@12:30 "explain everything; leave no stone unturned." Yes: Dave Weiner sounds like my kind of instructor.
Dave truly is an amazing human being! I met him once after a Vai show in Denver, and have had several interactions on Facebook Live as well as RUclips. Where we may not agree on metronomes. Whereas I see them as great tools for learning the mechanics of a technique or phrase in relation to the beat then later adding a jam track for more musical context. Granted, jam tracks are more fun to play over because it is musical. However the ambiguity of just a click can prepare you for a live situation in the sense that it likely won't be the same as your jam track and you can adapt. providing that the rhythm section is locked in.
Saw him play with Vai, very skilled player.
Hadn’t heard of Dave prior to this, but definitely subscribing to him now
I felt so inspired, sounds like he’s passionate about what he does, and he cares about how people learn! :) I had never heard of him before, so thanks Tyler!
12:06 : that part made me go subscribe to Dave's channel.. Love a proper break down of the how and why
Long time fan of Dave's. Great interview/get-together.
Would be awesome to see Mike Keneally talk shop with you (and thereby by proxy, us) in a future podcast too. 🤘🏼
That tapping at 22:00 is beautful
beautiful jam
Soothing guitar sounds by both gentlemen.
Excellent interview and Dave really is a great player.
Damn, improv is the goal... that was amazing playing from the both of you
Jesus, sometimes you forget just how good Tyler is. Dave is absolutely incredible too, somehow I'd never heard of him before this!
Another great interview Tyler! What a great vibe and jam.
Great experience to watch two great guitar players jamming together.
Love it when players emphasize repetition and silence.. thanks tyler.

Very Opeth sound jams. Love it!
Dude... That song at the beginning... Where do I get it? That guitar playing is seriously tasty!
But did Bethany ever get food? (Seriously...great video except for this cliffhanger)
11:20 thats cool lol
So I watched this whole thing and only just realized this is the guy I saw playing with Steve Vai about 20 years ago lol. He looks a bit different. :)
guitar super system
holy crap, Dave's voice has gotten deep over the years LOL
oh shit you weren't joking when you said you would get awesome musicians
They definitely slept together.
Good video
I have a serious question if anyone can help, I continue to incorporate my pinky past the twelfth fret. Is that bad technique? Should I just stink to three fingers instead? Thanks in advance for any replies.
it starts at 5:18
Boogenhiemer thanks

0:01 already better at guitar
The Guthrie fan in you is getting loose while you're jamming.
Please, at least once, do a left handed guitar giveaway
What's the semi hollow PRS on the right in the intro thumbnail?
But are you one with the CAW!?
Notification squad!
Dave's voice is like Barry white vibe jajajaj
A lot better than rusty cooley
I hadn’t seen this before but it’s lit
Have you ever done or will do more videos on BASS?
He doesn’t play bass, so I would say no. If you don’t know about Davie504 I would check him out.
The way he is and the way he talks reminds me so much of steve vai haha
Noice
Has Tyler lost weight? Could be wrong but it kinda looks like it.
Go to 5:20...your welcome
Weiner Weiner Chicken Deiner
I love how Awkward you are. It's so refreshing.
Dave's been hangin out with Vai too much,,
I hate instagram... does that exclude me? :)
Came to the comments section expecting weiner jokes...... you have disappointed me guys ;) seriously though the guy is great.
holy crap first
Same
cookie anyone? there are lots in my van :)
I love the MiW community.
oh god. do you really feel the need to have a podcast?
wheresallthezombies lol what a boner^^^
Question... How does he make you a better guitar player? Seriously, after listening through way too much verbage, the short jam did not help the average player much less the freshman players.
If you have to ask, you'll never know.
Music is Win rhetorical
Yeah Larry, how dare you ask a perfectly reasonable question when Tyler has gone to all the trouble of getting Dave Weiner in front of the camera..really..
He's got a funny name. I mean, Dave is so normal and dull I can't help but to laugh
They dont even play wtf
You talk way too much peep
Talk too much on a podcast...
It's a podcast.
