In Quebec, we are not allowed to travel with the phone in the middle like that. It either needs to be in the front window, or the dash board, or in your pocket. 500 $ fine.

That is false.. In Québec you can't have an electronic device IN HAND while driving. It's perfectly legal to have it in the center console/drink holders.
Also it's a 300$ fine (up to 600$ if repeated infractions).

@@SciD1 Cops are not divine. Read up the law yourself. It's only if you hold the cellphone that it becomes illegal (or if it obstructs view, like if it stuck in the center of the windshield, per the law it is illegal)
